458. Struggle

Al Gore is dead.

Witnessing this scene made Nelly feel amazing.

She didn't feel much sadness, she didn't know this man, but a plain and real sadness spread in her heart.

Not to the point of crying, but there was a feeling of discomfort that couldn't be shaken out of my chest.

Nelly looked at the body and asked:

"He just said you guys."

Veronica said:

"The dying person can see me now."

Nellie turned to Veronica.

The figure of the woman in black is swaying in the air. If you look closely, you can still see the trees behind her.

Veronica said:

"He said the murderer was a white dragon."

Nelly said:

"We cannot rule out the possibility that it is Enid. If she had contracted the symptoms, it could have further caused her to lose control."

Veronica said:

"If it were really her, would you kill her?"

Nelly was silent for a moment, then turned to look at the half of the body again:

"I'll look into her eyes and make up my mind."

Veronica asked:

"What if she can still be saved?"

Nelly said:

"There is a high probability that I will die, but I will try my best to stop her."

Veronica nodded:

"I didn't see any monsters nearby. There are still some wandering souls over there. Based on the time of their death, their thoughts before death, and the surrounding situation, there is a high probability that Bailong is no longer here."

Nelly nodded and said:

"We need to warn the people in Wharton, especially Captain George. Hevin told me that he is a trustworthy person, but I heard that he is not in Wharton now.

"And if we meet the normal Enid, we must not irritate her, otherwise..."

Veronica said:

"I'll pay attention."

Veronica said:

"It's almost time, so I'll go back first. If the soul and body are separated for too long, the crack will become unstable."

And right now in downtown Wharton.

The girl, already regarded as an evil spirit by the two men, was wandering aimlessly on the street.

To be honest, she has nowhere to go.

Even if I have irritable emotions in my heart, I don’t know who to vent to.

Vortigern reminded:

"Aren't there a lot of people on the street?"

Enid said:

"I just want to finish what I have to do before I die, instead of turning into an evil monster with unforgivable sins."

Vortigern laughed and said:

"There are no things that should be done from a moral point of view, there are only very bad things and not so bad things.

"But even if something is not that bad, it is still not good. You are really a hypocritical guy. You hurt others just to satisfy yourself, but you still give yourself the so-called justice, revenge and other names.

"But you actually know deep down in your heart that your evil deeds have nothing to do with right or wrong, and you don't want to take revenge on anyone. After all, who really harmed you?

"Mother? George? The person behind the scenes? Even Hevin?

“Some people have done good things, more people have done bad things, and all their influences on you have combined to create you who is now full of anger and resentment.

"Right or wrong, good and evil are really not as important as you think. What does morality mean? You are also a person who has read books. Do things that most people agree with apply to you?

"It's better to cross the line that is already clearly visible. You want to vent violence on others, and it may not really matter whether this person hurts you or not.

"Since you don't hate those people, why don't you choose the way to make yourself happiest."

Enid replied:

"Maybe because I'm not a monster yet."

Vortigern said:

"Monster, do you really think so? You call all individuals who do not abide by the rules established by human experience monsters?

"I think aliens are more suitable for this group than monsters. People who choose to step out of the general framework are indeed scary.

"Because they can't understand your actions, just like good people can't understand why a murderer commits so many crimes, but just like mortals can't understand why heroes can accomplish great things.

"Be your own hero, not theirs, Enid. You don't need to care what they think. Just let yourself be happy. If you want to vent, go ahead.

"Let Wharton burn."

Enid looked at Vortigern in confusion:

"Don't you want my body? Will me doing this help you achieve your goals?"

Vortigern smiled and said:

"I am a liar, but you need to identify for yourself whether what I said is a lie. In short, I lied, and you also listened to my truth and lies.

"But you are the one who makes the final decision. You will continue to sink and spend the rest of your life in confusion until you are eaten by me, or you break free from the shackles and become an alien in the eyes of mortals.

"You have to be a mediocre person all your life, but you can still be a hero for a moment, even if this "hero" is incomprehensible to the world."

Enid was silent, and the former knight just looked at the false and humble king he imagined.
