Chapter 892: The Disciples of Treasures (Part 2)
Xu Changqing also admires someone who can modify his Duobao Sutra to such a face. After all, his Duobao Sutra has not been long since its birth. If the time for spread is eliminated, the person who modified the sutra may only take a short month, or even less time to modify the Duobao Sutra to its current appearance.
Although Xu Changqing did not bury the mantras or confuse the scriptures in the Duobao Sutra, and make the Duobao Sutra as easy to understand as possible, the ability to re-compile the Duobao Sutra in such a short time is still enough to prove that the person who revised the sutra is very familiar with various scriptures. This can also be seen from the content of the revised Duobao Sutra, and the only people who can understand the scriptures in various sects in Wanfo Mountain are the ascetic monks from the sutras and treatises.
Long before Duobao's clone entered the Buddha realm, Xu Changqing had heard of the name of the ascetic monks in the Buddha realm. Although these ascetic monks may be far from comparable to the top-level strong people in the Buddha realm in terms of their cultivation, when it comes to their understanding of Buddhist scriptures and mastery of Buddhism, I am afraid that even the masters of several great sects and sects cannot compare with them. At each lecture meeting in the Buddha realm, various sects and schools would invite some sutras and sects to explain Buddhist scriptures, or let these ascetic monks have a sutra debate meeting.
The Duobao Sect Temple founded by the ascetic monk is located on the edge of Wanfo Mountain. According to the location, it is directly opposite to Sumi Lingshan. Obviously, Sumi Lingshan, as the holy mountain in the Buddha realm, has a different position in the minds of these ascetic monks.
This was originally a summer resort manor of the city lord of the nearby mortal city-state. When Duobao Sect was founded, it was given to the ascetic monks of the sutras and treatises. The ascetic monks did not carry out large-scale reconstruction of the manor, but only removed some of the excess decorations in the manor and returned to a simple posture.
Compared with the temples of other sects, the temple of Duobao Sect, which has not been established for a long time, seems extremely simple. In addition, the ascetic monks themselves are indifferent to material requirements and attach importance to classics to make this place more like a large book collection manor, rather than a temple of a sect. Except for a few rooms used as a meditation room, the other rooms are all used to store Buddhist scriptures. Even the ascetic monks themselves do not have a house to live in. They will randomly choose to meditate under a sala tree inside and outside the manor every day when they rest, without changing the wind and rain.
Although Xu Changqing disdained the ascetic practices pursued by those ascetic monks, he admired their spirits very much. Decades of ascetic practices have condensed the souls of these ascetic monks to a state of restraint and unpretentiousness. Apart from the realm of cultivation, just by the strength of the soul, no ascetic monk is much worse than the soul of the Tao that has been exposed to the great way of heaven and earth.
When Xu Changqing came to this temple, the ascetic scholars and scholars were opening the altar about the reincarnation of the Duobao Sutra. Because the manor itself did not have an altar, the ascetic monks temporarily tamped and leveled the land in front of the manor. A large square was built, and a wooden high platform was built in the center of the square to serve as the ascetic monk's preaching seat.
Whether it is a square, an elevated tower, or the manor, the houses and buildings that have been repaired are not built with magical powers, but are built bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit by bit. Most ascetic monks regard Buddha Yuan and supernatural powers as demonic obstacles. Radical ascetic monks will even take the initiative to break them apart when they appear in their own body and let them integrate them into their physical body. Although the ascetic monks in the Sutra and Treatise School are not so radical, they also do not like to use Buddha Yuan and supernatural powers. In their opinion, practicing by themselves is the best way to practice.
It is precisely because of his contempt for Buddha and supernatural powers that the ascetic scenes of the ascetic monks do not have the gorgeous and gorgeous scenes that other sects of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas show when they preach. There is nothing like the sky falling or flying in the sky, and even the water and land Dharma assembly in the secular world is not as good as the water and land Dharma assembly. It is just a person standing on a high platform, slowly talking about his understanding of the Buddhist path. After saying that, he will ask the people below to ask questions and then answer them. This way of saying this makes Xu Changqing feel that it is somewhat similar to the Confucian lectures in the Spring and Autumn Period.
After Xu Changqing came to the temple, he found a place to sit down like an ordinary ascetic monk and believers. Listening quietly to the people on the platform, most of them were mortals from nearby city-states. From the fact that no one held a reprinted Duobao Sutra, it can be seen that the spread of Duobao Sutra in the mortal city-state of the Buddha Realm far exceeded Xu Changqing's expectation. Except for mortals, most of the rest were ascetic monks from Duobao Sect. There was also a small number of people, about a dozen people, which seemed to be some eye-ear spies sent by Buddhist sects around Duobao Sect. None of the ascetic monks of Duobao Sect were cared about this, and even knew everything about these people's questions. It seemed that these ascetic monks wanted to use this completely confession method to lower the vigilance of the surrounding sects.
It has to be said that these ascetic monks have a very rich interpretation of the Duobao Sutra. Each sentence can find the corresponding Buddha's teachings from various Buddhist scriptures. Some Buddhist principles that Xu Changqing had not even thought about when he wrote them became more perfect and reasonable through the interpretation of the Ascetic monks. Even the creator of the Duobao Sutra couldn't help but applaud and praised them for their interpretation of the scriptures, and even made him, the writer of the Duobao Sutra, have a deeper understanding of the Duobao Sutra.
