Chapter 670: The Great Reorganization of the East Vertical!

On August 20, hundreds of people from the headquarters of the East Column entered Harbin, followed by a field hospital and part of the female soldier company.

Research institutions, temporary schools and arsenals followed up..

This day was Lu Shan’s busiest. Not only did he have to review a large number of documents, he also had to attend some meetings. Although he only showed up in the venue and set a tone, he still kept his feet busy.

In addition, to welcome the arrival of the headquarters, he had to send Zhou Yubin to visit several universities in Harbin, especially Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin University of Political Science and Law. These two schools are the two highest institutions of learning in Harbin at present!

Think about the later generations of Harbin Institute of Technology, which was the cradle of the few military academies in China to cultivate professional military technical talents.

The construction of base areas is indispensable for talent training, and especially under the current special national conditions, military production is the most preferred.

Next, many military-industrial enterprises will start construction, requiring a large number of experts and technical talents.

Lu Shan is naturally very concerned about the only two universities that can provide talents. In addition to these two universities, there are also some junior colleges. Lu Shan also visited and investigated them one by one to understand the education situation in Harbin.

Overall, the education scale in Harbin is quite good in other cities across the country, basically covering all subjects. However, in some aspects, Lu Shan still feels that the scale is too small and the faculty cannot keep up, especially in the enrollment situation. It is almost the same as poor children from poor families who can go to elementary or junior high school, and it is basically impossible to study in a higher school!

Moreover, there are relatively few Chinese students, which is especially reflected in universities. In Chinese universities, Chinese teachers, professors and students have less than one-third. All the rest are foreigners, including Russians, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, etc.

Among them, there are more Russian and Japanese teachers!

Russian Jews also account for a large proportion.

A country and nation’s strength cannot be separated from the spirit of enterprisingness and also from the progress of education!

In the case of insufficient financial resources of the government, gentry can be encouraged to run schools. As long as they obtain the government-approved school qualification, they can run schools independently.

In addition, spend a lot of money on limited funds and invest in government-run schools, especially middle schools and universities. In order to require a large number of high-end talents, in addition to introducing them, we must also take the path of independent training.

The Japanese and puppets occupied Harbin. The control over education was very strict, which made the education community in Harbin feel a huge mountain on its head.

Many progressive teachers and famous professors have been monitored and intimidated, as well as forced Japanese teaching, etc.

But now it's better. The new Harbin Municipal Government not only abolished many policies tied to education during the Japanese and puppet period, but also actively relaxed the conditions for running schools and encouraged private capital to enter the field of education.

This is a very inspiring thing for the Harbin education community.

"Mr. Lu, Ding Chao called. He said that when he was inspecting the army a while ago, he unfortunately had heatstroke and was lying at home now. He may not be able to come to discuss the anti-Japanese plan, but he can send his chief of staff here!"

"This Ding Chao, he is afraid that we will set up the Hongmen Banquet!" Li Du couldn't help but feel a little angry.

If he hadn't brought people away, he wouldn't have been forced to breathe in Yilan. If it weren't for the fact that Dong Zong was later attracted, it would be hard to say whether he was Li Du or not.

With Ding Chao secretly reciprocates with the Japanese, he naturally felt uncomfortable. Now he has found a reason to pretend not to be sick. Isn’t it obvious that he doesn’t trust them?

"If he doesn't come, it means he has a ghost in his heart. Without him, can't our conference be held?" Feng Zhanhai also said angrily.

"That's right, Ding Chao is a fencer. Mr. Lu gave him face and invited him to discuss the plan. He was fine. He didn't give him any affection. What's that?" Li Haiqing also said angrily.

"Old Xing, your territory is closer to him. What's the news about Ding Chao recently? Are you still in contact with the Japanese?"

Xing Zhanqing said: "It has calmed down recently. Ding Chao has taken relatively cold measures against the Japanese, and the Japanese are a little anxious..."

Xing Zhanqing came over as soon as he received the invitation. He was relatively close to him, with few subordinates, only about 3,000 people. He was so overwhelmed by the Japanese that he could not breathe. If it weren't for the East Column heading north, he would have wanted to move the place.

"This old boy Liang didn't dare either!"

"Mr. Lu, what do you mean?" Everyone talked for a long time and found that Lu Shan had not expressed his opinion yet!

Xing Zhanqing also thought that the Anti-Japanese Conference of the Three East Provinces was initiated by Feng Zhanhai, Li Haiqing and Li Du. After he arrived, he realized that the real idea was this young man named "Lu Shan".

