Chapter 1 Wang Di's Spring Heart
"Volume 7: Setting the Universe"
There is an extremely dangerous mountain range in the boundary of Bashu and Luozhou, called Evil Hu Mountain. Its terrain is dangerous and difficult to calm down.
This evil tiger mountain is said to be transformed by a fierce tiger. It is rumored that before the pre-Qin period, the old Dragon King in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River left behind a son and a daughter. His son was an evil dragon, causing waves and rolling up a flood. His sister, Longnu, was kind-hearted and could not bear to see the people suffering in the flood, so she quietly rushed to Lingyun Mountain overnight, opened a hundred-foot-wide gap, and dripped away the flood.
After the evil dragon appeared, she was locked into a cave and sent a tiger to guard it. A young man named Du Yu received a dragon-headed crutch given by the gods and decided to eliminate harm for the people. Finally, he successfully subdued the evil dragon, killed the tiger, released the dragon girl, and married the dragon girl.
This Du Yu was the "Wang Emperor" mentioned by the people later.
The legendary story did not end when the young man rescued the Dragon Girl and became the emperor and queen of the ancient Shu Kingdom. Because in the process of controlling the flood, a minister named Bi Ling showed his extraordinary abilities, Emperor Wang appointed him as prime minister. Unexpectedly, Bi Ling was ambitious and designed to lead Emperor Wang out of the royal city, and finally killed Emperor Wang. Later, he coveted the beauty of the Dragon Girl and wanted to occupy the Dragon Girl.
The dragon girl was eager for the return of Wangdi, so she naturally refused to accept the turtle spirit. After Emperor Wangdi died, because she was worried that the dragon girl would not dissipate, she turned into a cuckoo and wailed outside the dragon girl's window. When the dragon girl saw the crying cuckoo, she knew that it was the murdered Wangdi. She died of heartbreak. After her death, she also turned into a cuckoo and left with Wangdi.
Emperor Wang’s spring heart entrusted to the cuckoo!
What we are talking about is this sad and touching legend.
However, although this beautiful story was widely circulated among the people of Bashu, in later history books, Bi Ling, who was the villain of this story, was a promising monarch. He established an enlightened dynasty for three hundred years in the ancient Shu Kingdom until it was later destroyed by Qin Kingdom.
Now that the destruction of the Ming Dynasty has been more than a thousand years, the existence of the enlightened dynasty can only be found in Chinese history books. Only those who like to study historical materials on the ancient Shu Kingdom will know about Bi Ling's virtues and politics in the ancient Shu Kingdom.
As for Shu, although the graphics and characters used in the ancient Shu Kingdom were occasionally seen, no one could understand them. Most of them did not know the existence of enlightened dynasties before they were conquered by China.
What is still circulating is the only beautiful legend of Emperor Wang and Dragon Girl, as well as the villain Bei Ling, who is greedy for the beauty of Emperor Wang in the story and killing Emperor Wang.
On the Fushe Road west of the Evil Tiger Mountains, there is a stone city called Yuliu. This is the only way to march into Shu through the Fushe Road.
At this moment, the person guarding here was Mu Yuan, a famous general from Yinguiling in the twenty-seven caves of the Sanhuang Jiuling in Xiling.
As the general who made the greatest military achievements in the Miao army leaving Xiling, Mu Yuan was actually unsuccessful a few days ago.
After the Miao army completely occupied Bashu and the two states in the upper reaches of the Long River, the next plan was to use troops to the seventh southwest routes of China.
At that time, the Miao army had a very clear understanding of the bandits on the Seventh Route in the Southwest and almost believed that it would be a battle and would win.
Mu Yuan, who was supposed to be entrusted with important tasks, unexpectedly was placed in the rear by Brother Wu for other reasons. Brother Wu sent his brother-in-law Ma Jingzhan at that time.
In fact, although Ma Jingzhan was not the top general of the Miao army, he also had certain strength and led elite soldiers in the Miao army. However, no one expected that in that battle, the Red Turban Army actually used artillery that had never appeared on the battlefield before.
