Lectures on the Basics of Buddhism, Potato Mouse, Buddhists for Readers
Dear guys who are willing to enjoy "Zombie Doctor"~ Hello everyone~ I am a super fan of Gaolou~ I'm not a little bit~ Please don't be intoxicated by my super universe's invincible and cute name. My main purpose of surfaced here is to explain some Buddhist content mentioned by Gaoda in the novel. I hope everyone will not finish reading the novel, and after returning home, they will spread rumors based on the words of Gaolou.
Let's get to the point~ Please read it carefully if you are interested in watching this question*^_^*
The article in Gaolou put forward the saying "evil Bodhisattva" - there is light and darkness in the world. There is righteousness and evil. It is just that the world is ignorant, and many Buddhas that are praised are evil Buddhas. After reading this, Xiaozhu understood this word: "Some things such as ghosts, monsters, mountains, monsters, and foxes are wrongly worshipped as Buddhas because of their abilities, or some Buddha statues that appear with horror appearances in Buddhism." But these are not correct. Xiaozhu hopes to use the knowledge you know to make a correct explanation.
The first example of Gaolou's evil Buddha is "The Great Sage Happy Heaven". The "evil Buddha" that appeared in the novel later was also an image of multiple hands, fierce gods and evil swords, and unique skin color. According to Gaolou, these images refer to the images of Tantric Buddhism he had seen before. Anyone who has read the VIP chapter should already know, so Xiaozhu will not say much. These images are indeed very different from the image of the Buddha who is kind and kind-eyed Buddha that we often see. So I think many readers have accepted and recognized the saying of "evil Buddha", and believe that Tibetan Tantra is the source of the great "evil Buddha"? Actually, it is not like this.
Tantric Buddhism, as a Buddhist practice method in Tibet, must be mysterious and distant in the eyes of many people. The tall building also admits that the image of "evil Buddha" mostly comes from the image of Tantric Buddhism. However, during the years as a Buddhist, Xiaozhu has devoted a lot of energy to research the shapes of Buddha statues circulating in Buddhism due to his profession, and there is no image cited by tall building. Therefore, when you have the opportunity to see Buddhist portraits in Tibet, don’t have any connection with the "evil Buddha" in your mind. The only explanation is: the tall building itself is not a Buddhist, and in Tibetan Buddhist art, the lines are elegant, complex and gorgeous, so the image he quotes has been blurred by his own memory. It is no longer the original image. So don’t be confused by the simple literary works of tall building~~~~
Some people must be curious why there are so many evil images in the art of Buddha statues in Tibet? In fact, those are not "evil"! You know, what we see is just a superficial appearance. It is like some people who speak black hair and yellow skin and some speak Chinese, some people who speak blond hair and blue eyes, but they are all humans. So we should clear the phenomenon and look at the essence, right?
In fact, from the perspective of materialism, there are many historical reasons why we see that there are many different phenomena between Buddhism in our Central Plains and the Tibetan Plateau!
First of all, people with a little common sense know that due to the terrain of Tibet, since ancient times, there has been no connection with the Central Plains where we live. Even in modern times, the connection between Tibet and the Mainland was achieved through hardships. Therefore, their cultural customs and even their primitive beliefs are very different from our Central Plains, so their Buddhism is also different from us. Think about it, our traditional Buddhism (Exoteric Sect) in the mainland was brought by Master Bodhidharma from the east and was invited back by Master Tang Sanzang himself to India. At that time, our nation had developed and accumulated a very deep culture, so these scriptures from far away from India still needed to be translated to be accepted by the majority of believers. Therefore, there must be a small part of the translation process due to differences between languages. Some changes have occurred.
But in contrast, Tibetan Tantric Buddhism was directly introduced to India, the birthplace of Buddhism. At that time, Tibet's society was developing very slowly, and cultural knowledge was also held in the hands of high-level personnel as a privilege. Therefore, the vast majority of the lower classes directly accepted the ancient Indian texts and Buddhism, thus retaining many exotic characteristics. Today's Hinduism has many shadows of ancient Buddhism. You can see that there are many similarities with Tibetan Tantric Buddhism in their religious art. Moreover, in our mainland Buddhism, there are also many scriptures that are transliterated. You can find that these transliterated scriptures are Sanskrit, which can prove that Tibetan Tantric Buddhism and mainland exoteric Buddhism are actually precious teachings passed down by Buddhas. There is no essential difference.
