Chapter 184 The Confrontation Begins

184 Confrontation begins

The confrontation drill between the Dragon Squadron and the F35 Squadron finally began.

Chen Fei and the others took off from Pingchuan Base, Li Zailong took off from their base, and the two sides fought in designated airspace.

The terrain below the designated airspace can be divided into two parts, part of which is full of towering mountains, high and deep valleys, which is conducive to low-altitude penetration of fighter jets and hiding fighter jets. The radar detection will be greatly weakened, and the other part is the endless sea, with endless views.

There is no doubt that the superiors fully considered it when choosing the airspace to confront each other. It not only gave the J-10 D a chance, but also needed to fully utilize the capabilities of the f35. The length and width of both airspaces are about 100 kilometers.

Chen Fei and his team's idea was to try to choose the air combat location among the continuous mountains, but there was no doubt that the f35 squadron would definitely hope that the air combat locations would be all at sea.

Soon, the six J-10Ds of the Shenlong Squadron took off and formed at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Then they all turned to the right and flew towards the target airspace.

After flying forward for about half an hour, the voice of the base commander came: "Dragon, 270 in the direction, enter the combat airspace in ten minutes, and it is finished!"

"The orientation is 270, enter the combat airspace in ten minutes, understand!" Chen Fei replied.

"It depends on you later. I wish you all the best and it's over!"

"clear!"

Chen Fei answered.

However, after flying forward for about four or five minutes, Chen Fei's feeling of anxiety gradually became stronger.

Um?

It seems something is wrong?

The sixth sense is not very good!

Chen Fei frowned.

He was calculating in his mind while controlling the fighter plane to fly forward.

The maximum speed of the f35 is more than 1,900 kilometers per hour. If they turn on after power and fly at high speed, supersonic cruise...

No!

not good!

Chen Fei suddenly felt a sudden jump in his heart!

According to the confrontation rules, this confrontation officially started at 9:00 am on the morning of the day, but the superiors only said that it would be that they would take off from their respective airports at 9:00 or arrive at the periphery of the designated airspace and prepare there. Chen Fei and the others took off from the airport at 9:00, but if Li Zailong and the others took off early and then came to the periphery of the designated airspace at 9:00, waiting!

"Damn it, I've been plotted against!"

After coming back to his senses, Chen Fei secretly called out something bad. No wonder the feeling in his heart has always been bad, no wonder the beginning of the confrontation is always insisting that they determine it!

Just say, how could those guys Li Zailong be so kind yesterday? Their national virtues are not that good. They actively and enthusiastically introduced the various data of f35 and took the initiative and enthusiastic to operate them with everyone. It seems that they are so enthusiastic and sincere. In fact, these are all acting!

Those guys have extremely strong self-esteem, so even if it is just a friendly confrontation, they will definitely win! This is in line with their nation's always arrogant and arrogant mentality!

After thinking for a few seconds, Chen Fei immediately used the radio channel: "Everyone has it, immediately launch the interference bomb and dive at high speed to enter an ultra-low altitude flight! The f35 may have reached the periphery of the designated airspace at nine o'clock, instead of taking off from the airport at nine o'clock like us, and it's over!"

Chen Fei did this to avoid the AIM-120 air-to-air missile.

The AIM-120 is the first active radar-guided outer-air air-to-air missile developed by the United States. Over the past decade, it has derived four models: A, B, C, and D. It is a weapon that air forces in many countries around the world are scrambling to purchase.

In 2003, the price was US$386,000 per coin.

In the previous out-of-visual air combat, most of them used semi-active radar-guided missiles, after launching the missile, the carrier must keep track and illuminate the target until it hits the target. During this period, the carrier must basically not make big moves, which is a great threat to the safety of the carrier and pilots, because there is a great chance of being hit by the enemy. The emergence of the AIM-120 has changed all this.

This missile uses two-stage guidance.

During launch, the target's dynamics and the missile's launch position are input into the seeker.

Once the missile approaches the target and enters self-redirecting guidance, the seeker activates the active radar to find the target.

When the members of the Shenlong Squadron were deducing tactics, they basically believed that F35 would place the combat airspace at the sea and try every means to let the Shenlong Squadron fight them at sea because that was the most beneficial to them.

But just now, Chen Fei suddenly felt a bad feeling. If F35 arrived at the designated airspace at nine o'clock, and after the superiors announced the start of the confrontation at nine o'clock, they immediately flew supersonic and flew over at the highest speed. At this time, Chen Fei and the others must have entered the effective range of the F35's medium-range air-to-air missile.

So at this time, Chen Fei immediately ordered everyone to launch jamming bombs and then fly at ultra-low altitude to avoid medium-range air-to-air missiles.

The six fighter jets immediately pressed the height of the pole and disappeared into the mountains and ridges in the blink of an eye. When the height dropped to only one hundred meters, Chen Fei breathed a sigh of relief.

He looked at the airspeed. At this time, the speed of the fighter was 500 kilometers per hour. After thinking about it, he pushed the throttle up a little and increased the speed to 800 kilometers per hour.

It can be seen from the three-dimensional map displayed on the display that the valley in front is relatively flat and straight, and can fly at high speed.

After flying forward for a while, a fork appeared in front of Chen Fei. He could continue to move forward or turn right and fly forward from another valley. Of course, the flight conditions of another valley were not as good as the one that was straight forward. However, in order to prevent the opponent from being detected, Chen Fei turned the fighter to the right and continued to press the height below the pole. At the lowest altitude, the fighter was only ten meters away from the ground. Such a low altitude, coupled with the majestic mountains on both sides, could greatly reduce the possibility of him being discovered by the radar.

Sure enough, for a while later, there was no sound of alarms in Chen Fei's cockpit.

The valley here is still very dangerous, and it is very difficult to fly in the valley. Fortunately, everyone is driving the J-10 D!

The J-10 D gave Chen Fei a 360-degree vision.

The photoelectric aiming system and distributed synthetic aperture system of J-10 D are very powerful. The former is mainly used to identify and aim battlefield targets, while the latter is more used to detect enemy threats in the airspace around the aircraft.

The photoelectric aiming system adopts a unique internal installation method and is installed under the nose radome. Since there is no protruding turret equipment, there is no corresponding pneumatic resistance, and it can be easily inspected and repaired.

The photoelectric aiming system combines the targeting laser, TV camera and front-view infrared sensor, which can effectively aim at the target and obtain stable images. All internal sensors share one opening, which can be easily calibrated and have excellent detection performance.

In addition, the fighter also embedded a distributed aperture system inside the fuselage. It is integrated in various parts of the fuselage, just like six "eyeballs" staring at the 90° airspace range, thereby providing a complete 360° passive image.

It mainly detects air threats through omnidirectional coverage, provides missile approximation alerts, and feeds video signals to the pilot's helmet display.

In this way, the pilot can see situations in any direction outside at any time through the helmet display, and expand the scope of situational awareness.

For example, a distributed aperture system can not only realize close formation flights at night, but also display the target image below the aircraft during night and smoke coverage, which helps the pilot fly the aircraft to land in poor visibility. In addition, it can also provide pilots with a virtual "reflector" that is conducive to implementing air combat maneuvers or evaluating bombing effects. There is no doubt that after using this system, fighter jets will significantly enhance combat effectiveness and survivability.

At this time, Chen Fei was flying very low, but his eyes could see the situation at any place 360 degrees around the fighter plane.
