617. Merlin

George paused:

"Did Mordred do it?"

Gawain raised his eyebrows

"He met Mordred, but he only severely wounded Bedivere, and it was the lost members of the Knights who really took action.

"Do you remember the Holy Grail War?"

George replied:

"They're lost in the behind-the-scenes dimension."

Gawain nodded:

"I haven't seen them yet, but a girl told me about it, and Bedivere held them back and made her escape to me.

"Her name is Lei, and she brings bad news and blood."

George asked rhetorically:

"He finally chose a disciple?

"Perhaps he has anticipated his end. After all, it is unlikely to be a coincidence that he is inheriting his bloodline at this point in time."

Gawain said:

"But I also have an idea. Maybe he didn't expect the discovery of this matter, but someone thought that he was the one who guided Bedivere to leave the legacy.

"Can you think of any names?"

George knew who he was talking about.

The pure white knight showed a puzzled expression:

"Are you serious?

"Do you think Merlin foresaw his death but did nothing to prevent it from happening?"

Gawain said:

"He is a wizard who can predict the future, and he has this ability and the motivation to do so. After all, it is the blood flowing in Bedivere's body that he created.

"And he is King Arthur's subject, so he will continue to pass on the power that is guaranteed to belong to King Arthur."

George asked:

"Is this too cruel? He clearly had the ability to prevent this from happening, but he just watched Bedivere die?

"And if King Arthur knew about this, he would be furious at Merlin's actions."

Gawain smiled and shook his head:

"So I say, you are still a giant dragon. Even if you suppress your desires, you are not raised as a human being and cannot fully empathize with our race.

"Do you think all humans in the world are King Arthur? Or a degraded version of King Arthur? You know nothing about us. Humans like her are rare."

George denied:

"I know that."

Gawain said:

"But you don't realize that all of us are worse than we appear. Morality is not engraved in our blood. It is a kind of self-restraint. In any case, this kind of restraint is against instinct.

.

“Some people have a strong will to overcome their instincts, but most people will still succumb to their instincts in extreme circumstances, and there are a very small number of people who are the former, but they turn a blind eye to moral constraints.

"And strictly speaking, neither King Arthur nor Merlin are fully human. Arthur has dragon blood flowing in his body, and Merlin is the descendant of nightmares.

"No matter what you do in Wharton, stay vigilant.

"Except for the returning knights who are full of anger, and Merlin, you have to be careful, no one knows what he wants to do.

"But I can tell you that before she met King Arthur and decided to assist her, Merlin's reputation was not as good as it is now. Vortigern once invited Merlin to his palace, and in your father's opinion, Merlin is suitable.

Ally, you know this better than I do, he never tried to negotiate with King Arthur, because he would not do anything meaningless.
