Chapter five hundred and eight Voldemort's concerns
The fire in the fireplace leaps, adding a touch of warmth to the cold and airy walls at night.
But all the warmth disappeared when the eyes touched the speaker.
Voldemort sat directly in front of the fireplace, behind him was burning firewood. This position was closest to the flames, but the shadows cast were much deeper than others. In addition to seeing his outline, the most conspicuous ones of the Death Eaters were their red eyes and pale skin.
"Severus?" He looked at the seat next to his right.
"The Longbottoms confirmed that they had returned to the Order of the Phoenix. They seemed to have been granted a separate mission, but they had not found any specific information. It is not ruled out that they were following Dumbledore's instructions, and the target was someone here."
There was a slight commotion at the long table, some people were uneasy to adjust their sitting posture, but some were very excited.
"Master, let me go - let me find them, I will catch them." A dark-skinned woman said excitedly. Judging from her outline, she must have been very beautiful when she was young, but years of prison have caused a permanent change in her appearance and temperament, of course, to the worse.
Her cheeks were thin, her eyes were bulging, and her black curly hair was randomly pressed against her head.
"Bellatrix, I don't doubt this, you've done it before." Voldemort looked at her with red eyes, "but you have something more important to do." After saying that, he stopped looking at her and said to Snape, "Is there anything else?"
“The Ministry of Magic and Future World have reached an agreement on the matter of protecting the thief waterfall, and I have to admit that this will have a significant impact on our cause.”
The commotion this time became even more obvious, and the Death Eaters exchanged uneasy eyes.
"It's that person's company..."
"We cannot allow such a thing to happen!" a Death Eater shouted, "We should organize an attack immediately-" Many people followed suit, and the room was in chaos.
"Would you like to take the lead, Selwin?" Voldemort asked softly, his voice easily overshadowing the hustle and bustle present.
The Death Eaters stopped talking, their eyes became dodging. Finally, they all looked at the wizard who was talking at the beginning. Selwin stuttered, "Lord, Master, if this is your will, I, I will--"
Voldemort smiled.
"You don't have to sacrifice yourself yet," said Voldemort lazily. "I can almost conclude that the Ministry of Magic and Felix Hepp will definitely be on guard... We must adapt to the new rules of war. Felix Hepp has created a lot of gadgets, some of which are unexpectedly useful... Is the Ring of the Utrodos, this name? Utrodos, huh?" His scarlet snake eyes stared at Snape.
"Yes," Snape whispered, "he used it as his mark in his early years, and I think there are many people here who know it," the Death Eaters either frown or shook their heads. "The symbol disappeared afterwards with his graduation, and it did not reappear until he returned to Hogwarts to teach and found his own professors club."
Voldemort made an unknown sound.
"Professor Club, Ourobosnake...Severus, I thought this was the gift of return you prepared for me."
Snape lowered his head, "Master, I have to admit that he is the most ambitious and well-organized person I have ever taught."
"You are right. I can imagine how he looked at school..." Voldemort said in a low voice: "I couldn't understand why Felix Hepp came so promptly. I also wondered if anyone among you betrayed me, but this newspaper gave me the answer." A newspaper floated up from his hand and slowly moved on the long table.
The Death Eaters raised their heads from their respective positions and leaned forward to see clearly, but Voldemort obviously didn't have the patience to let them read them one by one. "It's very clear above that Porter and the three of them attracted help through the Ring of the Utoubona."
"What's more? I believe many of you have heard that even used the products of the "Future World" company. I am very interested in the sound transmission mirror. Although it is said that it can be connected with limited distances, it is foreseeable that the situation of the war has changed. With its unique mark, we once led the Order of the Phoenix and the Ministry of Magic more than a decade ago, but now we are back on the same starting line."
"Master, what do you mean?"
"It would be better if we could counter the magic." Voldemort said slowly, "Let's talk about the anti-thief waterfall, which will interfere with the speed of our expansion team, even though we can knock on the door of the target's home, drag them out of the warm and comfortable bed, and use our family to threaten them to do things for us-"
Everyone laughed loudly.
"This is what I'm good at, master!" A Death Eater voiced his loyalty.
