Chapter 33 Survival
"Did you fire the gun?" The sergeant shouted at Qin Chuan from a distance. He noticed that Qin Chuan was the only person holding a rifle.
"Yes!" Qin Chuan replied.
"Good fight!" said the sergeant: "Maybe I should thank you, you didn't kill me!"
"Where is Berge?" Qin Chuan asked.
The sergeant raised his head to the back. Qin Chuan and others walked over and saw that Berge was already under control and squatting on the ground with his hands tied back.
"What happened?" asked the sergeant.
"We got separated from the army!" Qin Chuan explained simply: "I found out that this guy killed his subordinates and snatched their water. We tried to arrest him, and then you showed up!"
"I'm sorry!" said the sergeant: "We were deceived by him!"
"Don't you realize how dangerous it was just now?" Qin Chuan said: "When you treat us as enemies, this guy is likely to give you some things behind your back..."
The sergeant was stunned and then smiled bitterly: "So, I have died twice today!"
The sergeant contacted other units, and soon two side tricycles and a car came. The scouts installed Qin Chuan and others together with Berge into the rear compartment. Of course, two scouts were arranged next to Berge to watch, one left and one right.
Berg seemed to know that his doomsday had come, and sat there in a daze with a grim expression.
After a long time, he said to Qin Chuan: "Why can't you let me go? I just want to survive. I have my wife and children. I have made many contributions in three years of battle!"
"Yes!" Qin Chuan replied while drinking the water handed over by the scouts: "I know you want to survive, but have you ever thought about your subordinates, they also want to survive, and they also have wives and children, and of course they have made contributions in wars!"
"But if I don't do this, everyone may die!"
"You said, 'may'!" Qin Chuan replied: "That's just 'may'. In fact, if you use this half pot of water to support for a few more hours, you and your subordinates... will be saved now, everyone!"
"But I don't know..."
"Private!" Werner was a little impatient when he heard it. He said to the scout beside Berger: "Can you block his mouth? I don't want to hear these meaningless words..."
The scout quickly took out a towel from his backpack and stuffed it hard into Berg's mouth.
Unable to speak, Berg could only stare at the other people in the carriage hatefully, and from time to time, he seemed to be thinking about whether there was a chance to escape, but he quickly gave up this idea... He had no chance of success at all, and even if he escaped, he would still be dead in this desert.
The convoy quickly found the troops. When Qin Chuan and others got off the car, the baker and others were surprised to meet him: "Look, who is back? We thought we would never see you again!"
Bushra bowed slightly to Qin Chuan and others, and said, "Bless by Allah, I will be saved when you come back alive!"
Then the baker saw Berg, who was brought down with his hands and his mouth, and asked in confusion: "What's wrong? What happened?"
Qin Chuan did not answer, and Werner and others didn't know what to say. After all, Berg was a row of people, which was not a glorious thing for the troops.
However, even if Qin Chuan and others didn't say it, the officers and soldiers could guess what... What can happen in the desert is basically related to "water" and "survival".
Bazel walked aside with the scout sergeant and whispered, looking at this side from time to time, and then Bazel's expression became very ugly.
Before the scouts finished speaking, Bazel walked to Berg a few steps and punched him hard to the ground, then kicked him out, cursing: "You bastard, you are a shame to the empire and a scum to the army!"
No one stopped Bazer, because everyone knew...Berg was helpless.
After a while, Bazel was tired of fighting, so he went to the communication car to contact his superiors... Bazel could not make any decisions about such things, so he had to report to his superiors and get orders.
But everyone knows what the command will be.
Sure enough, the order came down soon, and Bazer turned to Kuhn and said, "Execution shall be carried out by a row!"
"No!" Berg's towel fell off at some point. He cried and said, "Captain, don't do this! I have made meritorious service, and I will make meritorious service in the future...Believe me..."
Bazel walked up to Berg, grabbed Berg's collar and pulled it up, saying, "Berg, die like a man, do you understand?"
So Berg had no sound, and he realized that it would be useless if he continued to shout.
Bazel pushed Berg in front of Kuhn and said, "Execute now!"
"Is it right here? Captain!" Kuhn asked.
"Yes, it's here!" said Bazel: "In the obvious place, let the whole army see it!"
"Yes, sir!" Kuhn turned around and ordered Qin Chuan and others: "A row of gathering!"
A row of riflemen stood in a row on the side of the road. Two soldiers were taken Berg, who was trembling with fear, to the front of the queue. It was thirty meters away... At this distance, K98K was almost impossible to shoot, not to mention that there were fifteen rifles in total.
Qin Chuan was also a member of the queue. When he saw Berge's helpless eyes, he couldn't help but regret it. Is it really necessary for him to do this? Berge is just a person who wants to survive, but he pushed him into the abyss of death and cut off all his hopes.
But when Qin Chuan thought of the several German soldiers who died under Berg, he felt that this was right.
No matter what, everything is now a foregone conclusion and no one can change it.
"Rise the gun!" Kuhn ordered.
After pausing, Kuhn shouted, "Let it go!"
"Bang bang bang" A row of bullets flew out and hit Berg, blood splattered, and Berg fell to the ground like a wooden stake.
But he was not dead yet. He twitched on the ground in pain, and every time he twitched, a ball of blood would spurt out of his mouth.
Kuhn walked up, perhaps to the final conclusion, or perhaps to end Berger's pain, pulled out his pistol and pointed it at Berger's head, and then pulled the trigger.
"Bang!" The gunshot echoed in the desert wilderness, and it didn't stop for a long time.
It was finally over... Although this process was only a few minutes, Qin Chuan felt that it had been so long for a century.
This is not only because Qin Chuan killed someone at such a close distance for the first time, nor is it just because Berge is his own person, but more importantly, Berge's death is because of himself.
