231. Fighting for Survival and Greed(1/2)

Latona completely memorized the contents of the document in her mind.

She is holding a small badge in her left hand. By tapping it in different ways, she can convey different messages to others.

She had just knocked a few times, conveying the message to Hevin that Garrett was not here.

Now you just need to leave here and tell Hewen what you have written down.

Latona walked to the door and reached out to hold the door handle.

She didn't turn around.

It's too quiet.

Latona looked at the door panel and saw that it was not made of standard soundproof material.

She closed her eyes and listened for a few seconds.

Breathing, heartbeat.

Only there was no sound of footsteps.

She let go of the doorknob.

Latona slowly backed away to the pink children's desk.

Two quick taps in a row means you are in danger.

But she didn't want to let Hevin come down, because now she was not sure whether he could get out unscathed after coming down, and this might also alarm Garrett.

No matter what happens, I will not be in danger for a short time.

She also needs Hewen to cure her daughter.

There is another way to tap.

Latona took out all the documents and placed them on the ground, then took out a pen from her pocket and wrote a few words.

Finally she pressed the badge on top of the document.

She quickly tapped eight times in three different places, and in an instant the files disappeared silently.

Along with the badge.

She combed her hair with her hands and walked to the door again.

Turn the handle.

Several men in riot gear rushed in from both sides of the door, grabbed her hands and twisted them behind her, then pushed her to the ground.

"What are you doing!" Latona shouted angrily.

Security Minister Sexton said expressionlessly:

"Under normal circumstances, nothing would make Latona give up the time she spends with her daughter."

Latona shouted:

"I have something urgent to report to the director."

Sexton sniffed:

"What's the matter? I don't think you're very anxious. No, I should say you're very nervous. You can't hide it from me. That's what they paid me to do, to find all possible unstable factors.

"

Latona was silent for a moment.

She is brewing emotions.

"Because I don't know if I should do this."

Sexton just looked at her.

Latona lay on the ground and said:

"I found information about Lilith, Experimental Subject No. 8."

Sexton asked:

"You don't know what you should do?"

Latona lowered her eyes, showing just the right amount of struggle:

"She is just a child. You also know what Garrett did. You know how inhumane it is. I can't decide whether to give this news to him, but if I want to tell him, I must not wait, otherwise he will

Kill me, if you don't let me tell him the news, Garrett will kill both of us."

Sexton asked:

"what news."

Latona told the answer Hevin told her:

"Forth City, there are traces of Lilith's life there."

Sexton said:

"You shouldn't hesitate. You know that the Forerunner Institute should not be bound by ordinary moral concepts, and you should not consider whether to report this matter.

"No. 8 is the property of the Institute."

Latona's voice was cold:

"That's a human being, and I'm a human being too."

Sexton was undeterred:

"Beyond humanity and breaking the boundaries of humanity. This is our accusation. You are the head of the research department. If everything is true, there will probably be no problem."

He used the word estimate because the person who made the decision was a madman.

"Ms. Latona, now we need to aggrieve you. You must stay in the cell until the results of the investigation come out. Now, send Ms. Latona to the cell. Be careful not to hurt her."

The security personnel pulled Latona up from the ground and escorted her away.

Sexton watched her leaving back.

He didn't completely believe Latona's words. Sexton could smell the unusual question, and Latona at this moment was very unusual.

Allen City Library.

"What books did Miss Lei borrow?"

A green light flashed in the eyes of the skull on Skyde's chest.

"'Monster Prototype', 'Ancient Truth', and 'Seven Days', these are the three books that have not been returned yet. Two of them are books by an author named Hevind Lenger." The administrator said.

"When was the last time she came to the library."

"It's been three days," the administrator replied obediently.

Skye nodded slightly.

Out of some strange feeling, he did not leave directly, but started wandering around the library.

The next step was to take out Lei's heart and Iona's brain.

In order to keep the ingredients fresh, it is best to get two people together to start cooking, take them out and store them immediately, and then give them to the stickman to cook.

What about order selection?

Should we deal with Kelly and Hola first, or the two of them first?

That's right, he doesn't intend to just complete one additional request. The stickman has no restrictions anyway, so he will hand over Hal and the two girls to the stickman.

Anyway, the extra wish should be able to block Hevendrenger's pursuit. By then, he won't be able to find the real murderer. In the face of the stickman's power that surpasses the gods, a weak demigod is nothing.

Skyde suddenly looked at a bookshelf, and there was a book that was different from the other books.

It's attracting me, wanting me to look at it.

Skyd shook his head, now is not the time to read.

He took a step towards the bookshelf.

Skyde's eyes widened in horror, he couldn't control his body.

It's not that the book is attractive at all, but that the book has stretched out its huge claws, grabbing him and dragging him in the direction of the book.

Skyeed could not restrain himself from moving forward. Even though he had uttered the blasphemous taboo incantation, he was still driven to move by an indescribable powerful force.

He walked to the bookshelf.

His hands spontaneously reached for that special book.

"Destiny" - Hewendelenge.

He opened the book.

There are several pieces of paper mixed in it.

The top ones looked like some strange ritual, but he couldn't understand its purpose.

But there is also a passage added later on these pieces of paper.