"Thank you - Rodolphus, you'll have this opportunity." Voldemort said without any emotion, "but like I said, it will get in the way of us, and who can come up with a solution?"
"Master, even with the thief waterfall, we can still obtain various information through the familiar network of relationships."
Voldemort showed an interesting expression.
"I've looked at you with admiration, Selwin, do you have a good candidate?"
"There is one, her surname is Umbridge. She has always been flattering me in the past and brags about being a relative of the Selwin family. But everyone knows that she has a cleaner's father. I just responded casually because she was once Foggy's confidant...I'm sure she asked her to help me pass the message." Selwin said respectfully.
"I also know one. My nephew works in the Ministry of Magic and is the youngest supervisor. He has a good relationship with many Aurors," said another Death Eater.
"Very well, Avery, we have completely disgraced the Aurors' actions since losing Yaxley." Voldemort said with satisfaction, "but even if he died, he was contributing to our cause, and we are now meeting in his house."
Soon the Death Eaters began to discuss in a slight manner, and whether there were or not, they could tell a few acquaintances who worked in the Ministry of Magic. In total, they gathered about sixty or seventy people. Needless to say, these people were the targets of the Death Eaters' next action.
"Lucius."
"Yes, master—" Lucius Malfoy raised his head, met Voldemort's scarlet eyes, and hurriedly lowered his head.
"What's the news about McNeill and Lukewood?"
"I haven't found out yet," he replied in a low voice.
"I haven't found out yet," Voldemort repeated with a sound without ups and downs, and Lucius couldn't help but shivered. "Does this mean that you lost power in the Ministry of Magic?"
"Master, please give me some time! I'm trying to get in touch with the new minister, but that woman doesn't get in - she, she always follows Sirius Black, and that must be the one sent by the Order!"
"Sirius Black," Voldemort said, looking at Bellatrix, "If I remember correctly, he seems to be your cousin?"
"Yes, yes, master," she said excitedly, her body unable to resist moving forward, trying to get closer to Voldemort, "No, he is not my cousin, he is a shame, scum of the Black family, I wish I could kill him with my own hands."
"Then there are quite a few people you want to solve." Voldemort sneered.
Bellatrix seemed to be confused, "How--"
"Your niece recently joined the Order of the Phoenix and was very close to the werewolf. Should she really be a family? She even went further than your sister... When will I hear the news of their wedding? Are you going to give me a gift?"
Bellatrix glared at Snape fiercely, and all the information about the Order of the Phoenix was provided by him.
Snape's thin lips squeezed out a sarcastic smile.
"Master, she is not my niece. Since my sister married that mud breed, they have no relationship with the Black family." Bellatrix immediately distanced himself from the relationship, but her words did not satisfy Voldemort.
She felt this clearly, with a panic expression on her face, and she leaned forward even further, as if she was expressing her loyalty. "Master, I will not sit idly by and watch this happen - although they are willing to fall, I will never allow the blood of the Black family to be defiled one step closer. I promise you! Yes, Lucius, you don't want to have anything to do with the werewolf with Narcisa, right?"
"That's right." Lucius said dryly.
"Then let's do it right away and kill them before the next rally." Bellatrix said excitedly.
"I made an appointment with Sinnice, Senior Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Magic. If there is a conflict in time, I have to make a choice." Lucius muttered, "Master, I have two things to report to you."
Voldemort's eyes fell on him again.
Lucius said with a thorn in his mouth, "The first thing I met Hepp at the Ollivander wand shop. He was very unfriendly to me and reminded Ollivander to be careful of me in front of me, we."
"He does have a reason to do this," Voldemort said calmly, but his face was slightly twisted, like a pale snake against the backdrop of the fire, and the few people around him dared not look at him at all.
"A bad news, Lucius. I hope your second news will make everyone happy." Voldemort whispered.
"When, of course," Lucius said breathlessly: "I found out about Bode's exact location, he was sent to the St. Mungo Magic Injury Hospital, and was unconscious, and the Ministry of Magic had not had time to find an abnormality. But he would always get better, if he was allowed to reveal to the Ministry of Magic that we were pursuing prophecy-"
"Then he can't speak." Voldemort said, "Who is willing to solve this problem for me? Antonin, what do you say?"