Although the Miao soldiers were elite, they were defeated by the sudden bombardment, and the army could not form a formation. Then, under the strong attack of the Red Turban Army, which was even fewer soldiers and horses, they were defeated on the whole line and suffered heavy losses.
Ma Jing Zhan's great defeat and the losses of many elite soldiers were completely unexpected for the Miao army. With the surrender of the Red Turban Army and other southwestern bandits to Zhou Ting, the territory of the barbarian army suddenly became difficult. Although it occupied the upper reaches of the long river, the Miao army did not have a navy in the river. If it did not capture Bafan Town, it would be impossible to stand out on the ground.
In addition, since the barbarian army expanded too quickly, the north was basically in the hands of the barbarian army. Although Brother Mu had thought of forcibly breaking out from the direction of Sibi Cave, in that case, it would be like a direct conflict with the barbarian army. After thinking for a long time, he could not make such a decision.
Unlike the barbarian army, which occupied a large amount of land but had no time to digest and further motivated soldiers with military merit system, when the territory could not continue to expand, the contradictions caused by the uneven distribution of spoils within the Miao army were almost impossible to resolve.
While the advance and retreat were lost, Brother Mu used troops to the southwest again despite the opposition of Ming Wu Zhu Shi. As a result, the Red Turban Army, whose military skills were even more unpredictable, was hit hard by the Red Turban Army.
This time, the defeat led to a fight within the Miao army. After forcibly suppressing dissidents through bloody means, Brother Mu had to start facing the southern troops attacking Bashu in two groups after the Chinese martial arts conference. And Mu Yuan was also urgently transferred to guard Yuliu City under this situation.
As a well-known general in the Miao army, the arrival of Mu Yuan greatly boosted the morale of the Miao soldiers at the bottom.
However, Mu Yuan was standing on the top of the city, but he had a gloomy face. For him, he was considering how to win this victory or whether he could return to Yingui Ridge alive... In fact, he couldn't tell clearly.
Behind him, the Miao soldiers who were constantly busy were in an orderly manner, forcibly driven to the top of the city and continued to strengthen their fortifications, occasionally raised their heads and looked at his back, their eyes full of resentment.
For the people of Bashu, in the eyes of the Chinese court, they are certainly people who are transformed into foreign countries, but they are actually not very close to the Miao people in Xiling. Bashu was originally a place where Chinese and Miao people live together. Since the Qin Dynasty, they have been considered part of China. The old graphic characters have long been lost. Although they are somewhat isolated from the outside world due to terrain, they are still deeply influenced by Chinese culture.
There is not much difference between the Bashu people's consciousness when the Zhou Dynasty was ruled by the Miao soldiers who were killed in Xiling. The distinction between China and the barbarians almost does not work in places like Bashu. However, the war was caused by these Miao people in Xiling. The relatively calm Bashu, which was originally isolated from the outside, became war-torn because of these Miao soldiers. Now it is forced to be in power by the Miao soldiers who are afraid of Zhou soldiers. It is impossible for them to be without resentment.
The fortifications of Yuliu City were built very quickly.
Since Ningjiang used "cement" for the first time in Caishixia, Man and Yi have also begun to study this new thing. However, it is easy to mine limestone, and it is not easy to burn it into quicklime that can be used to make cement. Ningjiang uses the Taoist talisman technique to strengthen the hardness and control the temperature of the kiln wall. Without the assistance of magic, it is not easy to make lime on a large scale with the current manufacturing process.
Fortunately, Xiling also has witchcraft in Xiling. After the current method of exploiting and using turbulent tincture oil, the Ming witch Zhu Shi finally successfully mastered the skills of large-scale lime production, so that the fortifications of Bashu cities can be strengthened quickly in a very short time.
Despite this, at this moment, Mu Yuan still had no confidence in defending this place with his elite soldiers and generals, relying on powerful fortifications and the rugged terrain of Bashu itself and narrow mountain roads. This was almost unimaginable in the past.
The dark sky and the cold wind whistled, Mu Yuan stood on the high wall, looking at the enemy troops in the distance, and rolled out the chariots with artillery. This winter in Bashu is a bit difficult...
In the Chinese Army outside the city, the generals led by Wang Keyuan and Yue Qing.
