Chapter 5 My Junior High School Career

I have now felt the rules. The stronger the reaction of the scissors magic weapon in my body, the stronger the aura hidden in the cultural relics. The inconspicuous porcelain jar in front of me, which is definitely a good thing. Although the rich airflow is much less than that of bronze ware, it is far better than Teacher Ma’s inkstone and the book “Thirty-Six Arts of Taoist Cang”.

When the airflow entered my mind, I suddenly felt a pain in my eyebrows, as if someone had stabbed the steel needle. I screamed lowly and subconsciously closed my eyes.

In the darkness, I actually "see" the dark and mottled scissors in my mind emitted a ball of golden light, as if they had turned into a little sun.

Then, without waiting for me to observe carefully, I felt a headache in my head. The scissors had a strong suction force, and it seemed that something was being pulled away from my body. I couldn't resist at all, and I fainted on the ground in a flash, completely losing consciousness.

I don’t know how long it took before I heard a squeaking sound from my ears. I barely opened my eyes and found Ah Huang squatting on my chest.

It saw me wake up and then jumped away.

Shaking my swollen head, I turned my head to look around, and suddenly I found that the world became different. The blurred villages on the other side of the river became clearer... The fishy smell of the soil under my feet, the fragrance of flowers and plants... The smells within a dozen feet of feet of the surroundings poured into my nostrils. Various small sounds also came from my ears, and I could even clearly hear the sound of bees vibrating their wings not far away. It seemed that after a sleep, my vision, smell, and hearing became sharper.

This change in the body should be caused by the magic weapon of scissors. As soon as I thought about it, the rusty scissors appeared in my mind.

It seemed to have changed, and a piece of rust on the surface that was originally rusted disappeared, revealing a golden piece.

It turns out that the implicit aura in the cultural relics is so good! Intuition tells me that if I continue to look for cultural relics to absorb, the scissors magic weapon in my mind will become more and more powerful, and one day I will even be summoned out.

"Ah Huang, you go down the river to look for it, and see if there is any other thing?" I hurriedly shouted when I thought of this.

"Zhizhi" Ah Huang seemed to understand what I said, twisted his body and disappeared from the water again.

I remember listening to the Chinese teacher that our country used to be underdeveloped in the past. In the south, it relied on ships to transport by water, while in the north, it used mules and horses to carry goods on land. This is the origin of the southern ships and northern horses.

The big river in our village flows into the Tangbai River, then into the Han River, and finally along with the Yangtze River. Because of this reason, Liaoyang Town used to be very developed in business, and large ships from the south would stay here, and exchange carriages to transport the goods to the north.

The ships coming and going will inevitably have accidents. For thousands of years, I don’t know how many shipwrecks have been in this river, and there must be many cultural relics inside.

Ah Huang quickly confirmed my guess. Less than ten minutes after going down the river, it took out another porcelain jar, and the hidden aura inside was also absorbed by the scissors magic weapon. This time I did not faint again.

This discovery made me very excited, and asked Ah Huang to continue working hard and continue to go down the river to find the jars and jars.

Unfortunately, Ah Huang swam down the river for a long time, and finally came ashore with a squeak. It seemed that there were no shipwrecks nearby.

After so much trouble, the green fish on the wooden rack was roasted. In order to reward Ah Huang, I specially distributed most of the fish to it.

After eating and drinking, seeing that the sun was no longer vicious, I took off my clothes and went down the river to take a bath naked.

Ah Huang also got into the river to join in the fun. At this moment, he actually caught another carp.

After I took this big carp home, my mother exclaimed and asked where she got it.

I can only say that I was touching the river by myself. It doesn’t matter if I say this. My mother picked up her slippers and beat me up. She called me, “I asked you to go to the river to take a shower. I didn’t change it many times. What if something happens?”

I could only grin and beg for mercy, and promised that I would not dare to do so.

After fighting, my mother made soup with big carp in the evening, and our family had a delicious meal.

In the days that followed, when Ah Huang came out, I would bring a fish home every now and then, and even got an old turtle again, saying that it was caught in the river. My parents had no doubts about this. Children who grew up by the river all had great skills in catching fish.

While catching fish, I did not give up asking Ah Huang to look for cultural relics. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. There were three wrecks near the river in our village. Under my command, Ah Huang went in and explored them all. The first time I picked up the shore was the cloth, which had been fermented for so many years. When I got it, I started to tear it into pieces. There was no breath for the scissor magic weapon to absorb. The second wreck was filled with clay pots, and only a small amount of porcelain was caught by Ah Huang. Those clay pots were held in the hand and the scissor magic weapon did not react at all. It was obviously not breathable.

As for the third shipwreck that was less than four meters deep, I went into the water and explored it myself. The cabin was empty. According to my speculation, the ship was soon sunk and was salvaged.

