582. decision

Gawain closed his eyes and asked:

"What happened to you?"

Lei glanced in the direction of the bedroom. Gawain's wife Regrel drove the children into the room, while she hid in their room.

Although the lady avoided the conversation on the surface, she left a gap at the door as if to tell people outside.

Lei remembers Gawain and her story.

There are many versions of the story of the two people, but some of them remain unchanged. All versions tell the story of a handsome knight and an ugly lady monster.

The story begins when King Arthur encounters a serious problem and they know an ugly witch can help them.

So Gawain and King Arthur found her, and she agreed, as long as King Arthur met her conditions.

Let Gawain marry her.

King Arthur refused, but Gawain agreed, so the contract was finally reached, and the two prepared to hold a wedding after King Arthur solved the problem.

Although Gawain only invited Arthur, all the knights of the Round Table eventually arrived, and although they tried hard to hide it, their expressions still showed fear and resistance.

Ugliness is a completely restrained statement. The truly appropriate description is: "She is like a huge long-haired beast. Even the most heroic knight will retreat when he sees her ferocious face."

Gawain is the only knight who looks normal.

Even though everyone was feeling sorry for him and angry, he himself acted very calmly, as if the monster was not his wife.

It wasn't until the wedding was over and the two were alone that Regrel revealed the truth to Gawain:

She was once a beautiful woman, but she was cursed by a vicious curse and could only remain human half of the time every day.

Sure enough, as the sun and moon alternated, she instantly changed from a terrifying monster to a beautiful and charming woman.

After she turned into a human, she asked Gawain:

"Now you have to make a decision, are you going to let me see people during the day and turn into a hideous and terrifying monster at night, or are you going to be alone with me at night and make me look ugly during the day."

Gawain's answer surprised the woman:

"Which side do you want to choose?"

His words lifted the curse.

And the beautiful exotic princess Regrel really fell in love with Gawain because of this. Judging from the current appearance of the two of them, they should have lived happily ever after until now.

Gawain noticed Lei's eyes:

"She's a little shy."

Lei said:

"I remembered your stories."

Gawain was a little surprised, and then smiled:

"What are you talking about? In fact, the stories circulated are far from the truth, such as the part about the curse."

Lei cast a curious look.

Gawain looked towards the bedroom door:

"There is no curse at all, but the monster does exist. At least in the eyes of other people, it is a monster. It's just that I saw other things exist."

He looked away:

"Let's continue to focus on this matter. I just want to tell you that I love my wife and children, although I am very angry about the ending of Bedivere and even instinctively want to find the murderer.

"But I have a family of my own, so you may not be able to hear the answer you want from me."

Lei shook her head:

"This is what Bedivere asked me to tell you. I didn't come here to make any demands. I will leave after you fully understand what happened."

Gawain wondered:

"Where to go?"

Lei looked out the window:

"Wharton, I have to go there first. If what he said is right, someone will soon use this incident to cause a disaster..."

Gawain raised his hand to interrupt her:

"Why? I mean, why do you want to go? You just said that you are just an ordinary person, right?"

Lei thought for a moment:

"Honestly, I don't think I can give you a satisfactory answer, or a very convincing answer. I understand your questions.

"Yes, even if I inherited his power, there is no need to stop anything in my capacity. This is not my responsibility. I can only tell Lord Gawain:

"I wanna go."

Gawain was silent for a moment:

"Have you seen the murderer?"

Lei recalled:

"All I remember is the red knight."

Gawain asked:

"Did he say something? Bedivere."

Lei replied:

"We were pressed for time and he didn't have time to say anything."

The fact is that when the real Bedivere sent Lei away, he was not sure of his own dying fate, but he was somewhat aware of the danger. Otherwise, there was no need for him to send the girl away.

The woman opened the door.

Regrel walked out of the bedroom, dragging her reserved steps, and came behind Gawain.

"If you want, just go and have a look. I can take good care of the children. I can take them there to hide for a while. After all, they have to adapt sooner or later."

Gawain looked at his wife:

"No, when we move, I always have a vague feeling that something is wrong. Their target is probably not just Bedivere.