In addition to being young, Xing Zhanqing also found that this young man had a calm and generous atmosphere that ordinary people do not have. Simply put, wherever he sat, his aura would immediately become the center of everyone. Even if he sat in the corner, it would be the same!

The veteran Li Du, as well as the newcomers such as Feng Zhanhai and Li Haiqing, are all following the lead of this young man.

Originally, he didn't know who Lu Shan was, but after a little inquiry, he was shocked, the Lord of the Dongzong.

This identity is enough to become the leader of all anti-Japanese armed forces in the three northeastern provinces. Who doesn’t know that the most powerful anti-Japanese armed forces at the moment are the East Column, with more than 100,000 armors and beating the Japanese have successively lost their troops and generals. Even when the Japanese talk about the word "East Column", they are disgusted.

"Since General Ding Chao is sick, let's wait a little longer. The heat stroke will be relieved in a few days. We don't rush to have a meeting, right? We have to wait for others!" Lu Shan said.

"Mr. Lu..."

"Listen to me, you all know more about General Ding Chao's human nature than me. He is indeed a little weak and has a little bit of a small plan. But he is finally a Chinese, and he still has five thousand troops under his command, so we don't have to do it. He will fall into the arms of the Japanese. It is not a good thing for us. If Ding Chao surrenders to the enemy, it will have a very bad impact on the great cause of anti-Japanese war. Therefore, if we can fight for it, we must fight for it!" Lu Shan explained.

Lu Shan has never seen Ding Chao, but there are too many people like Ding Chao. Anti-Japanese war is not just about driving the Japanese out of China. After driving them out, come to fight again?

To put it objectively, many people never thought of being a traitor at the beginning. Some people with weak will and those who cannot withstand temptations. Some people are even forced. How many people can watch their parents, wives and children die indifferently?

Ding Chao did become a traitor in the future in the history that Lu Shan knew, but at least he has not yet fallen into the arms of the Japanese.

The ability to pull him over is temporarily out of the point of saving him, but out of political considerations.

The Dongzong is going to hold an anti-Japanese conference, and everyone else has come, but Ding Chao has not come. What will this make the outside world guess?

Is it a suspicion that the Dongzong was holding a conference to annex the anti-Japanese armed forces? That is why Ding Chao did not dare to come here in person?

Moreover, some anti-Japanese armed forces of some small anti-Japanese forces are also swaying. They have no contact with the Japanese?

Ding Chao was so scared that he didn't dare to come out. These people were even more afraid to come!

"What Mr. Lu said makes sense. If Ding Chao doesn't come, there will definitely be many people who won't come." Feng Zhanhai said.

"But our conference date has been set, if..."

"It doesn't matter. Although the day of the conference has been finalized, how long will it take to get from Baoqing to Harbin? Besides, there are still more than ten days left. Many people have a long journey and need to walk a lot of roads in the middle. We have time to pass through many levels." Lu Shan explained.

"Well, then wait..." Li Du nodded.

"Mr. Lu, why don't I go to Baoqing in person?" Xing Zhanqing volunteered.

Not only did he come to the meeting, but he also brought his team to Harbin. This time he came here, he planned to join the group completely.

"Old Xing is fine, but when he sees General Ding Chao, he needs kind words to comfort him, clarify our sincerity, and ensure his life in Harbin." Lu Shan said.

"Don't worry, Mr. Lu, I know what to say." Xing Zhanqing stood up and said.

"Brother Xing, go and tell Ding Chao that as long as he is willing to come, my old Li and I have written off all the grudges with him before, and I will be a good brother who will fight against Japan and fight against the Japanese in the future!" Li Du said loudly.

"Don't worry, General Li, I will definitely bring it!" Xing Zhanqing said heavily.

Xing Zhanqing left without taking anything, so he took a squad of guards to Baoqing.

With the arrival of Ying Ruoyu, Liu Yushu and the headquarters, the pressure on Lu Shan’s shoulders suddenly decreased a lot.

In terms of logistics, Liu Yushu was concerned about the military training and overall arrangements, Ying Ruoyu was responsible for the 1st brigade of Zhang Yihu and Zhang Zongzhou's military corps also drove into Harbin!

The 1st Brigade of the Education Brigade was the Imperial Army of the East Column. After entering Harbin, it replaced Li Haiqing's troops and became the garrison force in Harbin. After the three brigades of Li Haiqing and Feng Zhanhai were repaired, plus the Yichun Guard Brigade adapted from the Second Division, it took Feng Zhanhai as the commander-in-chief, Zhang Guanyi and Li Haiqing as the deputy commander-in-chief, and cooperated with Li Du's Yilan Guard to start the regaining operations of the Japanese-puppet-controlled areas in Heilongjiang!

