Talk about science

Anyone who has read my first book knows that "Traveling through 1630: The Rise of South America" has a large amount of scientific and technological development, with 500 people wearing it, fully imparting knowledge, and establishing a system that stimulates industrial development by scientific research, trade, profit, and feeds back.

The second book, "Fusheng in the Late Tang Dynasty", was too early and was worn by a single person, and had little knowledge, so I started from the most basic one.

At that time, wars and chaos in the north were frequent and sparsely populated areas were carried out to carry out agriculture and animal husbandry, and three crops were rotated, that is, they did not pursue a mu yield, but pursued a single-person yield.

Crop rotation to avoid pests and diseases can make the fields rich, which is very suitable for people and lots of land.

In addition, some wine residues have also been involved in milking, as well as various breeding in agriculture, which are basically in the scope of the agricultural revolution.

The agricultural revolution first, then the commercial revolution, and finally the industrial revolution was born.

Agriculture cannot rise, social wealth has not increased, it cannot feed a large number of full-time population, and it cannot produce consumer groups. Business is just like a half-dead person, and it is more prosperous in several big cities, and other places are stagnant, and the overall consumption potential is limited.

Without a consumer market, the industrial production system cannot be established, and technological progress cannot be discussed, and it will be very slow.

Just like the textile industry in Jiangnan in the Ming Dynasty, it has reached its peak, and there is no other consumer market. Because of the war in the late Ming Dynasty, the market still shrank a lot, and investing in industry is not profitable, or even losses. It is better to buy land and invest in agriculture, or simply hold your money and wait and see (silver winter melon).

It can be said that if overseas markets could not be opened at that time, the Chinese industrial revolution might have been dead.

In fact, it has not been opened up much, and it only has a certain scale of trade with the surrounding areas. I read the "English East India Company Yearbook"

As for the trade of the Dutch East India Company, there were found volumes, but not many, and it was intermittent.

So what was the Wei and Jin Dynasties in which this book "" was located?

The productivity was lower, and the agricultural output was higher than that in the pre-Qin period and the Han Dynasty, but it was close to the Sui and Tang Dynasties.

In fact, agriculture has basically come to an end in the Tang Dynasty.

The northern income was high and low, and on average, one hu of a mu (108.32 kilograms of millet) was the same. This data was the same during the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty. Later, the Ming and Qing Dynasties did not change much, and it was basically over.

In such a situation, how to develop industry? In fact, it is almost impossible.

There is only one way to make a move, that is, to artificially create a part of the consumer group, such as the government soldiers, officials, chiefs, and gentry. The number may be between hundreds of thousands and one million, so we can only focus on this market.

The small market size can lead to the development of industry and commerce? It is hard to say, or to what extent do you want to see development?

Some people may say that England had a population of only 4-5 million in the 17th century. How big is the consumer market?

This is a good question. But the market in England is not only domestic, but also Spain and the vast colonies of Spain, with at least 1,500

The German region has a population of more than 10 million, Italy, France has a population of 20 million, Nordic Europe and others. They even want the very low-purity sand gold in the hands of African chiefs, and they cheated them, and they do everything they can to open up the market.

Of course they also have competitors, mainly France and Germany (the United Provinces have gradually deindustrialized).

But they have a BUFF.

Industrial capitalists sell goods and make money from consumers. Consumers have no money to spend. What should we do at this time?

Don’t worry, Spain’s import of currency is equivalent to printing money now, and part of it flows into the hands of ordinary people. The entire society is inflated and the production and consumption system is operating again.

In this process, productivity has developed and various technologies have emerged one after another.

This is the right way to develop science and technology.

So what should I do if I didn’t have this condition during the Wei Pu period of this book?

Maybe forget it, stop doing it.

But Shao Zhe came here once and had this condition again. He gave it a try. Even if he didn't succeed, it didn't matter.

His method is actually very simple. It depends on the interests and hobbies of educated gentry, and there will not be too many people in this group;

2. To induce it with benefits, that is, to analyze the current social situation at that time, to see which industry has the most gentry and is most popular. There is no suspense, that is, the "alchemy industry", which attracts some people to join it through the pursuit of immortality and possible wealth of the natives;

3. The workshop produces products, then sells them, and then feeds back to technology. This is the "right way" I mentioned before, but it should not be easy here;

4. I fool some people into studying "Tao", looking for "Tao", and starting research on their own development;

5. There may be other means, but not the main ones.

The effects of the five methods are suspicious, but it is possible to attract one.

In order not to waste the energy and financial resources of such a small amount of scientific researchers, we must hand them over to their scientific methodology.

First of all, the "seeking truth from facts" mentioned before when changing the era

For example, there was a chapter that talked about Shao Zhe talking about microorganisms, but no one believed it because you couldn't confirm it.

