Chapter 4 Taoist Statue

Locals in Dao County should know about Yin-Yang Cave. It is said that when filming Journey to the West in the 1980s, they planned to film the Yin-Yang Cave. Later, I heard that it was because of the crew's funding issue.

The next day we rested until after 10 o'clock, and I went to Xiao Tang's house because Uncle Xue said there was a yin and yang cave nearby, but we don't know where the specific location is.

"Hello, grandma, what are you going to eat?" I saw the old man stir-fry some yellow noodles in a big pot.

The old lady had a kind face and said with a smile: "This is our Yaoshan oil tea, which is fragrant. Young people can drink a bowl later."

"Okay, grandma, what about Xiao Tang, I have something to look for him."

The old man pointed to the house and said he was doing his homework.

The old house they live in is very broken, and the skinless wall is covered with study certificates. When I entered the house, I saw Xiao Tang reading a math book. When I saw me in, she asked what was wrong.

"It's okay, Xiao Tang, I'll ask you something, do you know how to go to that Yin-Yang Cave?"

"I know, what are you doing there?"

I smiled and said, "Are you here to travel?" I want to take a few photos and serve as a souvenir.

Xiao Tang put down his math book, rubbed his eyes and said, "The Yin-Yang Cave is north of Zaizai Ridge, you can find it by walking along the river. There is Jerusalem in that hole. When I was a child, I often went to dig Jerusalem with my classmates, but now I don't know.

I know if there is still any."

I secretly recorded the approximate location, remembered the small temple I saw last night, and asked again: "And Xiao Tang, what kind of statues are offered to you in the temple."

After hearing what I asked, a hint of panic flashed across Xiao Tang's face.

She said: "Don't ask, I don't know, I'm going to do my homework."

Seeing that she refused to tell me, I felt embarrassed to ask, and after I went back, I told me what I found out.

After hearing this, Master Xue said, "It's not appropriate to go and have a meal. We'll go and have a look in the afternoon."

At noon, it was made by Brother Yu who cooked a fire. He used to cook a big pot rice in the Shaolin Temple kitchen.

We were having dinner in the house, and suddenly we heard the sound of gongs ringing on the street outside, as if someone was shouting.

"What's wrong? This is?" I opened the door and went out to see.

Beating drums and drums, an old man yelled at the villagers who were having dinner. The old man looked very flustered, and I don’t know what happened.

"Uncle Master, listen to what people shout."

Uncle Xue ran to see for a while, and his face suddenly became a little unpleasant.

He said: "What happened. This person said that someone died by the pond in Zaizai Ridge in the morning. He asked someone to go and have a look."

"A dead person?"

Upon hearing the news, the villagers who were having lunch put down their bowls and chopsticks, the old man was pounding the gong in front, and other villagers followed behind.

I put down the bowls and chopsticks and ran back hurriedly and said, "Put your head! It seems something happened! Let's go and have a look!"

I followed the villagers to the place and saw a middle-aged man lying on the small path beside the pond without moving, and the basket of shoulder poles fell to the ground.

Immediately a villager stepped forward and turned the person over. He saw that the person lying on his face was dark red, his face was like a pig's liver, his eyes were turned on, and his lower body was out of control and he pulled his pants.

People are out of breath, die...

I watched the villagers with children, but when I saw the dead, I was frightened and cried.

The adults' faces turned pale, and a woman who looked like the deceased's wife collapsed on the ground and cried in a daze.

At this time, the crowd suddenly stopped a path, and an old lady with a hunchback with a cane came over.

The hunchbacked old lady looked at the corpse with a purple face and suddenly knelt down at the entrance of Guizai Ridge.

The old lady threw away her crutches, folded her hands together, bent down and kowtowed, and at the same time she whispered something loudly in her mouth, saying some dialects that I couldn't understand.

"What does it mean?" I asked.

Uncle Xue whispered: "The old lady said that she had encountered the ghost soldiers' aisle. She accidentally saw the ghost soldiers and was caught out of control. She was so scared that she saw something and was scared to death...

.”

The villagers were all frightened when they heard this. All locals grew up listening to the legend of ghost cubs. Their fathers and grandparents once told stories about ghost cubs, especially some older people.

, regardless of men or women, they are very taboos about these things.

Therefore, as native Daoxian people, they believe in the ghost soldiers and the ghost cubs seducing people.

