8. knock, knock

The banquet is about to begin.

Hala finally chose a white women's dress from among the dozen clothes she bought from Hevin.

Coupled with the short hair dyed black, the girl who originally looked adorable became a little more handsome, enough to make the sixteen or seventeen-year-old girls in the town scream in surprise.

"Haven, what if we meet a bad guy?"

"As long as you stay with me, I will take care of everything, and even if they walk by you, they probably won't recognize you."

Hewen touched a few metal balls in his arms and said in an extremely confident tone:

"Don't worry, I'm here."

Ha La responded without confidence:

"Uh-huh."

It didn't take the two of them much time to arrive at the door of Jimmy's house, and just as Hevin said, no weirdo in black appeared and took Halla away.

Boom, boom.

Rebecca opened the door with a glowing face. Jimmy's mother is already thirty-eight years old this year, but her skin is better than that of many young women in their twenties. She can't even see the crow's feet.

The blond beauty looked at Hewen and Ha La, smiled and said:

"This little princess is Miss Hola, right?"

Ha La raised her nose and emphasized:

"Yes, I am Hewen's niece, are you Sister Nelly?"

Rebecca covered her mouth with her hands, chuckled and said:

"Little Holly is really good at talking. I'm Nelly's mother, Rebecca."

Ha La opened her eyes wide with a look of disbelief.

Rebecca giggled and invited the two of them:

"What are you still doing here? Come in quickly, Ogden! Prepare things quickly."

The two of them were seated quickly.

Jimmy looked very excited about Hevin's arrival. In addition, he also had a sense of relief on his face, just like a battle-hardened soldier who finally returned to his hometown and could finally relax his tense nerves for a moment.

Although Nelly looked impatient, she surprisingly didn't say anything strange. Hewen guessed that her parents had specifically asked her to do so.

In fact, the problem between Nelly and him is very simple. When he was a child, he told Nelly some things he had seen in the past, but when Nelly told others about these things, she was severely laughed at by peers of other ages.

Feeling deceived, Nelly rushed to Hevin's home with tears in her eyes. However, she saw Hevin absorbing the bone meal of the original giant beast to replenish his vitality. She regarded him as a drug addict with a bad personality who likes to deceive children, and left angrily.

Already.

Although it was just a small thing, this invisible rift slowly expanded over the next ten years, and also caused the relationship between the two of them to continue to deteriorate. As for the fact that others thought Nelly was interested in them, that was just a person.

Just a wonderful misunderstanding.

"This is little Hela, you look so beautiful." Nelly deliberately did not look at Hewen, but struck up a conversation with the little girl next to her, "Would you like to come to your sister's room to play? We still have

A little girl time.”

Ha La nodded expressionlessly:

"Um."

Rebecca looked at Ha La, a little strange, how this girl's attitude towards Nelly was completely different from her attitude towards her, but after thinking about it, she just felt that Nelly was not very popular with children.

Although Ha La's attitude was cold, Nelly showed no displeasure and pulled her into her room more enthusiastically.

Jimmy on the side also took the opportunity to come to Hewen and whispered:

"These days I have been feeling the sight of that monster, as if he never left here at all, and..."

Jimmy hesitated for a few seconds and lowered his voice again:

"My father, Ogden, has been a little strange during this time. I have confirmed again and again that he remembers things that only he and I know. His habits and subconscious actions have not changed. He is who he is, but he is very different from usual.

I doubt that monster did something bad to him.

"Maybe he hid the monster."

Hewen nodded slightly:

"I see."

Not long after, Nelly pulled Ha La out again, with a satisfied look on her face. It seemed that the two of them were getting along very well.

Hala once again sat next to Hevin, while Nelly sat in a position on the right opposite to Hevin, just enough to miss him.

Ogden came out of the kitchen and poured a glass of red wine for Hevin, his wife and daughter, while Jimmy and Holla had fresh and sweet orange juice in front of them.

Ha La whispered in Hewen's ear:

"Sister Nelly is a bad person."

Hewen asked with a smile:

"Why?"

Ha La's tone was a little angry:

"She lied to me and said you were a bad person."

"Haha, she's not a bad person, she's just a stupid person."

"Oh~" Ha La opened her eyes wide, as if she had learned a new kind of knowledge, and then looked at Nelly with sympathetic eyes.

After everyone was seated, Ogden stood up first and raised his glass.

"Today, we are here to celebrate together. My daughter Nelly has been admitted to Wharton Polytechnic University. She will soon leave home and go to Wharton, the capital, where she will start a new and full life for the next four years."

The old man looked at the daughter he had raised single-handedly and was about to leave home, and shouted with red eyes:

"Cheers! To Nelly."

"Cheers!" "Cheers!" "Cheers!" "Cheers!" "Cheers!"

The other five people responded in succession.

Ogden quickly adjusted his emotions. No one except Hevin noticed what was strange about him just now. The father continued:

"Everyone can start eating, but before that, there is one more thing to discuss."

Ogden looked at Hevin and said straight to the point:

"Do you love my daughter?"

"Dad!" Nelly shouted with a blushing face, "My relationship with him is not at all what you think."

That being said, Nelly couldn't help but raise an idea, that is, how would Hevin respond?

The girl's eyes were staring straight at the air ten centimeters away from Hewen's face, her face was red and she said nothing.

"Hevin, what is love?" Ha La asked without looking at the atmosphere at all.

Hewen chuckled:

"You will know when you grow up."

The hunter looked at Nelly and her father seriously again:

"I can assure you that, as Nelly said, this is a wonderful misunderstanding. In my opinion, Nelly is just a little rebellious girl. Maybe she doesn't realize it herself, but she should see me as

I have become a very important elder, which is why she had such big opinions on me when she was in adolescence."

Nelly breathed a sigh of relief, and then whispered:

"Anyway, after I go to Wharton, I won't see you again."

Rebecca frowned. Originally, she was not very supportive of Nellie's relationship with Hevin, who was much older than her, but after meeting her today, she had to admit that this young man did have a unique charm.

And Hara is so cute.

"I have told you so many times that we are not in that kind of relationship, Dad, please stop talking, okay?" Nelly felt an inexplicable anger in her heart and softly accused her father.

"Okay, but maybe I can go back with you tonight and we can talk about this topic again." Ogden suggested as if he hadn't given up yet.

Boom! Boom!

Two heavy and urgent knocks were heard.

Rebecca looked at her husband:

"Did you invite anyone else?"

Ogden said solemnly:
Chapter completed!
