Chapter 174

After Lanze bypassed the service area, a large fence appeared in front of him. He could not see where the starting point was, nor where the end point was. It was endless.

He checked the map and found that it was a large farm.

This farm is close to the road. After Lanze took a long detour around the service area, he happened to be heading towards the big farm.

It's hard to get around this farm, it's too big. It would be easier if you could walk through the middle.

Lan Ze looked in both directions. There was no one around.

Taking a closer look, you can see that there are many trees growing in the fence. In winter, the branches are dull and leafless. It looks like the forest is sparse and the trees are crowded with shrubs.

The fence in front of him was nearly a person high. From a distance, it looked like there were gaps between the several layers of horizontal bars, but in fact it was covered with barbed wire. Although he didn't know whether it was electrified or not, the thorns on the barbed wire were enough to hurt people.

If you want to get in, you must first remove the barbed wire.

Lan Ze felt that people were about to die and didn't want to cause damage. So he had no choice.

He walked along the fence towards the road. After walking for a while, he couldn't help but stop and look into the farm.

Only a narrow white driveway could be seen between the trees, and the buildings on the farm could not be seen in any direction.

After walking a few more steps, Lan Ze discovered that the bottom of the barbed wire fence seemed to be loosely wrapped. He couldn't decide whether to seal it tightly for others, or to open it and climb in.

I was hesitant, so I inevitably looked at it for a while.

"What are you looking at?"

Suddenly a voice came out.

Lan Ze looked around.

"Did you have meal?"

The man asked again.

"No." Lanze replied.

A man stepped on an electric agricultural vehicle and appeared silently in the woods.

"Come in." He greeted from above.

"Hmm." Lanze wasn't sure whether that person was teasing him.

However, the lift on the agricultural vehicle had already moved. It rose to the guardrail and then folded back down. Although it could not reach the ground, it was enough for him to climb over.

Lanze climbed into the fence along the ladder, stood on the car and took a look, and found that there seemed to be a pit under the guardrail of the farm.

"Isn't this too obvious for you?" Lan Ze pointed at the pit and said.

"Can you tell from the outside?"

"I can't tell."

"Then it's over."

The tram started to move while retracting the ladder. The man asked him again, "What are you doing? Surviving in the wild? Are you alone?"

There are a lot of problems.

"Yes." Lanze replied.

"Tsk tsk tsk, I admire you. Are you not afraid of wolves?"

"What? Wolf? Are there wolves around here?" Lan Ze was more curious than frightened.

"Yes." The man pointed to the loopholes in the barbed wire that appeared at the foot of the guardrail and the big hole inside. "It's a trap. Unfortunately, this thing is too sophisticated to be fooled."

"I didn't see the wolf."

"Then you're in luck."

The agricultural vehicle followed the long and slender driveway, undulating among the trees. It took a while before a low shed was seen.

"Are you alone here?" Lanze asked.

"Have you seen anyone else?" the man asked him.

Okay. Lanze shut up. Originally, he wanted to ask what kind of trees were planted on the farm.

The shed doesn't look high, but it's actually quite big.

The man parked the car under the tool shed, took Lanze and walked back.

"There is water here, you can wash up."

Under the awning in front of the house, there is a long pool. It is probably the tap water installed by the farm itself from a deep well.

"Can this water be drunk?" Lanze asked.

"No. The drinking water is in it."

"Thank you." Lan Ze put down his backpack and went to the sink to wash his hands and wipe his face.

After sleeping in the wilderness for days without water to wash your face, it is inevitable that your face will be dirty. Just using water will not clean your face, so at least you can refresh your face and cheer up your spirit.

"What do you think we're going to eat?" The man entered the room and shouted inside. "Hahaha, I'm so lucky to meet you!"

This man seemed to be in a bad mood. However, Lan Ze was also curious about what to eat.

"Can I help?" Lanze picked up his backpack and entered the house.

Inside is a huge kitchen.

"That's very helpful!" The man said happily in front of a big iron pot. "Come and serve it! It will be stewed as soon as you come back. It's so good of you to come!"

Looking at the hot stew in the big pot, Lan Ze decided not to talk nonsense.

I'm ready to die anyway. If there's any danger, let's talk about it after eating.

Lan Ze took a stainless steel basin and filled it with soup and meat. He grabbed the chopsticks and put them into his mouth.

The fiber of this meat is very thick, there is no fat, but it is fragrant.

Reason told him that this could not be human meat stewed by a murderer. Human meat should be tenderer than this and have more fat. This is because human beings generally lack exercise and are over-nourished, and the species' innate talent is to store fat.

"What kind of meat is this?" Lan Ze asked curiously.

"Wild boar." The man also filled a bowl of meat and ate it, his mouth very busy.

"You still raise wild boars?"

"It's a long story."

After eating a few mouthfuls in silence, the man put down the basin and started talking more.

He took pictures with his wristband, aiming at Lan Ze who was chewing meat in a basin and the steaming iron pot. He kept taking pictures and kept talking, but he didn't say a word to Lan Ze.

After struggling for a while, Lanze slowly ate half of the bowl. The man stopped, picked up the bowl, and continued to eat the meat by himself. After he took a big mouthful, he remembered, "What did you ask me just now?"

"Well," Lan Ze swallowed a mouthful of pork, "I want to ask you, did you raise the wild boar yourself?"

"How is that possible?"

Speaking of which, it is really unclear whether the meat they eat is wild boar or domestic pig.

Otherwise it would be a long story?

This man’s surname is Jia. His dream life is to build his own big farm and grow whatever he wants.

This is the life he is living now.

He has owned the farm for ten years, and he mainly grows walnuts.

Lan Ze said with shame: He didn't know the walnut tree.

However, walnuts do not make money, and they mainly rely on Chinese medicinal herbs grown in the forest.

Farmer Jia talked for a long time, but he didn't mention the pigs. He kept bragging excitedly about growing what he wanted to eat and how wonderful this life was.

"Then you are usually alone and you are not lonely?" Lanze deliberately avoided the topic.

"There are usually people. Now that the work is done, the workers are on vacation." Farmer Jia explained. "Otherwise, why would I need such a big kitchen?"

This angle is very convincing and makes sense.

"As long as someone does technical maintenance, that's me." Farmer Jia pointed his thumb at himself.

"Are you also responsible for digging holes to catch wolves and wild boars?"

It seems like your life is a little exciting?

Farmer Jia laughed loudly, "I didn't kill the wild boar."

A while ago, a group of student soldiers from the military academy came out to "re-walk the Long March" for long-distance training.

They camped by the lake and encountered a wild boar.
