Chapter 745: Flicking Xuanzang

Master Xuanzang widened his eyes: "I have never heard of Mahayana Buddhism. May I ask the donor, what is the 'Mahayana Buddhism'?"

It's easy to have never heard of it.

Li Mu cleared his throat and his face became unfathomable. Seeing him like this, Master Xuanzang hurriedly bowed again and said, "I beg the donor to solve his doubts!"

"It's not impossible to solve the problem, but you have to swear that you can't tell anyone what I say to you today."

Master Xuanzang said without hesitation: "I swear that what the donor said today will never be told to anyone. If you violate this vow, you will fall into the Avici Hell after death and will never be reborn."

This kind of swearing is already very important for a Buddhist. Seeing that the temperature was almost done, Li Mu continued to speak: "I wonder if the master has heard of some things about me. There are rumors in the market that I am a reincarnated immortal and I know it by birth-"

Master Xuanzang hurriedly said, "Although I have not been here for a long time, I have heard a lot about the donor. The reincarnation of the exiled immortal is a Taoist saying. In Buddhism, we call it "wisdom root".

"Whatever you say, there is no need to go into it." Li Mu waved his hand and said, "But I am indeed a little magical." Li Mu paused for a moment, as if he was still hesitating whether to say it. Finally, he gritted his teeth and said, "Forget it, since I have said it, just say it. To be honest, I have dreamed of Guanyin."

"Who?" Master Xuanzang was stunned and asked repeatedly: "Is the donor talking about Guanyin Bodhisattva?"

"That's right." Li Mu nodded, very serious. He wanted to fool more, but he didn't expect that Xuanzang had no doubt at all and said repeatedly: "It turns out that he was inspired by the Bodhisattva. No wonder the donor's Buddha nature is so profound!"

Li Mu was speechless. Who said that Master Xuanzang was honest? Isn’t he also scheming? I have Buddha nature anywhere and is profound. It’s really far-fetched. However, Li Mu didn’t care, and it didn’t doubt it, which saved a lot of lip and tongue.

"In my dream, I was entrusted by His Majesty to hold a water and land conference in Ci'en Temple to save the soldiers who died in battle. As I was about to do it, a monk Laitou suddenly came. Later I realized that this monk Laitou was transformed by a Bodhisattva, but I didn't know it at that time."

"The monk was holding two treasures in his hand, one was a cassock with seven treasures on it, shining brightly, and the other was a Zen staff decorated with nine rings, dazzling. The two treasures looked extraordinary. I saw them from afar, and I was curious and was about to ask, but someone was one step ahead of me."

Xuanzang asked curiously: "Who is it?"

"It is Abbot Yongxin of Ci'en Temple."

Xuanzang said nothing, Li Mu continued, "Abbot Yongxin is rich and powerful. How could he not be moved when he saw the Qibao cassock and the Nine-ring tin staff? When he saw it, he went over and asked the monk Laitou, how much the two treasures were worth."

Xuanzang said curiously: "What does the Bodhisattva say?"

"The monk Laitou said that the robes are worth five thousand taels of silver, and the tin staff is worth two thousand taels of silver."

Xuanzang took a breath. He was the scholar-type monk among monks who were studying. Although he didn't eat this meal like monk You Fang, he didn't have a meal, but he had never seen a lot of money. Five thousand taels of silver was a number he could not imagine.

"Abbot Yongxin is not a fool. Seeing this monk say this, he just thought he was a lion and spoke very much. He immediately became angry and cursed: This leper monk is a madman, a fool! These two crude items can be sold for 7,000 taels of silver? But unless you wear it, you will become a Buddha and become an ancestor, which is not worth so much!"

When he heard that Abbot Yongxin actually insulted the Bodhisattva, Xuanzang kept saying the Buddha's name, showing a look of shame on his face, and said, "Abbot Yongxin does not obey the Bodhisattva, it is a sin, a sin."

Li Mu continued: "Of course, the Bodhisattva will not care about him, ignore him, and continue to move forward, and then he will come to the front of this marquis."

"Did the donor buy these two treasures?"

"Not." Li Mu explained: "Although seven thousand taels of silver is not a big deal, it is not a big deal to me. I can naturally afford the money, but I am not a monk, so what is the use of asking for a cassock and a tin staff? I was just curious. I also asked the price of the cassock and a tin staff, and Monk Laitou also said as before. So I asked my curiosity and asked him what the special thing about these two things is worth the price."

"Can the Bodhisattva say it?"

Li Mu nodded and said, "I said it. The original words are like this: The cassock is good, but it is bad; there is something to ask for money, and there is something to ask for money."

"I naturally asked him what is good and what is bad? The Bodhisattva explained: If you wear my cassock, you will not go to hell, you will not suffer from evil difficulties, and you will not encounter tigers and wolves' holes. If you are greedy for lust and happy, a monk who does not fast or precepts, or an ordinary person who destroys the scriptures and slanders of the Buddha, you will not get these benefits even if you get my cassock, and you will not get these benefits."