"It's my honor, the great Dark Lord." said Antonin Dolokhov, a Death Eater with a twisted face, grinned.
...
When the meeting ended, Voldemort left Severus Snape alone.
He stared at the black night sky, regretting more than ever. Perhaps he would have been patiently waiting for a few months or even years, and he would have been able to get the most perfect resurrection - rebirth with the help of Harry Potter's blood, the blood of the man who made him lose his magic, flesh and power... In this way, the protection that Potter's mother left on him would also exist in his blood...
Regret and frustration torment Voldemort's heart. He was both determined to die and be resurrected again. This not only could he get rid of a strong enemy, but he would also make himself stronger. At least he would not be as passive as he is now.
But he really couldn't wait at that time.
On Christmas night, Felix Hepp and Dumbledore quietly raided Crouch's old house and left him with a huge psychological shadow. If he hadn't informed Barty of the fastest, the closest chance to resurrection in more than a decade might have been ruined. Especially when he learned that Barty was almost caught according to the scheduled plan and was almost caught.
Since then, he never dared to let Batty out of his sight.
He hesitated repeatedly, and the few months he made repeated choices were also the most feared period of time. He was afraid that Felix and Dumbledore would suddenly appear in the next second and take away his only loyal servant. I don't know how many years later if there is such a chance next time.
One thing he had not considered before was that his resurrection materials—the bones of his father, the flesh of his servants, and the blood of his enemies, were actually time-limited.
Perhaps in another hundred years he might have killed Dumbledore, but the enemies who are loyal to his Death Eaters, who hate and fear him, will disappear with time, when his name will decay faster than Dumbledore's body, how can he be resurrected?
Even though Voldemort thought he had defeated death, he was still forced to raise his head by time.
What's more, Felix Hepp had already made his mark by then, and quite a few people thought he would be the next Dumbledore-like figure.
When Voldemort was fine, he also read some gossip magazines that passed the time. The two factions quarreled. One side said that Felix Hepp had surpassed Dumbledore because he solved the riots in the Quidditch World Cup alone, which defeated hundreds of wizards head-on. Although Voldemort sneered at this, this statement was quite marketable; the other side clearly believed that although Felix Hepp was very strong, he was still far from the "greatest white wizard" Dumbledore. After all, Felix Hepp faced drunken wizard tourists in the World Cup, and those people were no different from the unarmed Muggles.
The only agreed view they reached was that Felix Hepp was the most promising person to replace Dumbledore in the future, because everyone was surprised to find that he was far from thirty years old.
Less than thirty years old!
This is also Voldemort's most vigilant point. Even if he really survived a hundred years and endured Dumbledore to death, the stumbling block that could stand in front of him would become Happ again.
So after repeated weighing, he chose to give up Harry Potter's blood and resurrected in seclusion.
But since his resurrection, all his plans have not gone smoothly. Apart from the ridiculous black demon nemesis Harry Potter and his brave and wise companion (the recent slogan of the Ministry of Magic), there is another ancient demonic professor. While he is trying hard to deny his failure in his heart, he cannot help but believe and doubt.
Especially he had really heard a prophecy about his fate, no, half. He turned around and looked at Snape, his red eyes were so rich that blood was dripping from his face, his expression seemed both profound and impatient.
"That prophecy repeats the prophecy you heard."
"Don't you change a word?"
"Don't change a word."
Snape stumbled, not like his own voice, as if he had returned to the ragged tavern in 1980, his lips trembled. He said in a hoarse voice: "The person who has the ability to defeat the Dark Lord is approaching... born in a family that has resisted him three times... born at the end of July..."
The dim room returned to silence. After a while, Snape said dryly, "Master, I only heard this, and then I was discovered and driven out by the waiter of Pighead Bar."
Voldemort didn't answer, and seemed to be in deep thought.
What is the complete prophecy like? Is there any...is Felix Hepp mentioned? Or... his own ending?
"Master-?" Snape raised his voice, his tone still without any emotion.
"You can leave here and continue to collect information for me." Voldemort paused slightly and said, "If you have the chance to get the whereabouts of Amelia Bones, she has already posed a threat."
"But master, I don't have any informants in the Ministry of Magic-"
"Using that Sirius Black, have they been very close lately?"
