Chapter 760 Yamaguchi

A mountain pass, also known as "jade pass" or "mountain saddle".

It is generally believed that a mountain pass is the result of erosion and cutting through the watershed by rivers on both sides of the ridge. It will naturally become a passage through a mountain range, and because it is usually low in terrain, the cost of passing will decrease in stages.

The Mamisojsky Pass in the eastern Caucasus Mountains is such a pass.

(Note: Modern built a highway at this mountain pass from Salda to Chilik)

Captain Fedor was a company commander of the 100th Regiment of the 1st Mountain Division. They were responsible for defending the left side of the mountain pass, and the other company, the Second Company, was stationed on the other side of the mountain pass.

Captain Fedor and his subordinates have been resisting the Soviet army for six days here.

Captain Ferdo's first and second companies adopted the tactic of alternate cover. Simply put, when the Soviet army launched a charge towards the first company's position, the first company resisted a little and then retreated to the second line of defense along the traffic trench. The Soviet army would follow the German army to chase forward.

Then, naturally, the flanks of the Soviet storm formation would be exposed to the muzzle of the Second Company opposite the mountain pass, and then the first company and the second company would cooperate to fight the Soviet army back.

Similarly, if the Soviet army attacked the Second Company, the Second Company would retreat and give up a line of defense in front to prevent the charge of the Soviet army from being attacked by the two German armies.

German soldiers called this tactic "tango" because the two companies were like two legs of two "tango", working together to advance and retreat.

The battle was quite easy, because Fedor still had time to argue with Captain Hans, the second company commander, on the walkie-talkie:

"If this is a 'tango', then the second company must be a man!" said Captain Hans.

"No, of course not!" Fedor opposed in a roar of cannons: "The attacks that repelled the Soviets five times in a row were more than you, we are men!"

"That's right!" Hans said: "The Soviets like to hit women, so they hit you five more times!"

"Go to you!" Fedor cursed loudly, and then the two of them laughed on the walkie-talkie.

At this time, the Soviet army launched another attack, and both sides attacked at the same time.

Since the Soviet army noticed the tricks made by the Germans three days ago, they have begun to use synchronous attacks, but this still cannot change anything.

The reason is very simple. A German company is more than enough to block the Soviet attack. Both sides agreed to discuss who should first push the other side and still retreat a little like before, and then the previous clamping state would be formed.

but……

This time, the German army soon discovered that things were different, because a round of machine gun bullets came from afar from behind and "swish" sounded over the German army's head.

"What's going on?" Fedor asked loudly.

Hans shouted in panic from the walkie-talkie: "The Soviets have gone around behind us, we are surrounded!"

"Stand!" Fedor replied: "They said someone will come to save us at critical moments!"

"Do you believe their words?" Hans asked.

"Of course!" Fedor replied: "It was General Freco's order, he never deceived us!"

"I'm not as confident as you... Oh, God, they have at least one camp around us!"

Hans estimated that it was right. A battalion of the Soviet army did circumnavigate behind the German army. They walked around the mountain pass for more than ten kilometers, crossed a peak at an altitude of two thousand meters, and even crossed several cliffs. It took four days to arrive.

For this reason, Melskov, who led the team, also injured his arm, which was still hanging around his neck. His subordinates also either freeze to death during the trip, or kill more than 30 people.

But Melskov thought it was worth it because they were waiting for this moment.

"Comrades!" Melskov held up his gun with his uninjured right hand and waved it forward: "The time for victory is here, let's kill these fascists, let them know the price of invasion of us!"

The Soviet soldiers shouted, and rushed towards the German positions with bayonets under the cover of machine gun fire...

According to common sense, the German army should be unable to avoid being surrounded and annihilated because they were already surrounded by enemies, and the enemy's encirclement was so small that it could not be transferred or avoided.

However, at this moment, Merskov felt a strange airflow, and the sound of some motors could be heard faintly in the sound of gunfire.

Merskov looked back and there was nothing.

But the next moment, he opened his eyes wide and couldn't believe what he saw... A strange plane with spirals on both sides rose from the cliff and appeared in front of him. The dozens of barrels under the wings made his scalp numb, so that Melskov didn't notice the three machine guns on the left, middle and right below the fuselage.

The machine gun is actually the one that plays a role, because at this time the distance between the enemy and us is too close, and the rocket launcher's accuracy is easy to be injured by accident.

Merskov hurriedly shouted at the soldiers: "Enemy behind!"

But it was too late. The three machine guns of the armed helicopter spit out flames, and dense bullets flew up in the snow, and then extended to the Soviet group that was charging towards the German positions... Rows of Soviet troops fell down screaming, and they didn't know where the bullets came from until they died.

Then the armed helicopter fired a row of rockets in the direction of the Soviet army on the other side, and balls of flames rose into the air, cutting off the second half of the Soviet charge troops in half... This was because of fear of accidentally hurting one's own people, so the rockets fired in the distance.

Immediately afterwards, two more armed helicopters emerged and crossed the German heads "twist" and the machine guns below fired violently at the remaining Soviet army.

The Soviet army hurriedly raised its gun to fight back, but the armor at the bottom of the armed helicopter was thickened enough to resist Soviet rifles and light machine guns... This is also one of the reasons why helicopters are powerful weapons for highland combat. It is rare for the enemy to have heavy equipment in their hands.

This made the Soviet army's resistance insignificant, and the armed helicopters were simply a massacre against the Soviet army lined up in dense formations below.

What's worse is that more than a dozen helicopters appeared around, and then fully armed German soldiers slid down from the helicopter.

"I'm right!" Fedor said with a walkie-talkie: "They will appear. It's the First Infantry Regiment. Let's intersperse with them Baku, you still remember!"

"Of course!" Hans replied: "Do you know? I hate them!"

"Why?" Fedor asked in confusion: "They just saved our lives!"