"I asked him again, what is asking for money, and how can he not pay for money. The Bodhisattva explained again: If he does not follow the Dharma, he does not respect the Three Jewels, and forcibly buy a cassock and a tin staff, he must sell it for 7,000 taels. This is to ask for money; if he respects the Three Jewels, rejoices when he sees goodness, and takes refuge in my Buddha, and can afford it, he will give it to him and give it away for free and make a good relationship, which is to be desirable."

Xuanzang was already fascinated by the ears and murmured: "So that's the case."

Li Mu also said it better and continued: "At that time, I thought, although I did not believe in Buddhism, His Majesty was doing rituals for the heroic spirit who died in battle. He happened to encounter this strange monk and these two treasures, so I told the monk that if I wanted to sell these two treasures, I could introduce him to a customer, but I was afraid that he would not dare to see him."

"The monk said he dared, so I took him into the palace and saw His Majesty. But after seeing His Majesty, he did not mention the cassock or the Zen Staff, but talked about the Water and Land Conference."

Xuanzang had a premonition and was about to talk about the key points, and asked anxiously: "Has the Bodhisattva mentioned the Mahayana Buddhism?"

Li Mu glared at him with some displeasure and said, "What's the hurry? I haven't arrived yet."

Xuanzang immediately stopped, and Li Mu continued to say, "The Bodhisattva asked Your Majesty what sutras were all about in the Water and Land Conference. Your Majesty said one by one, but the Bodhisattva said that these are Hinayana Buddhism. Hinayana teachings cannot be saved by the dead, but can only be mixed with the common people. If you want to save the dead souls, you must obtain Mahayana Buddhism."

Xuanzang couldn't help it anymore and asked, "What is the magical part of Mahayana Buddhism?"

"The Bodhisattva Path: Those who can transcend the dead ascend to heaven, can overcome difficult people and escape suffering, can cultivate the infinite life body, and can do without coming or going."

Xuanzang murmured: "If this is true, it is the supreme wonderful method."

"The Bodhisattva also explained that Hinayana Buddhism focuses on individuals, and if you go astray, it becomes selfish. Mahayana Buddhism regards saving sentient beings as its karma. As long as you have the heart to look for the Buddha, you can save it. In short, Hinayana Buddhism saves oneself, and Mahayana Buddhism saves others, sacrifices oneself and becomes others. Only by doing others can you save yourself."

Xuanzang was so eager that he yearned for it and asked, "Can the Bodhisattva point out where this Mahayana Buddhism is?"

Li Mu shook his head and said, "I woke up later. Of course, I don't know what happened next."

"Then I'll ask Your Majesty!" Xuanzang was already crazy and was about to go out as he said. Li Mu quickly grabbed him and said, "Are you confused? This is my dream, not your Majesty's dream. What can you ask Your Majesty for? I said this, just to say that I can point out the shortcomings of the monks of Ci'en Temple because the Bodhisattva pointed out the shortcomings of Hinayana Buddhism, which is that it is easy to breed selfishness. Selfishness will lead to greed. So many things that violate Buddhist principles will occur, so it must be time to change."

"But if you want to change, you must have Mahayana Buddhism." Xuanzang was obviously stubborn: "Where is Mahayana Buddhism now? Why don't the donor sleep for a while, even if you ask clearly where Mahayana Buddhism is!"

Li Mu said unhappily: "You monk is unreasonable. Why don't you blame the Bodhisattva? If he said it faster, wouldn't I remember it?"

Xuanzang said excitedly: "How can the Bodhisattva blame him? What the donor's words are unreasonable!"

"Oh, you can maintain it." Li Mu snorted and said, "Monk, you have to thank me. If I were not a person with profound Buddha nature, you would not even know the four words "Mahayana Buddhism". As for where it is, why I didn't sleep for a long time, I would have to ask the Bodhisattva. Perhaps I only have so many Buddha natures and I am not aware of the place where Buddhism is hidden. Or I have no fate. After all, I am not a monk, so maybe the Bodhisattva didn't want to tell me?"

"This..." Xuanzang was stunned for a moment, sighed dejectedly, and said, "The fate of fate, the fate of fate, is indeed the case, the Buddha's fate is not enough,"

"That's it," Li Mu patted his shoulder and said, "I'm not a monk, right? Maybe the Bodhisattva just wants me to tell you this news. Otherwise, you can go back first, maybe the Bodhisattva will go to the dream tonight to find you."

Xuanzang shook his head and said, "No, Bodhisattvas, great masters and powerful people, if you want to dream of me, why should you pretend to be someone else? The Buddha's fate of me is not as good as a donor." After pausing, Xuanzang suddenly worshiped him with great gifts. Li Mu quickly helped him up and said, "Why do you have to do this by Master? You don't owe me anything, why do you do the great gift?"

