Chapter six hundred and eighty first vicious incident

At three o'clock in the morning, Qin Chuan was woken up by Eberhard.

Qin Chuan looked at his watch and looked at Eberhard in confusion. He remembered that the attack time was five o'clock, which was after dawn... The German army with air supremacy usually launched an attack at dawn, and this time was no exception.

"What happened?" Qin Chuan asked, knowing that something must have happened.

"I think you need to deal with this matter, Major!" After walking out of the bunker, Qin Chuan found that there were more than a dozen German soldiers waiting for him outside.

After a closer look, there was a corpse on the ground, and there was a tied German soldier next to it.

"What's going on?" Qin Chuan asked.

After Eberhard's narration, Qin Chuan learned that the soldier who was controlled was Herbert, and the body on the ground was a corporal named Goldman, and they were comrades in three companies and one row.

It was not a big deal, and Herbert stole a parcel from the transport truck and enjoyed the cigarettes and food in the parcel alone.

This is of course not allowed in the German army, which is not very generous in supply, otherwise the entire army would become shameful thieves, and the army fighting on the front line would never get sufficient supplies and would be hungry.

Even so, the punishment will not be too severe.

The reason is that this is a battlefield, and officers often have no choice but to use these soldiers who make mistakes.

Closed?

He won't have to go to the battlefield.

corporal punishment?

There are too many bumps and bangs on the battlefield, and getting two punches is nothing to them.

More importantly, Herbert will be punished in honor, that is, remembering demerits, taking back medals, etc.

But then it unexpectedly developed into a vicious incident.

Goldman happened to see Herbert's stealing and told Herbert when they stood guard together: "You should return the stolen goods immediately or hand over, otherwise I will report this to my superiors!"

This made Herbert a little absent-minded, and then he came up with an idea.

He took advantage of Goldman's not paying attention and quickly ran to the machine gun point and turned the gun to fire at Goldman. He then threw out several grenades... This machine gun was left for the sentry to use in an emergency, and there were also several grenades with unscrewed lids next to it.

Herbert claimed to the German soldiers who arrived later that several Soviet guerrillas robbed machine guns and killed his comrades.

But the problem is... Goldman was only seriously injured. He briefly recovered his consciousness before his death and told the military doctor the truth.

Qin Chuan was shocked after hearing the incident. He looked at Herbert with an incredible gaze and said, "I thought we were all brothers who share life and death!"

Herbert replied: "We are, sir..."

Before he finished speaking, Qin Chuan kicked him to the ground: "You pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger and killed him, and you called yourself a brother!"

"You are our shame, you bastard!"

...

Qin Chuan cursed and greeted Herbert with all his strength.

At this moment, Qin Chuan almost collapsed, just like the crazy soldier on the battlefield, because he felt that he could no longer stand this dark place. Not only had to face threats from the enemy, but also had to be careful of his own plots in the rear. If possible, Qin Chuan just wanted to go as far as possible and leave this ghost place forever.

Thinking about it afterwards, Qin Chuan thought he was in a state of losing his mind to vent his negative emotions.

Because this is just a very rare instance, even in some ways, such a thing is normal... There is also vicious murder in peaceful society, let alone soldiers who fight and kill on the battlefield all day long. When they encounter problems, they are used to solving them with guns, especially they have to bear such heavy pressure.

"Sir!" Herbert, covered in blood, struggled to get up from the ground and said, "I hope you can give me a chance to die on the battlefield!"

"No, Herbert!" Qin Chuan refused without thinking: "You won't have this opportunity!"

As he said that, he raised his head and asked the German soldiers to take Herbert down.

Qin Chuan believed that Herbert did have the intention to die on the battlefield. Perhaps he would be very brave on the battlefield and would take some Soviets to take charge before he died.

From this perspective, Qin Chuan should probably give him this opportunity, because the battlefield is about interests.

But in the battlefield, sometimes even if you want to choose a way to die for yourself, you can't do it.

Because for Qin Chuan, or for the 1st Infantry Regiment and even the entire German army, the military minutes are much more important than the possible results Herbert could have created.

So, the 1st Infantry Regiment lined up in front of the barracks half an hour in advance, and Colonel Slein read out Herbert's crime in public and sentenced him to death.

Then, the military judge in the regiment pushed Herbert up with several gendarmes. Although it was not dawn yet, everyone could see his pale face and staggering steps in the faint flashlight.

Without a slight pause, the military police tied it to a wooden stake that had been erected in advance and covered his eyes with a mask.

The clerk followed the army and said something softly in his ear. Although he couldn't hear clearly, he knew that the Lord would forgive his sins and so on. If this could relieve his guilt before his death, it would be considered a good thing.

But everyone understands that this will not work, because there were precedents before being punished with shame and punishment like this...Berg.

In order to serve as a warning, the troops will list them as typical examples in the team and even teach new recruits a lesson as counterexamples.

Of course, when it comes to counterexamples, I won't talk about someone in detail, but this is enough.

Herbert obviously knew that he would be one of them, and couldn't help but lower his head and cry quietly.

But this does not stop the next move of the firing squad.

"stand at attention!"

"Prepare!"

The firing squad raised the gun with the command and pulled the trigger in the command.

"Bang bang..." After a gunshot, there were holes of blood gushing out of Herbert's chest.

The crying stopped, and he fell down on the rope, consciousness and strength, or the soul, could also be said to have left his body.

A few seconds later, the military doctor walked up to check. Although his injuries were serious, he still had a pulse, so he looked at the military judge standing aside.

The military judge walked over, raised the loaded Ruger pistol, and shot Herbert's temple at close range.

Needless to say, the military doctor had no pulse when he went up for examination. In fact, a shot was unnecessary, because the pulse disappeared just by waiting for a few seconds.
