Chapter 39 Dragon Witch (1)(2/2)

"I said, this is my daughter." Mr. Jacques shook his head and said: "As you requested, I brought my daughter. Whether you admit it or not is up to you."

“It should be almost time.” Baron York suddenly said at this time.

“What time?” Mr. Jacques asked calmly.

Baron York smiled and said: "The cavalry I sent out should be catching up with the carriage in about time... I am talking about the carriage that left the back door of your house not long ago."

Mr. Jacques breathed out slowly.

Baron York shook his head and stood up, "Don't you think that I will do nothing... Mayor Charles is a very honest person, even if you have someone in your family, he will tell you with enthusiasm.

I dare not say whether the person who fell to the ground is Madame Isabelle, but this person, I am afraid, cannot be the real Mademoiselle Jeanne."

Mr. Jacques said: "In this case, our family will say goodbye. It seems there is nothing to talk about."

"Don't worry." Baron York waved his hand and said: "Didn't Mr. Jacques say that you want to go with me to [Chinon]? Where are you going? After the carriage comes back, we can set off...

In fact, I really don’t want to stay in this place any longer, there isn’t even a dancing girl here, it’s a miserable place.”

A company of six cavalrymen pushed the door open and entered... They stood guard in front of the door.

Mr. Jacques breathed out slowly again, and he said quietly: "Actually, as you promised me, just take us back to [Chinon] and everything will be fine... Baron York, you

Being wise may not necessarily bring you good luck."

Baron York smiled indifferently, thinking it was the weak roar of a loser.

He waved his hand and ordered the cavalry who entered the door: "Keep a close eye on Mr. Jacques and his [family], and set off immediately after the people in the carriage chase them back!"

With that said, Baron York lazily sat back on the sofa, raised his wine glass, and shook it gently.

He looked at Mr. Jacques in front of him interestingly. He was a mysterious man. His life experience was a mystery and he was versatile. He once fascinated countless noble ladies in [Chinon]. He even took away the princesses of the royal family and eloped.

for nearly twenty years.

Even after twenty years, this man still looks quite elegant and charming.

This man has a pair of deep blue eyes like the sea... He is indeed very charming, Baron York thought subconsciously.

He stared at Mr. Jacques's dark blue eyes, and subconsciously seemed to see the real sea... He seemed to be trapped in a whirlpool, and gradually lost his voice.

Suddenly, Baron York saw a pair of scarlet eyes in this huge whirlpool... The sapphire eyes seemed to have turned into blood-stained diamonds at this moment.

Baron York only felt a suffocating feeling, making it difficult to breathe. He even felt as if his heart was being held...

A scream suddenly broke the tranquility of the night in Donremi Village.

Baron York's spirit suddenly struggled out of the whirlpool. He broke into a cold sweat unknowingly and subconsciously asked: "What happened?"

"I don't know, the sound seems to be coming from outside..." A cavalryman in the room said quickly at this time: "I'll go outside to see what happened."

With that said, the cavalry pushed open the door and walked out. Baron York frowned. He looked at Mr. Jacques again, only to find that Mr. Jacques had an expression on his face and even closed his eyes slowly.

…Is it because of the influence of alcohol?

Baron York subconsciously put down the wine glass in his hand.

Time passed little by little, and there was still no movement from Mr. Jacques... Baron York was about to speak, but the cavalry who went to inquire hurriedly knocked into the door, looking panicked.

“Sir, sir, you’d better come out and take a look!” The cavalryman said in horror: “Something strange has happened!”

"What's the matter?" Baron York stood up impatiently.