"Donor, I beg the donor, if I dream of a Bodhisattva next time, I must ask clearly where the Mahayana Buddhism is hidden. Even in the eighteenth level of hell, I will invite Mahayana Buddhism back to change the desolate energy of Buddhism in the Central Plains!"

"I am determined!" Li Mu praised, saying, "It's time to be a big deal! The mage should not leave tonight. I will arrange the table next time and will not return without getting drunk with the mage!"

When Xuanzang heard that he was going to drink, he hurriedly said, "Donor, wine is the most important precept for monks, and it is absolutely not allowed. It is not early, and I will rush back to Ci'en Temple. I hope that if I am disturbing, I will say goodbye now."

Li Mu hypocritically said: "Wine is also brewed with grain, and there is no meat, so why can't it be done? The mage should stay."

Xuanzang refused repeatedly, but Li Mu had to send him away. Yikyu looked at him eagerly and wanted to ask what Li Mu and Xuanzang said. He turned around three times, but Li Mu ignored him and walked away in disappointment.

After sending these two monks, Li Mu was about to rest for a while when someone from the Ministry of Rites came and brought a tailor. After asking, he realized that he was going to make clothes for him. The coronation ceremony was about to be held. Of course, there must be rules for such formal occasions. Li Mu has now been named Marquis of Che and has become the son of King Xi. His identity has been different, and his clothes and clothing naturally have to change.

If it is common sense, Li Mu should wear purple robe no matter whether he is a third-rank official. At the same time, he is under the clan, and he can wear golden threads on the purple robe. However, after being appointed as the Marquis of Che, the situation is different. Marquis of Che was the head of the prince, and according to the etiquette, he can wear cloud patterns. In addition, Li Mu became the prince's heir and Li Shimin specially gave a python pattern, so the clothes were changed again and again, and they had to be tightened, otherwise it would be too late.

Li Mu didn't care much about this golden python pattern. If it weren't for the ritual system, he would wear clothes he would go out on weekdays, and he didn't think anything was wrong. But since the court had requirements, in order to take the overall situation into consideration, he still cooperated very well in tailoring clothes.

After the tossing, the sun was drooping, and Li Mu fell on the recliner and rested, a little bored. Suddenly, he realized why he was bored. It turned out that the three wives were not at home. Not only did Zhang Tianai and Jin Chen not be there, but Bai Qiaoqiao didn't even know where he went.

Zhang Tian likes to tinker with the Jinyiwei. Jin Chen is rehearsing a show in Lichunyuan. Li Mu, who went out early and returned late, knows the reason, but where did Bai Qiaoqiao go? Where could she go with such a big belly?

"Xiaozhu!" Li Mu pulled his neck and shouted: "Xiaozhu, come here quickly!"

Xiaozhu has now become the leader of Feng Qiuhuang. She is usually in the front hall, but Li Mu called her and she still had to come over. She ran over and complained: "Marty, there are many guests in front of you who haven't left. It's so rude that you shouted like this."

"What kind of guests are not guests? I'll ask you, where's the madam?"

"Mrs. I've gone to Ci'en Temple." Xiaozhu said in a daze: "Don't the marquis know? I thought the wife was telling you, and the lady said she was going to pray for blessings."

"Ah?" Li Mu was stunned. As soon as Ci'en Temple suffered a disaster, Bai Qiaoqiao went to Ci'en Temple. If anyone recognized her identity—

Many terrible imaginations suddenly appeared in Li Mu's head. He thought to himself that he was terrible, jumped up from the recliner, and shouted: "Come here!"

The Jinyiwei guard guarding at the door rushed in: "What are the instructions of the marquis!"

"Go and call everyone up and go with me-" Before he finished speaking, Li Mu saw Bai Qiaoqiao coming in from the door, carrying a small basket. Li Mu quickly ran over in three steps and took the basket from her: "What's going on? Why do you dare to carry things by yourself? Why did you come so late? It's hard for you to make a fortune in Ci'en Temple?"

"No, on the way back, I went to the pharmacy shop and followed Dr. Sun's prescription and grabbed some medicine for pregnancy relief." Bai Qiaoqiao pointed to Xiaolanzi and said, "That's why I came back a little late. Who knew that my husband would come back so early today."

"I thought the bald donkeys in Ci'en Temple--"

"Husband, don't talk like this," Bai Qiaoqiao said angrily: "I'm going to pray for blessings. You, a father, have you accumulated some moral integrity?"

Bai Qiaoqiao was fine, and Li Mu's anger disappeared. He waved his hand and drove away Jinyiwei and Xiaozhu. He pulled Bai Qiaoqiao to sit down by the bed and said, "You have a good rest. I'll go decoct the medicine for you. Where do you want to go in the future? Tell me in advance that I can be at ease with you."
