Chapter 723 Holding a sword and becoming a Buddha

"Good words!" Li Mu said, "I feel refreshed and happy when I hear it. I can't help but want to applaud you, the great monk. The reason makes sense, but I have something unknown. Master Abbot, what is the high interest charged in the attitude of being responsible for believers? "

"Of course, it is used to repair temples, the monks' meals, etc."

"Another question, does the monk have no hands?"

Abbot Yongxin didn't understand Li Mu's intentions, so he looked at him cautiously and said strangely: "What does the Marquis mean? Can't we even eat rice when we run a temple?"

"Of course, it's not possible."

Abbot Yongxin was a little angry. The people watching seemed very unreasonable. There should be a limit to arrogance and domineeringness. You don’t even have food to eat. What is this? Although the people dare not stand up and say it, they couldn’t help but whisper. When Abbot Yongxin saw it, he felt more confident and had a lot of confidence: "Mr. Marquis, I don’t understand what you said. Working and eating is natural. Is it a natural thing to be a monk who is guilty of being a monk and not even allowed to eat?"

"No, you are quibbling." Li Mu curled his lips and smiled slightly: "It is indeed natural to work and eat. But it depends on who eats, scholars, farmers, traders, peddlers, or their labor or their efforts to get rewards and exchange food for food. This is natural. But you monks eat the offerings of believers. Your hands are put into other people's pockets. What is the difference between these actions and theft? It is just a bit more impressive. Please tell me, is it natural to steal and cheat?"

Abbot Yongxin blushed and said, "How can believers worship a scammer be considered a cheat? They are offering!"

"Oh?" Li Mu looked curious and said, "Master, please help me to solve my doubts, who are they offering to?"

"I will offer to the Buddha!"

"Then why do you need to offer sacrifices to the Buddha?"

"This..." Abbot Yongxin often wanders among the treasures and brocades, and is already unfamiliar with Buddhism. Of course, it is more than enough to fool ordinary people. However, facing Li Mu's criticism, he was worried that he would say something wrong and would become the handle for the other party. He hesitated for a moment and did not answer immediately. He wanted to find someone to answer for him. He looked back and saw that the masters who had just attained the Taoist temple followed and felt great peace. His own Buddhism was not good, so some of them were able to do it? These masters, who study Buddhism every day and pick out any one of them, were not something that Li Mu could ask.

Abbot Yongxin's eyes glanced at the crowd and suddenly settled on a young monk. He said to Li Mu: "Mr. Marquis, I have been studying Buddhism for many years. It is not fair for you to talk about Buddhism with me. Just so happened that a Master Xuanzang came to the Taoist temple. He was only in the year. Since the Buddha was interested, it was better for the Marquis to talk to him. How about I listen to him?"

Li Mu understood Abbot Yongxin's words. What he meant was that I, the abbot of Ci'en Temple, would have lost his identity when talking about Buddhism with you. I found a young man to talk to you. If you win, it just shows your shallowness and ignorance. If you lose, there is a way out. Just say that this young monk has not studied Buddhism deeply, and then find an older man to continue talking.

You can attack when you advance, you can defend when you retreat, and you can play well.

How could Li Mu give him such an opportunity? It was just that the name of Master Xuanzang made him feel slightly moved. Could this Xuanzang be the one he knew? If so, it would be a real trouble. But then he thought about it, what could it do? Xuanzang who had not obtained the scriptures may not be very powerful. After all, it was just a sophistry. As the former best debater of Xidaogou Second Primary School, how could he be afraid just because the opponent's debater was changed to a monk?

Li Mu snorted coldly, laughed three times, and said, "Master Abbot, don't have to worry. Sit and discuss the good things. I, Li Mu, are very talented and others have been studying for the rest of my life. Isn't it better to just glance at me? Come on, come on, if you go together, if I can't answer the words, I will lose. Not only will I not make things difficult for you Ci'en Temple, but I will also offer you 100,000 ounces of incense and oil. How about it?!"

Here comes! The people watching heard the familiar "Three Louds of Laughs" and their eyes widened a little. Everyone knew Li Mu's habits, everyone knew about it. After three Louds of Laughs, the Marquis was about to draw his sword!

Yongxin Abbot Yongxin lived in Chang'an for a long time, so he naturally knew this. But he was not afraid. When the two sides fought, whoever drew the path would have the greatest advantage. Compared with Buddhism, can he lose? What's more, Master Xuanzang was not an ordinary person. He studied Buddhism since childhood and was a person with great wisdom. At a young age, he had a deep understanding of the main Buddhist schools such as "Mahayana and Hinayana Sutras", "North and South Earth Theory", and "Sutra Theory". Even the old monk in his seventies and eighties was not as good as him.

