Section 1174 I'll be tired after a while
Taste his Nalan Shiqi's craftsmanship. So Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo had a second dinner and tasted the more famous Turkey wine, rakiraki, called lion milk, which is very difficult to drink. After dinner, rest, tomorrow is a very worth looking forward to. Pamukkale Pamukkale-Hilapolis.
Today, Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo mainly visited Pamukkale, including Hierapolis and Calcification Pool. The two attractions are together and can be reached on foot from the hotel where Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo stay. Due to the large content, Yunluo is divided into two parts.
Pamukkale (pamukkale, pronounced "Pamukkale") is located in the Denizli province in southwestern Turkey. It is named after the land is like a snow-white castle. Pamukkale is 160 meters high and 2,700 meters long. The city is rich in hot springs and limestone caves, and the spring water flows in terraced fields rich in carbonate minerals.
The mountaintop of Pamukkale is located in the famous ancient city of Hierapolis, where temples and bathing sites from the Roman period can be seen. The climate is mild for most of the year. Pamukkale is a famous tourist attraction in Turkey. Only a few places in the world have similar landscapes.
These include Mammoth Hot Spring in Yellowstone National Park, China Huanglong. Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis on it were jointly listed as a World Heritage Site in 1988. Before being listed as a World Heritage Site, Pamukkale was neglected for protection in the last decades of the 20th century. The hotel was built in scenic spots, and the water from the hot springs was used to fill the hotel's swimming pool.
The pool has dried up. The wastewater discharged from the hotel has caused brown spots on the white rocks. The airport runway was also built on Pamukkale. Visitors walked directly on the rocks in their shoes, used soap and shampoo to bathe in the hot springs, and even rode bicycles or drove motorcycles up and downhills. When it was listed as a World Heritage Site, Pamukkale was losing its former charm.
The Turkish government then strengthened protection measures to restore the original appearance of Pamukkale. The hotel was demolished, and the road up and down Pamukkale was covered with artificial pools, and tourists needed to enter the scenic spot barefoot. The brown spots were not covered by water. Instead, they were exposed to the sun to make the rocks turn white, so the pools were dry.
Hierapolis (Hispanic: epπoλi Holy City) is an ancient Greek city on the top of the hot springs, located in southwestern Turkey, near the modern Nizli. Hierapolis and Pamukkale are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs here have been used for recuperation since the second century BC, and people come here to treat their diseases.
Many of them retire or die here. The huge cemetery is full of sarcophagus, including the Marco Aurelius sarcophagus. The waterwheel is also a view here. The large bathhouse is built with huge stones, without cement, and is connected by various open or enclosed components. The bathroom has deep niches inside, which are enclosed or open spaces such as libraries, gymnasiums.
This complex was built in the 2nd century BC and forms a model of vaulted buildings. This complex is now an archaeological museum. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo woke up in the morning to see the calcification pool in the distance from the hotel, and were very much looking forward to today's itinerary. After packing up, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo came to the upper floor for breakfast. There is a terrace here, which is very beautiful.
Regarding the introduction to this hotel, Yunluo will explain in detail in the later part. After dinner, the hotel owner sent a car to take Nalan Seqi and Yunluo to the main entrance of the scenic spot. The entrance and exit are 3 kilometers away, on the mountain.
This is the entrance and ticket office. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo did not rush in. There was a small hill next to it. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo walked up to take a look. When you came to the hill, you could see a little further. At this time, many tour groups came. These tour groups should have come from Denizley in the morning.
Put a map of the scenic area. Nalan Seqi and Yunluo are now located at the South Gate below. To the east of the scenic area is the historical site of Hierapolis, and to the west is the famous calcification pool. The ticket is 30 lira (90 RMB) per person. Buy a ticket and enter. Enter the South Gate, Yunluo climbs above the stone gate. You can see that the main road leading to the left is towards the calcification pool.
If you want to go to Hierapolis, you need to walk the mountain road on the right. In fact, there are many dirt roads below. There are no one along the way. Later, I saw a Korean team walking on another road and climbing the mountain. Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo even doubt whether this is a blocked road.
However, later, Nalan Seqi and Yunluo discovered that all the roads lead to Rome. After walking not far, you can see many ancient sites. Hierapolis was built in 190 BC. (Qin Shihuang unified China in 221 BC, and 190 BC was the reign of Emperor Hui of Han, the son of Liu Bang of the Western Han Dynasty), and was built by Eumenesiiiofpergamum, the king of Pagama.