Questioning, empirical spirit needs to be cultivated, and no one can say anything else.

Shao Zhe himself doesn't know much, he only has conceptuality.

For example, I forgot the quadratic equations of the univariate and wrote the sine, and the cosine was not over halfway. I only remember that the law of buoyancy seems to be related to density, and I don’t know anything else.

Newton's three laws, remember that the action of one force is mutual, and the others are forgotten.

It cannot be said that cannot be confirmed, at least it cannot be said publicly. It can only be called on others in private to create an interesting story collection with no origin.

Tell me some basic principles, and I cannot sign the name of Shao Zhe.

Furthermore, if it was during the Ming Dynasty, Shao Zhe would choose to tell the knowledge he knew as much as possible. Even if one in the east or the other in the west, it would not be a system, and there might be some errors; there would be no need for the general dynasty at this time.

This is what I have always thought.

If it is a first-mover country, there is no need to worry. Establishing a system that can produce fruits is more important than directly obtaining fruits, because a small part of the knowledge mastered by a time traveler, he does not understand, forgets or remembers more mistakes. This requires the system to evolve:

If it is a latecomer country and there is imminent pressure, then use it first. It is important to save your life first. Let’s talk about the side effects later.

Secondly, there must be scientific research methods.

For example, quantitative and logical thinking.

The logical thinking in this era can only be trained by mathematics, and it is precisely because the natives learned a lot of arithmetic and had certain thinking ability, because they might have to work hard to calculate various things.

The previous chapter mentioned quantification, which is the way toward science, or technology, not science.

What is the temperature in the furnace during alchemy? Can you have a thermometer?

The thermometers at the beginning of human beings were very simple and had a huge error. They could only be measured simply, but everything developed step by step from these simple things.

Define zero degrees and 100 degrees, and then after the furnace heats up, the gas will change and the water column will move. Then you define the scale yourself and record it.

In fact, this is how the thermometer was originally made. The error is very large and simple, but these things should not be underestimated.

Small objects such as barometers and thermometers are all very important tools for scientific research.

Without tools, how to conduct quantitative research? It is difficult to summarize systematic theories without quantitative research.

Apart from scholars, can ordinary people participate in scientific research? It is extremely difficult.

Perhaps some people noticed that Shao Zhe was trying to find a doctorate in the classics and a doctorate in mathematics in counties, which is to run education.

But it is actually very difficult to understand and requires extremely long accumulation. The classics may be better, but it is really difficult to calculate. Not many people learn this, and they may not be willing to teach, and they lack teaching.

Actually, I’m very surprised why some people thought it was very simple to run education in ancient times?

Finally, let’s talk about the issue of social atmosphere. Why did Wei Pu abandon Confucianism in the Eastern Han Dynasty? It’s very simple. Confucian scholars in the Eastern Han Dynasty collapsed.

When Confucianism in the Eastern Han Dynasty developed to the end, it tended to be theological, extremely rigid, and was even associated with astrology and latitude. In addition to political and social factors, cultural people collectively turned to the metaphysics derived from the works of Laozi and Zhuangzi.

Metaphysics was popular for hundreds of years and has always been the mainstream idea of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. Whether it is the Southern Dynasties that talk more about mystery or the slightly smaller Northern Dynasties, metaphysics is the mainstream. The only difference is the proportion of Confucianism. The Northern Dynasties Confucianism is slightly more prosperous than that of the Southern Dynasties, but that's it.

In the middle of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism became popular, and Buddhist temples were everywhere in the north and south. The Southern Dynasties worshiped more Buddhas and fewer in the Northern Dynasties.

The combination of metaphysics and Buddhism will influence it for a long time.

But it should be noted that Confucianism has never died during this process, and Confucian classics are still read by people, and even those who talk about the mythology of Taoism themselves have read Confucian classics.

In the middle and late Tang Dynasty, due to the separatist rule of the vassal states and social unrest, Confucianism began to bottom out and rebound, marking the Han Yu ancient literature movement. Han Yu regretted that society did not value Confucianism and was determined to revive Confucianism.

This time, after Confucianism emerged, it never declined again. It was unshakable from the Southern Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Many people always like to take several measures from the perspective of the central government: administrative orders to run education, administrative orders to run industry, administrative orders to study science, and administrative orders to establish reward and punishment systems.

IMHO, it will be impossible at this point, because this system is difficult to operate, and it is likely to be a big loss in the end, and it is a real loss of people.

In fact, these measures are all the content of my book, but that would be 500 time travelers, complete knowledge, and earn a lot of silver through overseas trade, forming a healthy operation.

But this will be really difficult. Some people underestimate the huge driving force of business on improving social productivity.

I wrote some casually, and I have a monthly vote at the end of the month, thank you.
Chapter completed!