Li Mu is just a layman, how can he be an opponent?

"Amitabha, Master Xuanzang, I'm in trouble." Abbot Yongxin chanted the Buddha's name, and Master Xuanzang returned the greeting. Without saying a word, he went out and stood in front of Li Mu.

Li Mu looked at Master Xuanzang. He was a young monk who was only thirty years old in his face. He had a beautiful face and a natural demeanor. He was a handsome guy who was a man of his later generations. Even if he had no hair, it would not affect his charm. Compared with Abbot Yongxin's pig head, he was indeed more like a person who studied Buddhism.

"donor,"

The title also satisfies Li Mu, but he still asked: "Why did the mage call me the donor? Why did the Abbot Yongxin call me? I am the Marquis of the Army of the Tang Dynasty!"

Xuanzang said: "In Xuanzang's eyes, it is the same. The marquis is the donor, Your Majesty is also the donor, and the peddler is also the donor. There is no distinction between high and low in the eyes of the Buddha, and all living beings are equal."

A playful smile appeared on the corner of Li Mu's mouth, and he tried it out in one sentence. The depth of Master Xuanzang in front of him was as follows. Li Mu didn't know whether his Buddhism was profound, but he already knew it. He was like a nerd, who might be very good at academically, but he had no talent for sophistry. He thought it was a discussion, but he didn't know that Li Mu didn't want to talk to him about Buddhism at all.

With that alone, he had already lost.

Li Mu was calm and unhurried: "Then I would bother Master Lao to solve the problem. The Buddha clay body in the temple cannot be eaten or drunk, so why do I still need to offer it?"

This kind of question is no more difficult than one plus one for Xuanzang. You can answer casually: "Providing is not because the Buddha needs to eat and drink, but a way for believers to practice, and expressing inner respect and respect to the Buddha."

Xuanzang's voice was very warm, neither fast nor slow, and he told him in a leisurely manner, which made people feel convinced: "The Dharma says: "Repay the four kinds of kindness", one of which is the kindness of the teacher. When studying Buddhism, the Buddha is the teacher and the heart is the way to go. The relationship between believers and Buddha is naturally the relationship between teachers and students. Only under the guidance of the Buddha and Buddhas can we light the lantern of our hearts and seek freedom, freedom and liberation. Therefore, we should not only respect and praise them, but also make offerings."

Li Mu smiled even more, but he did not interrupt Xuanzang's eloquence: "Practice requires cultivating three fields of blessings. One is a field of kindness. You must be grateful to those who have kindness to us in the world. The second is to respect the fields and respect those in life that are worthy of our learning, such as teachers, Buddhas, good friends, and Bodhisattvas. The third is a field of compassion. You must have a compassionate and kind heart to help those in need."

"The donor asks why he should offer, one is to express his respect for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas; two is to cultivate blessing fields and increase our blessings through offerings; three is to eliminate the greed in the heart. Offering and giving can help believers eliminate the greed and attachment in their hearts. When offering to the Buddha, you can get the best blessings, which will be of great benefit to the practice of Buddhism. Cultivating blessings in this life can lead to perfection in the next life."

The monks nodded, and such an answer was considered a standard answer at the textbook level. Some people couldn't help but remember it silently, thinking that if someone asked about it tomorrow, they would also answer this way.

"Master said it well!" Li Mu praised, and Xuanzang's face was not full of joy, but said lightly: "The donor praised it."

"That's right," Li Mu's face turned cold: "It's indeed ridiculous!"

Xuanzang was not afraid and asked, "Why don't you know what the donor think is wrong?"

"There are too many inappropriate things, let me talk about the shallowest one first." Li Mu sneered and said, "Justice said just now that the Buddha guides the practice and believers to offer to the Buddha, it sounds like respecting the master in the world. But this marquis has a question. Since he is offering to the Buddha, why are you monks who enjoy these offerings? The Buddha can spend a penny, fruits, vegetables, melons, and food? They all enter the stomachs of you monks. What kind of virtue can you do? Do you dare to say that you are a Buddha?! Are you worthy of enjoying the offerings of believers to the Buddha?!"

As the words fell, silent!

How to answer this question? There is no answer!