In addition, the development of our mainland culture is actually a process of ethnic integration. It is mainly composed of the Han people with a large population, and the spirit of Confucian and Taoism in terms of thought is always permeated. The vast majority of people are also docile because they are mainly engaged in agriculture, handicrafts and commerce. Therefore, the way of expression of Buddhism is also gentle and peaceful, with kind eyes, which is more suitable for us to accept.
In Tibet, because it is located on the plateau, animal husbandry is the mainstream of life, and the nomadic people's customs are rough and bold, their Buddhist art naturally evolved into another style. Therefore, although these Buddhists express different ways and names are different, they are all Buddhism and there is no difference in themselves.
The reason why there are so many different methods is to facilitate the practice of sentient beings with different foundations, just like the points on the sphere, although the positions are different, the distance to the sphere heart is the same. So I hope everyone can understand this.
Next, I will talk about the exoteric and esoteric schools from the perspective of religion, and then resolve some misunderstandings about "evil Buddha". The reason why I do not use "idealism" to name my own perspective is because I do not think that Buddhism is idealistic. On the contrary, Buddhism is materialistic and completely materialistic.
What we want to explain is that the image of "evil Buddha" being quoted by tall buildings is actually called "anger image", which is a completely opposite image to the "compassion image" of Buddha statues in the mainland that we often see. The appearance of "anger image" does not mean that the Buddha is angry, but a convenient manifestation. This is like a good teacher. When educating his students, he sometimes gives praise with a smile, and sometimes he also beats the phone because of students' naughtyness and mistakes. Although the performance is different, it is all for the good of the students. Every Buddha and Bodhisattva have his own anger image, and even the compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva also has it. It is as if everyone knows that the fish blue Guanyin, the gift of the child Guanyin, and the Thousand-Handed Guanyin that we often see are actually the images of Guanyin Bodhisattva appearing to save sentient beings in order to facilitate the salvation of sentient beings. In fact, the anger image is also a kind of image of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, all for the convenience of saving sentient beings.
Then why should there be "anger" to save sentient beings? This principle is the same as why teachers will beat students' hands. Good teachers know that children have the right to receive education and teach different students according to their aptitude. In the eyes of Buddha, sentient beings are equal, but because of different foundations, they also need to save them in different ways. How can warlike Asuras and elegant celestial beings talk to them in the same way? This is the principle.
Here is an example: Since everyone likes to watch the work "Zombie Doctor", they must also like to play some strange and strange things, right? Everyone should know that in ancient times, it was said that mountains and water were different worlds and were controlled by non-humans. So what is non-human? Non-humans do not simply include ghosts, monsters, demons, ghosts, and monsters, but also mountain gods and Hebos. Therefore, although "Shan Hai Jing" is a geographical work, it seems like a complete collection of monsters no matter how you look at it. These elves of nature have extraordinary abilities due to their own cultivation and are worshipped, awe or feared by humans. Among them, those who are close to humans are called mountain gods or daffodils according to human habits, which is also a simple classification. These non-humans who are close to humans accept people
The worship of all kinds meets the various wishes of human beings, but their main purpose is to accumulate merits through this behavior to promote their own practice, or to overcome the disaster of practice. Moreover, since they have not achieved true results in cultivation and cannot completely escape from greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt, it still poses great danger. Not to mention killing, seeking rain, just now, we often worship fox fairies, fox fairies, fox fairies are foxes or weasels. They usually use chickens or ducks as offerings, which is completely forbidden in Buddhism. (Everyone knows that Buddhism advocates eating vegetarian food) Although fox fairies will satisfy the wishes of the worshippers, they know that once they stop offering them, the family will be disturbed by fox fairies.