It was once a healing center. During the Roman Empire, it flourished and became more and more prosperous during the Byzantine Empire. At that time, most of the population here was Jewish and Orthodox Christians. Frequent earthquakes brought disasters. After a major earthquake in 1334, Hierapolis was finally abandoned. There were snails on the road!
Almost stepped on it! Nalan Seqi and Yunluo rushed directly to the spectacular Roman Theater. The Roman Theater was magnificent and built by two emperors, Hadrian and Septimiusseverus, and can accommodate more than 12,000 spectators. Most of the stage, some decorative panels and front row VIP "box" seats were retained.
The echo of the theater was very good. When Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo were visiting, there happened to be a Korean group. The tour guide led everyone to applaud rhythmically. It turned out that the echo of applause came from all directions of the theater, as if many people were applauding, which was amazing! After visiting the Roman Theater, Nalan Shuqi and Yunluo did not follow the tourists down the mountain.
Instead, we continued to look for new monuments along another road up the mountain. In the distance was the martyrium of the Apostle St. Philip theapostle. The road looked not far away, but actually walked for a long time. When we looked back, no one followed Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo, only bare trees.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo came to the martyrdom of the apostle St. Philip. There was a complex octagonal structure on the ground here, and it was said that St. Philip was martyred here. The arches of the eight auditoriums all had cross marks, and at first the interior was a seven-angle shape. This picture was taken at the height of the ground, and the octagonal shape could not be seen, so Yunluo decided to climb to a high place.
This is from the mountain next to you, you can see the whole picture of the entire martyrdom. But you still can't see the octagon. So Yun Luo decided to climb to that high ground to see. Finally, he could see the octagon. Unfortunately, the camera was not wide enough. Let's take a look! There are many different records about St. Philip from ancient materials.
A fabricated ancient document says that when Philip died, a bloody abyss was cracked on the ground, devouring the Roman governor, the snake worshiper, their temples and about 7,000 unlucky onlookers. In August 2011, Saint Philip's body was found in a Byzantine building excavated by Italian archaeologists.
About 40 meters away from this martyrdom, this sensational news rekindled people's interest in St. Philip and Hierapolis. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo began to go down the mountain, and the white scenery in the distance was the calcification pool. On the way down the mountain, passing by a place called St. Philip's Gate, but there was no "gate".
From the mountain, Nalan Seqi and Yunluo came to the Apollo Temple, and there was basically no original appearance here. There were clearer words on the stones here, but I don’t know what it meant. At the foot of the mountain, next to the calcification pool is an ancient swimming pool, with a water temperature of 36 degrees and rich minerals in the water.
There is also a public swimming pool next to it, but it takes 75 lira (225 RMB) to enter. There are many people inside, all of whom are foreigners. There are many resting places next to the swimming pool, and there are restaurants for dinner. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo looked at it and thought it was expensive, so they rested here for a while and then continued to visit.
After resting, Nalan Seqi and Yunluo did not go to the calcification pool, but went north to visit the remaining Hierapolis monuments. This is a church, but now all you can see is gravel. Continue south, here is the Tumishan Arch, and the road through the door is the central axis of ancient commerce.
This is an ancient public toilet. Continue to walk north and walk out of this ancient commercial street. A cemetery appears in front of you. The ground is full of coffins of all sizes. This kind of coffin is still a duplex structure! Some are engraved with dense texts. The whole picture of the cemetery. Nalan Seqi and Yunluo return along another road parallel to the ancient commercial street of Hierapolis.
This road leads directly to the calcification pool. The greening is very good, and the scenery on both sides is completely different from the other side of the monuments. There is a large area of greening, with Hierapolis on the left and a calcification pool on the right. Many people play paragliding here and can see the entire landform. It looks very good, but I heard that you have to make an appointment in advance.
Continue to walk forward, there are all kinds of flowers and plants on the roadside, and the stream flowing down from the mountain. Walking further forward, I finally saw the legendary calcification pool. People here can't walk up, so they can only walk along the path next to the open place that allows people to enter.
Due to the lack of protection at the beginning, many places are not so white. Walking further, you can see that the group in the distance is where tourists are allowed to enter the scenic area. There is already water here. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo are preparing to enter and need to take off their shoes, but Yunluo wants to say that the entrance looks really dirty!