I know when I heard people talking about it. This hunchbacked old woman with crutches is the tooth woman Xiao Tang told me.

The dentist is usually responsible for managing the Zaizai Temple in the woods. I remember Xiao Tang said that if anyone has something to go to Guizai Ridge, he will ask the dentist for help first. The dentist will burn incense for the small temple before he dares to enter.

"Yunfeng," Xiaoxuan pulled me and asked in a low voice: "Is this person really scared to death? Do you believe it?"

I said I don't know, why are we looking at it.

While watching the crowd, the tooth woman stood up tremblingly with her cane. She muttered a few words to a village name in a low voice. After hearing this, the villagers nodded repeatedly and ran away.

Soon, the man who ran away brought a pair of red couplets and a handful of incense.

The fangwoman drew a circle with a crutch at the entrance of Guizai Ridge. She burned the red couplet in the circle, lit a handful of incense, and inserted it on the burned ashes.

I looked up at the sky.

Widths of blue smoke slowly floated in the air, as if transforming into various human face patterns, covering the Guizai Ridge for a long time, adding a bit of weirdness to this place.

After burning the couplet, the hunchbacked tooth woman slowly entered Guizai Ridge. Other villagers looked at each other, but no one dared to follow her.

Twenty minutes passed.

Suddenly, a sharp-eyed villager shouted in panic: "Old Muleng! Old Muleng!" (Maybe it's the old lady's meaning.)

As soon as he finished speaking, many people saw it. The hunchbacked fangwoman didn't even have a crutch and almost rolled and crawled out!

I also saw this old woman who couldn't even straighten her waist just ran out!

The old woman's face was already white, and her forehead wrinkles were covered with age spots. Her face was whiter now, and her lips were trembling and shouting loudly: "Which one can be used to cause evil! (Who is not afraid of death?) It seems to be gone!

Uncle Xue whispered, "Damn it, she said that some dead man stole the statue of the god in the small temple."

"Illusion?"

I immediately thought of the late Qing Dynasty cinnabar mud statue I saw last night. Who stole it? No, it was still there last night.

I turned my head and looked at Douyazai: "It's not that you stole it, is it?"

"Damn!" Douyazai explained anxiously: "It's my business! I didn't steal it!"

Anyway, this matter was very big, and many people came to the neighboring village to watch. There were so many people, so we didn’t dare to look for Yin and Yang Cave in the afternoon.

The person who died by the pond was from Tianguang Village. His wife said that he went to the field to cut hay for the cows in the morning, but he died unexpectedly. (The villagers all said that they were scared to death.)

Uncle Xue was not in the house in the afternoon, so he would come in the evening. As soon as he entered the house, he drank a large bowl of water.

"Hehe! I'm choking so much. I've been asking someone for an afternoon and finally figured it out."

I said, "Uncle Master, please tell me, what's going on in the temple in the woods?"

He told the news he had found out.

He said that the County Cultural Bureau has a Qing Dynasty County Chronicle. The famous Qing Dynasty tribute student wrote Guizai Ling. This is also the only time in ancient books that "Guzai Ling" is mentioned. Going forward, regardless of official history, Guizai Ling,

There is no record.

This county annals is the original one, the Qing tribute student in the book said:

"In Tianguang Village, there are strange stones coming out of the soil, all of which are human-shaped. Some people say this is a ghost soldier. They pass by the pond at night and hear the rooster crowing and fossils. Some people see it, and their souls wander outside, unconscious."

Mr. Xue said to me again: "According to the elderly in the village, after the tribute student wrote the county annals, two more people died by the pond in the village. The villagers were afraid that it was the ghost soldiers, so they were also in the late 21st year of Guangxu.

It was at the end of 1895 that the villagers invited a capable Taoist priest from other places."

The rumor is that in the winter of 1895, the Taoist priest sat alone in Guizai Ridge all night. In the morning, the Taoist priest said: "This place is dangerous, I am so kind to you, I wish to guard this place for a hundred years. After I die, I can cremate my ashes.

If you make a mud statue and stand in the temple to worship, you can keep your village safe."

"The ghost stones (those stone sculptures) will not fall, and the statues of gods will not leave the temple. Remember, remember..."

Perhaps the rumors are exaggerated, but it is not groundless to say that older people in the village.

So, the clay statue of the Taoist priest in Zaizai Temple has not moved a single step since it was released there in 1895.

This fucking...
