Chapter 6 Shinto Stone Gate
Niu Kelian's eyes were clear, and we could not see any hypocrisy in it.
Chunting looked at him for a long time before he withdrew his sharp gaze like a knife and walked aside without saying a word.
Seeing this, I had to come out to ease the awkward atmosphere and said apologetically at Niu Kelian.
"Brother Niu, don't blame him, he has no malice, but this fact is of great importance, and there is a group of enemies hidden in the dark behind us, so we have to be more careful."
Niu Kelian smiled freely and seemed to have no concerns.
"The leader is serious. How could Ke Lian keep such a small matter in his heart? It's just that he can't afford to call the leader like this. If the leader doesn't mind, just call me Ke Lian."
"Then that's it, don't call me the leader. It sounds weird and I'm not adapting at all."
Unexpectedly, Niu Kelian shook his head, and the tone of his mouth made me extremely familiar.
"The leader, the courtesy cannot be abolished!"
I looked at Yihe with anger. He heard what Niu Kelian said was laughing secretly. I walked over and pulled him to Niu Kelian and said helplessly.
"This chess is like you. She was the leader who shut up before. You were not taught by a master, right?"
The two looked at each other and smiled, and there was a hint of mutual appreciation.
I had no time to think about how these two people thought. I looked at Niu Kelian and asked about my next plan.
"Ke Lian, now he has explained the whole story of cause and effect. So what should we do next?"
When Niu Kelian heard the serious matter, he immediately became serious.
"Please follow me, and I will lead the way for you."
As he said that, he took the lead and we quickly followed his pace, fearing that we would lose our direction here.
Before Niu Kelian appeared, we had already seen the Temple of the World. We thought we could reach it soon if we were not far away, but when we walked on, we found that we were not close to the Temple of the World. However, because the building was too tall, we could discover it very far away.
Not long after walking under Niu Kelian's leadership, we saw a stone stairway. Niu Kelian said that the stone stairway is like Qianling, with a total of 537 steps. After walking the stairs, it was a flat and wide sacred road.
The so-called Shinto is the way to the dead. Although Shen Lang had no understanding of this aspect, Shinto had encountered it in our previous explorations. Shen Lang naturally remembered our explanation at that time. He couldn't help but ask curiously when he heard what Niu Kelian said.
"Shidao? Why does Shidao appear in the Shidao in the Wanxiang Temple?"
Seeing that we were all curious about Shen Lang, Niu Kelian led the way and introduced us to the construction method.
The Vientiane Divine Palace in front of us is actually not exactly the same as the records in history. It was built by Guanshan Ministry of Industry. The Ministry of Industry is uniquely ingenious. It integrates the construction styles of Mingtang, Heaven and Qianling. The three complement each other, and the Vientiane Divine Palace in front of us.
For example, where we just landed, the two towering and majestic dragon pillars on both sides of the net bag were inspired by Qianling Mausoleum. The two dragon pillars confronted east and west like two peaks on the south side of Liangshan. In the middle are the stone steps and Sima Road, which is the divine way in front of the tombs that the world calls.
We suddenly realized that no wonder there was a shrine that appeared in front of the tomb here. It turned out that this Wanxiang Temple was built with the construction style of three buildings. The people from the Works Department back then were really unique and people had to admire it.
We continued to move forward, and on both sides of the stone steps, the first one was a pair of majestic octagonal stone turtles. The turtles were carved with cloud patterns, and two dragons were hovering on them, followed by a pair of round and spectacular stone-carved horses with their heads raised and their chests raised. The two wings of the horse were also carved with curling cloud patterns, which seemed to have a flying momentum like the dragon pattern.
Behind the winged horse is a pair of beautiful high relief ostrich, which is a symbol of friendly exchanges with the people of the Western Regions. The ostrich are followed by five pairs of stone horses equipped with drivers and ten pairs of stone Wengzhong, about four meters high. The so-called stone Wengzhong is the stone man in front of the tomb, representing the microcosm of the imperial power and guards, with a majestic expression on his chest.
Behind Shi Wengzhong, four pairs of eight tall and majestic stone lion statues were squatting. The stone lion held its head and chest up and the giant head was wearing its mane. It stretched its feet forward and squatted backward, as tall as Mount Tai, adding a sacred and majestic momentum to this place.
After walking through the stone steps, we came to Shinto. There were also stone sculptures on both sides of the Shinto, but the stone sculptures here were all human figures, without any animal figures.
The two groups of stone statues on the left and right were arranged neatly and respectfully on both sides of the shrine. I counted carefully, and there were thirty-two on the west side and twenty-nine on the east side, totaling 61.
Chunting introduced that these stone people were minority officials and envoys of neighboring countries under the Tang Dynasty at that time. Emperor Gaozong went to attend the funeral when he was buried. In order to promote the power of the Tang Dynasty, Wu Zetian placed their statues in front of the tomb. The size of these stone figures was about the same as that of the real person. He used to call these stone figures the statues of the foreign statues, the Binwang statues, and also the sixty-one statues of the foreign ministers.
The dress of these stone statues is different, including robes and waistbands, and lapels and purple sleeves. However, the carved shapes are both standing side by side and arching their hands, with extremely humble postures, as if they line up here to welcome the emperor, demonstrating the great national prestige at the time of the Tang Dynasty.
We walked and looked along the way. After passing through the nearly 100-meter-long Shinto, we finally saw the first city gate here.
The first gate of this palace was built with white marble. It is roughly estimated that it is about five meters high and four meters wide. The door is precisely carved with various complex and complicated patterns. Just from this door, we can see how prosperous the Tang Dynasty was at that time, which is amazing.
We all stretched out our hands and tried to push the stone gate into the Wanxiang Temple. Then, after trying, everyone found that the stone gate weighed more than a thousand pounds. In desperation, they could only give up this idea and looked at Niu Kelian to know the truth about the stone gate.
Niu Kelian looked at us and talked about the stone gate in front of us.
"According to the records of my ancestors, the first stone gate in the Wanxiang Divine Palace is a big problem. This stone gate weighs 100 tons. If you want to open it with brute force, it will be a bit difficult."
Shen Lang didn't believe in evil. He stretched out his hands again, but he still couldn't shake the stone gate with his strength. Then he walked to Niu Kelian embarrassedly and asked.
"Ke Lian, since you are so calm, you must know how to open this stone gate."
Niu Kelian shook his head, his expression not like a fake.
"There are restrictions on Taoism here. You can only rely on your own strength to use any magical power. Behind this stone gate is a stone that cannot be opened by simply using brute force. Only by mastering the art of mechanisms can it be opened. Ke Lian is a little unintentional and has no choice but to do so."
When Xue Nan heard Niu Kelian's explanation, his doubts increased instead of reducing, and looked at him and asked.
"What is a running stone?"
If we are the most proficient in mechanism techniques among us, we are naturally Chen Gong, who is a member of the Ministry of Works. At this time, he spoke slowly and replaced Niu Kelian to explain to Xue Nan.
"The stone is an ancient mechanism with a simple structure and is not complicated. However, because it is mostly used for the construction of imperial tombs, it is extremely mysterious and rarely spread throughout the world."
After hearing this, Chunting smiled faintly and looked at Chen Gong's face full of faith.
"Mr. Chen, look at your expression and seem to be quite confident in this Jilaishi."
