Chapter 108: Retreat to the fortified city

According to the news previously reported by the Wei army's frontline scouts, the 150,000-strong army was divided into three armies: northern, southern and central armies by the Qin army's general Zhang Yu.

The first northern route army, led by the deputy general Shu Changguo, had 60,000 soldiers and was responsible for the strategy of attacking the northern cities of Hexi.

The second southern army was commanded by deputy general Ying Qian, with about 40,000 soldiers. The goal of this army was several cities in the southern part of Hexi.

The remaining 50,000 soldiers of the third central army, led by the general Zhang Yu, attacked the land occupied by Wei in the central part of Hexi.

As the war situation continued to develop, under the order of Long Jia, the commander-in-chief of the Wei State's Hexi Army, to retreat on his own initiative, the advancement of the three Qin armies was smooth sailing.

After crossing the Luoshui River to the east, Qin's northern army of 60,000 men, led by the deputy general Shu Changguo, had already captured Duping City in the west of Hexi.

Next, they will most likely continue to march eastward to seize Wei's fortress in Hexi, Shaoliang.

Under the command of deputy general Ying Qian, the southern army marched south from Chongquan and captured several cities including Zheng and Wucheng in a short period of time.

It is believed that this army will soon turn back to the north, cross the Wei River again, and approach Luoyin City located on the south bank of the Luoshui River.

Marching eastward from Chongquan City, the Qin army's chief general Zhang Yu led his middle army and also successfully captured Yuanli City.

After this, Zhang Yu most likely led a large army to surround Heyang City in order to cut off the connection between the two fortresses of Shaoliang and Linjin.

A moment later, when the commander-in-chief Long Jia finished speaking, the entire main hall fell into a depressing atmosphere.

Combined with the map hanging in front of them, they reviewed the movements of the Qin army in the past few days in their minds, and the faces of every Wei army general showed full of solemnity.

The oppressive atmosphere around them lasted for a long time, and just when everyone was almost out of breath, a Wei army general walked out from the crowd.

After a military salute, he was heard to say loudly to the crowd: "General, the Qin army is preparing to include all of our lands west of Hexi in one battle this time."

Hearing the comments of this Wei general, the other generals around him nodded their heads and showed a bit of agreement on their faces.

An army of 150,000 troops came in three groups, ready to swallow up the land west of Hexi in one fell swoop.

Qin’s appetite is not small!

However, the Qin army is approaching with great force, which does not mean that the generals of the Hexi Army present will be timid.

The support of these Wei generals comes from behind them. Wei is the most powerful country in the world today. Even if it is as powerful as Qi, Chu still has to give up three points.

"I'm just afraid that Qin Jun doesn't have such good teeth."

Another Wei army general stood up, with a solemn expression on his face, and bowed solemnly to the commander in front of him, Long Jia.

"General, I am willing to lead an elite force to defeat the Qin army."

The words of this Wei general who asked for battle seemed to ignite the fighting spirit that had been accumulated in the hearts of the other generals in the main hall for many days.

The next moment, excitement appeared on their faces, and one after another they stood up and challenged the general Long Jia in front to fight.

"General, the last general is calling for battle."

"General, the last general is calling for battle."

"General, the last general is calling for battle."

However, as the commander-in-chief, Long Jia did not seem to be infected by the exciting atmosphere around him. His eyes were as calm as an ancient well, always moving on the map in front of him.

Noticing Long Jia's current state, all the sounds immediately disappeared, and all the Wei army generals stood silently and stared straight ahead.

Along with the rivers and cities, Long Jia came into view, and the context of the entire Hexi battlefield gradually became clear in his mind.

After an unknown amount of time, when Long Jia slowly turned around and looked to the rear, these Wei generals invariably straightened themselves up.

"Where is the leader of the scout camp?"

"The end will be here."

Almost at the moment Long Jia finished speaking, a Wei army general came directly in front of him from the ranks.

A solemn look appeared in Long Jia's eyes, and he said in a deep voice: "Pass this general's order and continue to send out elite scouts to investigate the Qin army's every move. If there is any abnormality, report back at any time."

"Here."

After receiving the order from Long Jia, the leader of the Wei army's scout camp bowed without any hesitation and left the main hall.

After issuing the first order, Long Jia continued to shout orders to the Wei generals in front of him: "By this general's order, the soldiers from Luoyin, Heyang and other cities quickly retreated to Linjin. Fanpang, Jigu,

The soldiers from other places will go to Shaoliang immediately."

After Long Jia issued this order, several more figures stood out from the crowd and bowed forward without any hesitation.

"The general will obey the order."

Following the issuance of Long Jia's order, several more cities were directly abandoned, leaving only the two fortresses of Linjin and Shaoliang in the west of Hexi.

However, this also means that the Wei State's Hexi Army has firmly gathered its originally scattered 50,000-strong army into the two fortresses in the north and south.

It is conceivable that a bloody battle between Qin and Wei will begin in Shaoliang and under Linjin City.

Hexi, Yuanli.

"Report..."

"General, General Ying Qian on the southern front has sent a battle report."

Accompanied by a loud report, a Qin Army messenger quickly rushed into the tent where the Qin Army's chief general Zhang Xi was.

Hearing this voice ringing in his ears, Zhang Yu placed the battle report in his hand on top of the cases in front of him, and took the battle report from the southern front army from the hand of the messenger.

After a few breaths, Zhang Yu gently put down the southern front battle report in his hand, picked up the northern front battle report again, and started reading again.

Just as the seal characters on it entered Zhang Yu's eyes one after another, a bit of solemnity appeared between his brows.

As the commander-in-chief of the Qin Army, the reason why Zhang Xiu looked solemn at this moment was not because the offensive of the two armies encountered any difficulties. On the contrary, the progress of the two armies could be said to be going smoothly.

It's just that the instinct of a general made Zhang Yu feel a little wary. If the battle progressed too smoothly, it might not be a good thing for the Qin army.

As soon as he thought of this, a cold light suddenly flashed in Zhang Yu's eyes, and a majestic voice came out from the big tent.

"Someone is coming!"

Upon hearing the call from the general, the Qin army guards who were on duty outside the tent immediately stepped into the tent and came to Zhang Yu.

"Meet the General."

Looking at the personal guards appearing in front of him, he heard Zhang Yu say in a deep voice: "Have the leader of the scout camp come to see me immediately."

"Here."
