Chapter 116 The Broken Shield Hotel

The monster subconsciously told the truth, with a panic look on his ugly face, but unfortunately it had no hands and could not cover its mouth.

Finally, Gandalf found out the news about the wolf. It turned out that these days, a group of wild wolf came to the Monster Forest.

The monsters are simple-minded and cooperate with wolves in order to eat more things. They learn how to patrol regularly and indeed catch more animals than before.

The wolf left after teaching them, and the monster became happier because the wolf no longer competed for food with them.

As for the giant spider, the giant monster said it had never seen it.

"Mr. Ian, please solve it." Gandalf asked, and asked Mo Tie to deal with the monster.

Mo Tie cut off the monster's head neatly.

Afterwards, the two secretly ran out of the giant monster forest, and were in danger along the way, neither meeting a giant spider nor a wolf.

After leaving the forest, Gandalf handed his backpack to Mo Tie and said, "Iron, please allow me to call you that. There are 500 gold coins in the backpack as your reward for this mission. By the way, will you still be in this town in half a year?"

Mo Tie took the backpack and weighed it, it was not light.

"Half a year later? I might be near Rivendell. I heard there are many elves there, so I want to go and see them."

"That's really great." Gandalf laughed, "I will also come to Rivendell in half a year. At that time, I may ask you to do a favor. The reward is very generous, so don't miss it."

Help? Mo Tie ignored the generous rewards. He could travel time again in less than four years. What's the use of getting more money? The 500 gold coins in this mission have been enough for him to use for several years.

And, what can be done with Rivendell? Isn’t the Lonely Mountain Mission collected at Cape Charles of the Hobbit?

"I will definitely help if I have time. But can you tell me what's going on?"

Gandalf frowned slightly: "It will take me to investigate before I can confirm it. However, if there is no accident, your companion will be a dwarf, well, a dwarf not very friendly to the elves."

"Oh, it's okay, dwarves and elves are born to miss each other, after all, dwarves are so ugly."

Gandalf held his forehead and felt that something would happen if he put Mo Tie and the Dwarf together.

Mo Tie knew that this was a mission in Gushan when he heard this, but he didn't expect Gandalf to have a preliminary plan so early.

He was looking forward to this task, and maybe he could see the mysterious Supreme Lord Ring at that time.

"Iron, I need to determine something as soon as possible. I'll ask you to deal with this letter." Gandalf took out the merchant's suicide note from the monster cave and handed it to Mo Tie, saying, "If you really don't want to, you can find a postman in the town."

Mo Tie nodded to show that he understood.

"Gandalff, I wish you good luck."

"Thank you, Ain. Someone will give me the way." Gandalf said mysteriously.

After half a day, Mo Tie followed the direction given by Gandalf and came to a large town, preparing to find a hotel to rest.

When he entered the city, he looked up to find the hotel logo. The towns in Middle-earth mainland are similar in style. The shops that open will insert wooden boards at the door with some patterns carved on them to tell people the business scope of the store.

On the wooden board of the blacksmith shop is an anvil and a hammer; the weapon shop carves two crossed steel swords; the tavern carves a glass of bubbles on it...Mo Tie saw a strange pattern, which was actually four shields connected together, and he couldn't tell what it was for.

I opened the wooden door and walked in. It turned out to be a hotel, which also provides various delicacies and placed on the earth. This should be called a hotel.

There were more than a dozen tables in the hall, each with a separate oil lamp. Most of the seats were already there, and several bards were playing flutes and singing to others.

Mo Tie casually found an empty table and sat down. A female waiter immediately came over with a friendly smile.

This is probably a benefit from appearance.

"Hello, what do you need?"

"Some meat, and two more bread."

"Okay, please wait."

Mo Tie took out the only bottle of black thorn honey wine left from his backpack. The wizard's backpack was magical and had everything inside.

Someone secretly looked over next to him. It was obvious that the bottle of wine was not something that could be seen in this area. Some people were also trying to get close to Mo Tietao and try it with a glass of black thorn honey wine, but when they saw that he was an elf, they gave up.

I heard that elves are not easy to deal with, just like dwarves.

After using the meal, Mo Tiehua opened a room with 10 silver coins and asked the boss to inform him if a postman passes by.

When he went upstairs, Mo Tie also called a female minstrel to the room, listening to the hymns of heroes from Middle Earth, while reading the story book "The Queen of the Wolf Heart" in the hotel room.

The light drum beats, and the melodious female voices sang the battle between Gondor Kingdom and Mordor. Through the lyrics, he witnessed a heroic battle of the century.