So imagine it! How many magical existences are there in Tibet's continuous plateau, iceberg, snowy land, mudflats and lakes that we don't know? It must be much more than the grasslands and plains in the mainland?! What should these local snakes do when facing the Buddhist churches introduced from outside? Do you obediently give up their believers and incense? Impossible! "The child is disobedient and beat him up." No matter how bad the personality is, he will calm down after suffering, even if he is quiet on the surface and listens to others' words. But as long as the seeds are planted, it will sprout, and all we have to wait for is an opportunity.
So when Buddhism was spread to Tibet, these monster ghosts and gods, as indigenous people, used their magic power to create countless obstacles. This is the demon calamity. In order to allow the Dharma to spread smoothly, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas showed "anger image" - aren't you falling hail and thunder? Then I will let the sky clear! Are you afraid of changing visions? Then look at how I look now! How will the fierce thugs behave when facing power that absolutely surpasses themselves??? Although we cannot witness that scene with our own eyes, we can imagine that the solemn and huge Buddha's anger appeared in the air accompanied by thunder and lightning, surrounding the Sanskrit sounds sang by the monks, dispelling hail and dark clouds. How directly the shock of the hearts is! Therefore, these ghost gods and gods are afraid and then subdued.
If smart people do something wrong, they can use reason to persuade them to come back. How could these elves with supernatural powers be stupid? But because their previous actions have given them a lot of rewards, even though they have supernatural powers and wisdom, they cannot become Buddhas immediately. They usually become Dharma protectors, gradually removing their cruel nature in their practice, paving the way for the spread of Buddhism to enhance their merits. They also often present a vicious image of many heads and faces to shock the ghosts and remove obstacles to practice Buddhism. Among the Buddha statues of Tantric Buddhism that we often see, they also have a place. Therefore, the "Yasha King" described by Gaolou in the novel is not the "evil Bodhisattva" fabricated by Gaoda to promote the plot.
Finally, everyone must be very curious about the "Great Sage Happy Heaven"? And I think everyone will probably place it in the scope of the evil Bodhisattva. Because as soon as the word "Happy Heaven" appears, the images that appear in your mind are probably both men and women, right? I feel very sad about this.
In the temple of Tantric Buddhism, there are indeed statues of men and women, but we must not use a worldly perspective to speculate. Because they are not a symbol of love between men and women, and they are definitely not arousing the greed and ignorance of sentient beings. Moreover, the tantric precepts are seriously stipulated that it is strictly forbidden to publicly display and promote tantric Buddhism in any form in front of those who have not accepted relevant teachings or non-tantric foundations to prevent these people who do not have a considerable wisdom from having evil views. It is like after we have reached junior high school, we all know that there are positive and negative numbers. This is very normal, but if you tell a child in elementary school, "Do you know? There are negative numbers." Then you will definitely be told by the child that you are lying and doubting you. Because the knowledge you tell them is beyond their understanding.
In other words, even in Tibet, the two-body images of men and women cannot be easily seen. Regarding this point, Xiaozhu cannot explain it due to the precepts, but it can be told that in Tibetan Buddhism, men represent "convenience", while women represent "wisdom". If you cannot understand my previous explanation of the two-body images of men and women, then please use the two-body images of men and women as a symbol - convenience and wisdom are complete. Instead of using a secular perspective to guess it. However, in today's society, there are so many publicly displayed double-body images in many public places, shopping malls, and networks, which is a very serious violation of the precepts of Tantra. Think about it, it is difficult for us ordinary people to keep the simplest five precepts. If we can easily see this two-body image of men and women, it will naturally lead to the world's reality of lust and joy in the name of practice. This is farther and farther away from the liberation that the Buddha hopes?
In addition, as a Buddhist, I have never heard of or seen names like "The Great Sage Happy Heaven" appear in any scriptures. Therefore, I hope that everyone will not doubt or prejudice against Buddhism because of the name.