Saying yes, comparing to the Buddha, being arrogant and saying no is equivalent to admitting that the temple does not need to be offered. Since it does not need to be offered, it should be paid back the money, land, and taxes? What else is there to say?

Although Xuanzang had a clear and quiet heart and was not disturbed by the world, this matter was very important and he did not dare to take it. He looked back at the masters behind him, but who was the fool? Who didn't know the benefits and harms? If he lost to himself, not only would he declare damage, but they would not be able to bear this eternal crime.

Seeing that Xuanzang did not reply, Li Mu continued, "I did not study Buddhism deeply, so I read two sutras on the way. But it doesn't matter. I have an understanding. The so-called practice emphasizes the law of fate. This is undoubtedly a person with the deepest law of fate. Even if you study it for a lifetime, it is difficult to understand. Now the Marquis of Japan will tell you."

"You often say that all sentient beings are suffering, and my Buddha is compassionate. All sentient beings who believe in the Buddha are seeking to save them. But they don't know how they save them? The Buddha has never said anything, but you monks say, come, give me your money and give me your fields, and the money and the land are gone. You also say, don't you still have people, you can farm for me and give me what you gain. Ha, I want to ask, why? You said you are accumulating blessings, but I want to say, what if you don't accumulate blessings? If you say that in the next life, I don't know what will happen in the next life. I only know that in this life, I will not live happily!"

"I believe in you because I want to get help, but what has it helped? If there is really a Buddha, the Buddha will save me from the sea of suffering, but you monks have allowed sentient beings to enter the sea of suffering. I offer respect, offer incense, and seek disasters. You tell me that people in the world have many lives and are destined to be destined, and they can only cultivate blessings in this life to seek future generations! How ridiculous is this! The master said just now, sentient beings are equal? Why are there Bodhisattvas and Arhats above the Great Hall,

The Dharma protectors and monks are also divided into three or nine categories? Why did Abbot Yongxin call me "Marquis" when he saw me just now? I, the Marquis, blocked my door, and I, what if you were an ordinary citizen? I was probably sent to the yamen at this time, right? Your Majesty gave the order, and you bald donkeys would obey the order. There is a newspaper seller next door. He asked you to do rituals and don't give you money? All beings are equal, where is equal?"

"Ha! This is true. I knelt in front of the Buddha for three thousand years, but I didn't feel pity for me. Don't say that the dust covers the Buddha's eyes. It turns out that I have not invested money for incense!"

Xuanzang was sweating coldly, feeling something was wrong, but Li Mu took her away and couldn't find out where the wrong thing was. The Buddha's heart, which had been quiet, began to get confused.

Li Mu sighed and said, "I have observed Buddhism and encouraged people to be good. I have never seen any mistakes, but I have seen you bald thieves, but I have a sense of disgust. Buddhism is destroyed by you, those who are obsessed with greed! Now that I have mastered Buddhism, how can I sit back and wait for these greed people to destroy the Buddhist atmosphere? A stick of incense has burned out, and it is time to clear the door!"

"Li Mu, what are you going to do! You have no will, you..."

"No one can save you today! The sword in my hand is the will! I dare to say something more and cut you, the bald thief, first!" Li Mu waved his sword to Abbot Yongxin and shouted: "Encyclopedia Guard! Catch people, circulate the temple, and check for illegality! Anyone who disobeys, behead immediately! If anything happens, I will bear it!"

"Abide by the order!"

The Jinyiwei was like a wolf or a tiger, and he was about to rush into Ci'en Temple.

"slow!"

"Who dares to stop me?" Li Mu turned around and looked in the direction of the sound, and saw a person walking slowly across the crowd. Seeing this person, Changsun cried out and said, "Dad, why are you here?"

The person who came was Changsun Wuji. When Abbot Yongxin saw him, he breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly ran to Changsun Wuji and cried, "Uncle Guo, please make the decision for Ci'en Temple. Changsun Wuji ignored him, pushed him aside, walked to Li Mu, and whispered sideways: "Li Mu, you can't enter Ci'en Temple."

"reason."

"The queen doesn't want you to come in."

"Oh!"

Li Mu leaned close to Changsun Wuji's ear and said, "Don't say I don't believe that the queen would say such things. Even if the queen is in front of me, I will copy Ci'en Temple today! Unless Your Majesty arrives in person, dismisses my official position and takes my Shangfang Sword, no one's face will be better!"

Li Mu waved his hand and two Jinyiwei came to the front.

"Please rest on the side, Jinyiwei, do things!"