In the middle of the night, the hard-cover book of "The Queen of Wolf Heart" turned to the last page, and the oil lamp gradually became dim. Mo Tie covered the sheepskin mattress and entered his dream.

The next morning, the hotel owner's knock on the door woke Mo Tie up.

"Sir, I hope it didn't disturb you. The postman is already waiting below." The boss said politely why he knocked on the door.

"Oh, yes, thank you."

Mo Tie picked up the merchant’s suicide note and went downstairs.

The postman was a young man dressed in a ragged dress. He was waiting respectfully at the door of the store and saw an elf coming down from the upper floor and tighten his legs even more.

"For you, sir."

No one doubts Mo Tie's elf identity, pure gold long hair, handsome appearance, and tall figure. Even a human prince does not have such temperament.

Therefore, the postman subconsciously responded to Mo Tie's politeness.

"There is a letter I picked up, and the address and the recipient are written on it. You can keep the reward of the recipient yourself." Mo Tie handed over the merchant's suicide note, took out another gold coin, and put it in the postman's hand, "One gold coin, postage."

The young postman panicked and stammered and refused: "Sir, no...no gold coins are needed. I have sent such a letter, and the recipient will definitely pay."

Mo Tie pressed his shoulder and said, "This letter is a bit worn and has been a long time. If you can't find the recipient, it will be a waste of time; or the recipient can't afford the postage. You should take it, I'm not short of money."

The postman thankfully promised repeatedly that he would hand it to the recipient in person, and then wrapped the letter in a brand new piece of kraft paper and placed it solemnly at the bottom of the parcel.

Saw the postman away, the hotel owner next to him smiled and said, "Sir, you are a kind elf."

When I woke up early, I had nothing to do, so Mo Tie ordered an apple cheese to try it, and chatted with the boss.

"Lawrence, why are there four shields drawn on the sign at your door?" Mo Tie asked curiously, the hotel owner was named Lawrence.

"My store is called Four Shield Hotel," Lawrence explained, and mentioned the origin of the name again. "I have three brothers. When we were very young, my father made four small wooden shields for us. The second brother Talyon asked my father, why don't we make four small wooden swords? I will never forget my father's answer at that time. He said that because four shields can protect all directions, the wooden swords will make you stab each other."

Mo Tie licked the cream on the corner of his mouth and said, "Then your brothers must have a good relationship?"

"Oh, not." Lawrence sighed, "A few years ago, our younger brother died in the mouth of the orcs. The eldest brother thought I had not protected him well and left angrily. The second brother Talyon became a ranger and rarely went home. The three of us brothers had not met for several years.

"Sometimes, I remembered what my father once said, questioning whether I really didn't protect my brother. In order to commemorate my poor brother, I opened this Four Shield Hotel and told this story to the travelers passing by, hoping that everyone understands how important family is."

"So that's the case. Did your elder brother never come back?" Mo Tie picked up the second apple cheese.

"No." Lawrence said in a low voice, "I suspect he has been killed, but I have never received his letter, so when I see your actions, I even envy the recipient of your letter."

Mo Tie narrowed his eyes and comforted Lawrence: "Don't worry, Lawrence, maybe your elder brother is just too far away from you."

"I hope so. I hope to see him come back more than a suicide note." Lawrence stood up and walked over to take away the plate that Mo Tiek had come out.

"By the way, Mr. Elf, can you take the liberty to ask your name?"

"Just call me Ain."

"Okay, Ain. Have you moved in this town? My wife went back to her hometown yesterday. She will probably come back at noon today. Then I will accompany you to visit other places in the town."

Lawrence swept away the gloom of the past. Maybe this story has been told to many people, and he can control his emotions freely.

"That happens. I plan to stay here for a while." Mo Tie said. He was going to the Mercenary Tavern to check the bounty mission and clear the orc gathering place near the town. It would take about half a month.

At noon, a beautiful woman walked into the hotel with a horse-skin bag in her hand. She greeted her as soon as she entered the door, "Hey, Lawrence, do you miss me?"

"Isolda, you're back." Lawrence said with a smile.

"Yes, I haven't seen me for a day. Are you about to cry?" Isolda put down the package, walked into the counter, circled Lawrence's neck, and asked charmingly.

The guests turned to look at the counter, laughing, waiting for Lawrence's answer.

"Okay, my dear, I miss you very much. I secretly cried in the quilt for the middle of the night." Lawrence cooperated with his wife with laughter and tears.