Zhang Zongzhou replaced Feng Zhanhai as the director of the Harbin Special City Police Department, and Zhang Yihu took over as the commander of Harbin Police!

Lu Shan gave Feng and Li the order that in early September, all Japanese and puppet remnants in Heilongjiang except Qiqihar will be wiped out and all assets left by the Japanese and puppets.

As Li Haiqing's troops set off, Zhang Zongzhou's military corps entered Fuyu, and Zhang Zongzhou also served as the commander of Fuyu's security!

Then Tie Meng led the Panshi Anti-Japanese Detachment to Shulan, and the Panshi Anti-Japanese Detachment was reorganized into Shulan's Security Brigade. Tie Meng temporarily served as brigade commander, Dong Zhenshan was appointed as deputy brigade commander, Yao Bingqian was appointed as deputy brigade commander, and Zhang Shawu was appointed as chief of staff!

The 100th Cavalry Brigade was temporarily staying in Jilin, posing a threat to the Japanese army in Changchun. After the bloody battle, the Jilin Security Brigade killed more than 3,000 people, and the total number was about to 7,000!

In order to coordinate and command various departments to better exert the combat effectiveness of the troops, Lu Shan made some adjustments to the military system of the East Column.

Three major military sub-districts were formed.

The First Military Sub-district, also known as the Liaodong Military Sub-district, the sub-district commander: Lei Dong, deputy commander: Huang Yuzhou, Deng Tiemei, Chief of Staff: Sun Mingchen.

Under the jurisdiction, the 2nd Brigade, the 2nd Brigade, the 5th Brigade, the 7th Brigade, and the 8th Brigade.

There is also the Artillery Brigade He Shili's Ministry.

The total force is about 35,000.

After the Benxi War, the troops of each brigade were expanded. After the construction of 3 and 4 divisions was abolished, the troops were added to the Southern Army. Now the brigades of the Liaodong Military Sub-district are in the first brigade and four regiments. In addition, there are scouts assigned to the brigade headquarters, as well as a small number of cavalry and engineers, and the troops are considered to be very strong.

The Second Military Sub-district, known as the Jidong Military Sub-district, is called the division commander: Tang Juwu, deputy commander: Li Chunrun, Guo Jingshan, Chief of Staff: Bao Jinghua.

Under the jurisdiction: the First Brigade, the Third Brigade, the Fourth Brigade, the Second Agricultural Reclamation Division, and the Dongman Detachment.

and a few guerrilla detachments.

The total force is about 30,000.

After the bloody battle with the 9th Division, all brigades were injured. In addition to the education of puppet army prisoners captured during the war, some high-quality militia teams were also added, which are gradually regaining their combat effectiveness!

The Third Military Sub-district, also known as the Harbin Military Sub-district, is a division commander: Lu Shan, deputy commander: Li Du, Feng Zhanhai, Chief of Staff: Li Haiqing.

Under the jurisdiction, the 1st Education Brigade, the 9th Brigade, the 10th Brigade, the 11th Brigade, the 12th Brigade, the Jilin Guard Brigade, the Shulan Guard Brigade, the Construction First Division was reorganized into the Yichun Guard Brigade, and the Mudanjiang Guard Brigade and the Yilan Guard Brigade were reorganized into the Second Division.

The total force exceeds 60,000, which is almost the sum of the first and second military sub-districts!

In addition to the three military sub-districts, there are two Army Aviation Brigades, of course, which are directly under the headquarters of the East Column. There are two below that each have more than 100 vehicle regiments, which are affiliated to the General Logistics Department.

The Eastern Column's direct team expanded from the previous four and a half to six brigades, with a total of more than 600 people, as well as a female soldier company, which was expanded into a female soldier battalion, which was also directly under the headquarters, with a number of about 500 people.

There is also a military police force of three thousand people.

The headquarters also has multiple scientific research institutions, arsenals, clothing factories, etc.

In this way, the Eastern League has more than 150,000 people. If the workers and families of the arsenal are included, it will cost at least 200,000.

This scale is close to one-third of the Northeast Army's heyday, but compared with the territory controlled by the East Column, it is quite the same.

Lu Shan calculated that there was almost no room for streamlining the number of people next, but he could put in effort to refine the personnel configuration, which could quickly improve the combat effectiveness and training level of the troops!

Of course, it depends on how the Japanese plan is. If Japan wants to fight, then they can only accompany him. If the Japanese want to slow down, then they will hit him. Take this opportunity to temper the team, optimize the structure, and improve the training of the troops.