At this moment, the two were standing on the platform wearing heavy cotton coats, looking at the soldiers who were also busy.
Unlike the opposite side, although the cold winter is cold, the soldiers of the entire front army are still energetic.
The entire south has been promoted to prime minister at this moment, and at the same time it also serves as the "first army" policy of the world's military and horse marshals, operating strongly. All the forces gather together, like a boiling dragon, and they are the minions that are about to grab the enemy. Although they are the power of a single army, they carry the power of the entire dragon.
This strategy of military pioneering was something they had never seen before and could never imagine. Everything was given priority to the army, everything was given priority to war, and all the power was used. Any stumbling block that dared to drag the front line would be crushed to pieces under such high-speed wheels. The generals in front were supported by the whole country, and the great power to adapt to the front was also pushed by the entire wave.
This is an unimaginable thing that they were in the Confucian culture before!
The land of Bashu is easy to defend but difficult to attack, and there are not many roads to enter Shu. With the terrain factor, almost every enemy can easily build cities and fortifications in key locations. This also means that the attacking side basically does not have much roundabout tactical space, and almost every battle is a tough battle.
In this way, one siege after another was originally difficult to capture in such a cold winter... or in other words, it was impossible to capture, but now, looking at the rows of artillery fire, with explosive packs, martial arts masters ready to rush up at any time, and those Taoist priests who were constantly adjusting the angle of artillery, their confidence in siege increased as well.
"If this continues, maybe one day, even the vanguards will not need to charge into battle. The chariots will advance and rows of bombarded over." Because they stood too high and the cold wind was forcing people, Yue Qing pulled his collar and smiled, "I'm really not used to such a tactic."
"Jusu Shuai asked me to take you tighter." Wang Keyuan also smiled, "In such a place, horse war does not work at all, and charging is no longer what we should do."
As the vanguard general in Weiyuan's army, Wang Keyuan and Yue Qing fought all the way on the battlefield, experiencing countless lives and deaths, and now they are like brothers. In fact, their backgrounds are quite different. Wang Keyuan was born in a family of military generals with inherited traditions, and Yue Qing was a grassroots hero who had been a bandit.
However, in the past Great Zhou Dynasty, military generals like Wang Keyuan were basically at the bottom of the entire Great Zhou military system. Although they were supported by the court's salary, any civil servant could be pressed on his head. In the eyes of those superiors from Confucian and Taoist backgrounds, their status was no different from those of the grassroots people like Yue Qing. In the eight hundred years of Confucian world, all military men were looked down upon, and their family background and background were not enough to become a barrier between them.
Wang Keyuan entered the Weiyuan army earlier than Yue Qing. Although he was a hereditary general, he had also read books. Compared to Yue Qing, who only started to enter the army when the Weiyuan army became stronger, he had experienced the previous tragic situation of successive defeats in the north. He knew what the situation was like to defeat like a mountain, so he was much more stable than Yue Qing.
Every time the Weiyuan Army goes to war, it adopts a cooperative system of one general and one general. Two people with good relationships, able to cooperate with each other and have different personalities. They serve as the brains of the army, one main and one auxiliary. One of them must have been a study. When participating in the formulation of the combat plan with another main general, they also have to take into account the lives of the lower-level soldiers, the morale and thoughts of the soldiers in the army... vary.
Wang Keyuan, who has now begun to join Confucian martial arts, holds such a position in the main force in the attack on Bashu. This is a battle that requires continuous attacks. Before the flowers bloom next spring, the entire Bashu battle must be conquered. The final decision of the entire army's tactics was handed over to the energetic Yue Qing. What he had to do was to make up for the lack of tactics and to the operation of the entire army, so that every order of Yue Qing could be completed with the greatest efficiency.
To some extent, this is actually a more important and less easy position.
Behind them, more and more soldiers gathered in a mighty manner, and the rows of cannons had been debugged. In the past, they were always used to it. Yue Qing, who was on the front line, rubbed his hands hard, and pinched his knuckles with a crackling sound. "It's almost time, let's fight!" He turned his head, thought for a while, and looked at the flag bearer in a corner of the high platform, "Try it!"