Many people eat meat and drink wine, and when they are persuaded, they will take out the words of Jigong's words "Wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha stays in the heart." When dealing with this statement, Xiaozhu directly asked: "Jigong Arhat, you are also an Arhat!" That's right, if you want to embezzle, then you have to have a high position. If you want to be as unscrupulous as Sun Wukong, then you must also have the ability to change Sun Wukong 72! Everyone understands this principle. Similarly, the so-called "Happy Buddha". When we see movies, there are often scenes where people die. But we are not afraid. Because our knowledge tells us,
These are all fake, they are special skills. But the wisdom of Buddha is much greater than that of us. When we use our worldly and insignificant wisdom to guess the Buddha's words and deeds, it is ridiculous. If we not only want to guess, but even want to imitate it, it is simply a joke in the world. Why? Because we are not Buddhas. To make a small metaphor, after we see the Buddha doing things, we use our own way to guess and criticize it, it is like an ancient person who saw the high-tech shouting of modern people as a magic trick; after we see the Buddha's actions, we immediately imitate it on this ground, just like a little ant who sees an elephant moving a tree and learns it overestimates himself.
When Xiaozhu was in elementary school, he was different from other children, so as an alternative, sometimes even the teacher didn't like Xiaozhu. There was even a matter of being forced by the teacher to change his religious beliefs. The teacher said that religion is superstition. Due to the years, Xiaozhu no longer remembers the details of the details. However, Xiaozhu believed that when we faced something, that is, we did not go into in-depth contact or did research, and just knew nothing about it, according to the public, it was true ignorance. Because Xiaozhu was not smart enough, what he could do with the "evil Bodhisattva" in the tall building was very meager. But I hope everyone could understand Xiaozhu's intentions. If you are interested, you can contact the Buddhists around you, read Buddhist scriptures in person, and experience the essence of it with your heart, so that Xiaozhu would not be so worried about the trouble that his clumsiness would bring to everyone.
Because everyone who appreciates the book "The Great Building" may not be Buddhists. So I can only say this little pig. Because I am afraid that everyone has misunderstandings about Buddhism because the words of the high building may be themselves, and the tiger is not good at writing, so the tiger speaks very verbose. Thank you very much for keeping seeing the end, and in the end, I wish you all the best in the end: "Thaxidler"
I like this book "Zombie Doctor". Recommended~Support~VIP~Collection together!!
PS. If you meet monks on the road, if it is inconvenient to express respect immediately, please do not have doubts or doubts in your heart? If the people around you speak ill of Buddhism or monks, don’t participate if you can’t stop them? In fact, the Buddhist precepts are very strict. In Tibetan Tantra, the precepts are even stricter. Monks also work hard, especially difficult. Xiaozhu thanks everyone here!
PS. You can often see jokes about monks circulating on the Internet. It is very impolite. Think about it, even ordinary people, joking like this is an insult, let alone monks with the tranquility precepts? That is slander! It is slander! It is slander! In real life, slander. Insulting others is a beaten up, and in serious cases, it is a defendant to court. Slandering and slandering Buddha will not immediately bring you any physical pain, but it will bring you generational reincarnation. Isn’t it more terrifying than short-term pain?
PS. Someone will definitely say, "Then I'm telling the truth~ Look at the monks and wives, so what if they do it, but he can't do it, so I'll say that?" But when you say this, it means you admit in your heart that this person is wrong, so you will say. But think about it. A wolf is wearing sheep's clothing and is like a sheep's call, but it is still a wolf because it does what a wolf does. Similarly, a person does not even observe the most basic five precepts, so everyone can because he looks like a monk.
Just say he is a monk? Can he use him to criticize other monks? This is more absurd than "negating the whole with partial mistakes". And as the saying goes, the speaker has no intention and listens to the intention, but when you say this, you may just make a joke about an individual, but in the ears of others, it creates a bad impression of the overall Buddhist teachings. It is like a snowball rolling bigger and bigger. But this retribution is to be retribution for you who are unintentionally planting willows. How unworthy it is to suffer evil consequences for a sentence.
PS. Although Xiaozhu is a Buddhist, he is a lazy guy as his name suggests. Therefore, he only knows the superficiality of Buddhist scriptures, and the text on it naturally has many shortcomings. I hope that friends who really understand it point out my mistakes and don’t let my wrong explanation mislead more people. Finally, thank you again for your brothers and sisters who have seen the end from the beginning and the end. Even if you just take a quick look, you are sure of me~ Xiaozhu is here to wish you an early age... Don’t slap me in the face!!!!!!