The person who preached on the high platform was one of the eight ascetic monks who founded the Duobao Sect, named Maduoye. Before that, he was a very famous ascetic monk in Wanfoshan. He was famous for his Buddhist arguments and had visited the Buddha's Vehicles and Bodhisattva Vehicles and other major sects to debate Buddhism many times. He was also the first ascetic monk to discover the magic of the Duobao Sect. It is said that he personally went to see Jiayala who preached in the mortal city-state. He did not hesitate to lower his identity and seek advice from a mortal who had reached the realm of great achiever with his cultivation and listened to him to teach the Duobao Sect. With his understanding, it is not difficult to hear that the Duobao Sect taught by Jiayala is the way of mortal cultivation and is not consistent with his practice. However, he felt that there was a deeper true meaning of Buddhist principles hidden in the Duobao Sect, so he organized his fellow Taoists in Wanfoshan to recompile and supplement the Duobao Sect, and finally formed the current version of the Duobao Sect.
Although this version of the Duobao Sutra is more suitable for Buddhist practitioners who have achieved the fruit of Taoism, Moduoye and other ascetic monks did not abandon the part of the mortal practice in it, and even added some supernatural powers to use the method based on the Baojing Glazed Vajra Realm. These ascetic monks disdain to use supernatural powers, but they know a lot of supernatural powers, and most of them use the supernatural powers of the Buddhist golden body, which is in line with the golden body condensed by the Duobao Sutra through the power of the vows.
"I wonder what does the Duobao Sutra that the master just explained have to do with the Duobao Sutra that I heard in the mortal city?" Xu Changqing pretended to be a wandering ascetic monk with a low level of cultivation. When Moduoye explained the method of mortal practice of the Duobao Sutra to the believers below, he suddenly interrupted loudly.
"One tree and two branches." Moduoye seemed to be the first time he answered this question, so he quickly gave the answer, and then saluted Xu Changqing and said, "I have never seen a fellow Taoist before, and I don't know where my friend has practiced?"
In fact, after Xu Changqing arrived at the square, he had already attracted the attention of the ascetic monks of Duobao Sect such as Moduoye. After all, they had been in this place for many years and knew very well about the people and things in this place. An unknown ascetic monk suddenly appeared and it would be difficult to not let them pay attention. If such monks from the side came, they would not care too much. But now it was the beginning of the creation of Duobao Sect. Any movement may have a certain impact on Duobao Sect, which forced them to be mentally guarded against any abnormal movements.
Faced with Modoye's tentative inquiry, Xu Changqing also smiled, clasped his ten thousand and said, "I am practicing in the ten directions."
Hearing Xu Changqing's answer, the ascetic monks frowned and thought to themselves that they were slick. Although Modoye asked a vague question, the inquiry was very obvious, and they wanted to ask Xu Changqing's origin of his teacher. Xu Changqing simply pretended to be confused and gave a completely correct but absolutely inappropriate answer. He took the inquiry over and made Modoye unable to find any mistakes for a while, and did not know how to continue testing.
On the contrary, Xu Changqing took advantage of Moduoye's time to think about how to continue asking him, and asked again: "Since the Duobao Sutra is in the same place, why are they different? Who should we readers take the authenticity?"
"Of course I am the authentic one." Moduoye could have fought back with a smooth answer, but now Xu Changqing is asking about the orthodox question of the Duobao Sutra, which is the foundation of the establishment of the Duobao Sect. Naturally, he cannot be treated vaguely, and can only answer based on his heart.
"As far as I know, the Duobao Sutra is Hanpu. The two Zen masters of Jiayala were taught by the nameless master. They first spread it in the mortal city-state. The master then worshiped and listened to the mortal city-state and gained great enlightenment. They founded the Duobao Sect with all the masters." Xu Changqing asked step by step, saying, "Since the Duobao Sutra of the Master originated from Jiayala, if it comes to authenticity, it is naturally the Duobao Sutra of the mortal city-state that is authentic. Why does the master think that his Duobao Sutra is authentic?"
Modow said without any ambiguity: "Although my scriptures come from ordinary people's city-states, I have also listened to the Dharma and taught the scriptures under Master Jiayala's seat, the authenticity of the Buddhist scriptures is no longer the time and source, but the size of the Tao. My treasure scriptures are more in line with the true meaning of the Buddha. The great way is the ultimate principle, which can save others and oneself, sail on a boat in the sea of suffering, and the golden bridge on the other side is the scriptures of the Mahayana Great Sage. The scriptures taught by the two masters Jiayala and Hanpu are ordinary scriptures. They can only save themselves, not save others, do not hear the great way, and only practice supernatural powers. This is the scriptures of the Hinayana small saints. In this regard, it is naturally the authenticity of me."
"Okay, good, a great theory of Taoism." Xu Changqing smiled, then stood up, stepped down to the high platform, and said, "I have a passage of scripture that also originated from the Duobao Sutra. I wonder if I can tell you here to confirm some of the gains from each other?"