Through this period of experiment, I have a new understanding of the scissor magic weapon. It is not interested in all ancient things, only part of the breath contained in it will be absorbed.

My treasure hunting career didn't last long, and Liaoyang Junior High School admission letter was sent home. Since a new second junior high school was built in the town this year, the originally fiercely competitive entrance examination became dull and everyone could go to junior high school.

I was about to leave the village, and I began to worry about Ah Huang. I couldn't bring it to school. If other students saw it, I would have to be reported to the teacher.

I didn't think about what to do, so I could only let it continue to stay in the village. Anyway, with Ah Huang's ability, I couldn't be hungry at all.

In 1997, Hong Kong returned, and this year, I went to the first year of junior high school.

When I entered the new school, I was surrounded by strange students, and I couldn’t help feeling lonely. On the lonely days, I naturally miss homesickness, as well as the magic weapon of scissors and Ah Huang in my mind.

When I’m bored, I treat them as friends who can listen to my own voice.

The teacher on the podium read aloud in Mandarin: "The Master said, 'If you study without thinking, you will be confused; if you die without learning, you will be in danger'. Which student can say what it means?"

I turned a deaf ear and translated it in accordance with the "Interpretation of Ancient Texts" in my hand. "Interpretation of Ancient Texts" was published by the school at the beginning of the school year, which helped us understand several classical Chinese articles in junior high school. This is very useful for me to translate "Daozang". Some of the sentences in it can be read smoothly. Of course, I still don't know what the talismans behind "Daozang" are.

Finally, I ended up on the first Sunday after school starts. Not only me, but almost everyone is home. Even Su Junjie and the others left the school early and didn't wait for me. Two unkind guys!!

I walked home alone with my schoolbag, enjoying the warm autumn sun. The breeze blew the leaves on the road rustling. I looked up and expanded the sky and the earth, and a few egrets flew past my head. I inexplicably raised a few traces of sorrow that was inconsistent with my age, and longed for one day to fly freely like a bird, so that this world would no longer bind me.

Since the scissor magic weapon in my body absorbed the breath several times, I feel that I have become much more sensitive, and my thoughts are heavier than my peers.

Everything in the village is the same. The only change is that there are fewer young people in the village. Liaoyang Town is located in the mainland and the pace of reform and opening up is much later than that of the southern coast. It was not until 1997 that going south to work became a way for people to make a living.

My parents were not willing to be lonely. Shortly after I entered junior high school, they sold the oxen and joined the army of the south with the villagers.

Grandma lives with her second uncle's house. Now our house is deserted and there is no one to watch the door. She gets the keys from her second uncle's house. As soon as she opens the door, Ah Huang can't wait to greet her. The little guy climbs along my pants and crawls into his arms and squeaks, as if he blames me for not leaving it alone.

Without the restraint of adults, I became much more free. After staying at home for less than half an hour, I took Ah Huang to catch a big fish in Liaoyang River, and stewed fish soup at my own home to eat at night.

In the 1990s, the junior high school in our place only lasted one day. When we got home on Saturday afternoon, we had to rush to school on Sunday. Seeing me leaving, Ah Huang was reluctant to leave and sent it all the way. It was not until it was about to enter the school that it turned around and crawled into the cornfield next to it and disappeared.

In the second week of school, I became familiar with the school and finally found a good place to go, that is, the school’s library. Generally, the libraries of rural schools are decorated and students are not allowed to borrow them at all, for fear of affecting their studies. The principal of our junior high school is an old scholar, but the management in this regard is relatively relaxed. Students can borrow books from the library after class.

Of course, there are more textbooks in the library, and there are very few learning books like test collections, and there are only a few books of "Youth Digest" and "Readers". Most of these leisure books are borrowed by teachers and are difficult for students to borrow.

The remaining are books donated by some alumni, including those who talk about Marxism and books on traditional Chinese medicine health preservation.

Not to mention that students are not interested in this type of book, even teachers rarely borrow it. After seeing it, I felt like I had a treasure. I borrowed a vernacular version of "Huangdi Neijing Health Preservation" and went back to the classroom, and sat down to read it with relish.

"Essence, Qi and Spirit" are mentioned. According to the explanation in this book: "Essence, Qi and Spirit are originally concepts in ancient philosophy, which refer to the primitive matter that forms all things in the universe, just like elements in chemistry. Essence, Qi and Spirit are the foundation of the human body's life activities and are called the Three Treasures of the human body. The origin of human life is "Essence", and the driving force for maintaining life is "Qi", and the manifestation of life is the activity of "Shen". If the essence is filled, the energy is filled, and the spirit is full; if the essence is deficient, the energy is weak, and the spirit is weak, and the spirit is less. On the other hand, the spirit is strong. If the spirit is strong, the energy is sufficient, and the energy is sufficient, the essence is filled."
