734. The second topic

【Tomorrow's 10-110】

If you want to ask Jordanians to recommend local delicacies, everyone will definitely mention Jordanian national cuisine without hesitation: mansaf, this is an indispensable highlight at the Jordanian banquet.

The method to make mansaf is to add spices to the rice and steam it, spread it with nuts and cooked large chunks of lamb, and finally drizzle it with goat milk, which is very similar to domestic hand-pickle rice.

In ancient times, nomadic peoples paid attention to the pleasure of eating, and the dietary tradition has been continued to this day. The huge meal plate is thickly filled with rice, accompanied by a large piece of bone-bearing mutton and rich goat milk, which can visually reflect the Bedouin generosity and enthusiasm.

Mansaf seems simple, but it takes a lot of effort to cook it.

The steamed rice is golden in color, and it is made of turmeric and butter. When boiling slowly on a hot heat, you have to stir it back and forth with a spoon until small bubbles appear in the pot before you can stop. Only in this way can the rice cooked patiently have a lubricating and full texture after entering the mouth.

The most special thing is the yogurt poured on the rice. It is to add salt to goat milk, wrap it in a cloth after fermenting. Each time you make a mansaf, you need to cut a piece and cook it in the pot with the whole piece of mutton until the mutton is soft and rotten, and you can get a pot of milky white yogurt soup.

This most authentic goat milk soup has a strong smell of smell, which is difficult for ordinary people to accept, and even a small number of locals cannot bear it.

So the boss made some special improvements to it. The vanilla nuts covered up the smell of smell. The original goat milk was replaced with goat yogurt, and it didn't have to be stewed with the meat, and mixed with a little honey to make a sauce. This way it wouldn't be so greasy.

Qi Jing doesn't mind the original taste. It's rare to come to Jordan once, so he should eat more local food. However, the boss's method of improvement also has a unique flavor, and he has really put in some effort.

The one I gave was 30 dinars, which was equivalent to Rmb. Although Qi Jing gave more money to eat this meal, with the boss's arrogance, he naturally had to serve the food that matched him.

Hummus with eggplant salad is an appetizer, camel barbecue, a large bowl of fried assorted vegetables are side dishes, plus a dessert with pistachio crumbled pudding, which forms a more hearty mansaf set plus version than the original.

Regardless of the taste, at least this amount is worth the 30 dinars.

Qi Jing ate with relish and gave him a lot of it to Joseph. But the other party still didn't look like he had a taste of it. He pulled the fragrant rice and mutton into a small spoon, and obviously he had some worries.

Of course, Qi Jing knew what he was thinking, but just insisting on mentioning it himself would easily arouse his rebellious mentality, so he simply dragged it. When Joseph's patience was wiped out, he would naturally say it. This is not a good thing. Facing it alone is far from finding a companion to carry it together.

In fact, it was Qi Jing that Joseph himself found first.

At the beginning, he used Steve's academic misconduct to open the show, and then after he slowly learned something, he began to mess around with viral pneumonia.

Then the two talked about the topics on the sars and A H1n1, both of which talked about symptoms, treatment and prognosis methods. It was not until the end that after learning that Qi Jing was a pretty good virologist and had a background in the Mid-English Army as a backer, Joseph said that Jeffre Jordan had a strange patient.

After the patient suffered from lung infection and rapid respiratory failure, he died of multiple organ failures in a few days.

This is the patient zero of Mers.

Joseph works in the Jordanian biomedical laboratory with a special status and can also keenly detect foreign travelers in a small hospital, which has explained many problems. Qi Jing first tried a few sentences and decided that he knew the inside story, but Joseph was too careful and his answers were always ambiguous.

He did not feel relieved until Mers passed into neighboring countries from Jordan.

He is just a small role in the Jordanian biomedical base, and he is exposed to experiments that cannot be used. The harm of viruses in experiments is also very limited.

However, by chance, Joseph came into contact with some confidential documents, which recorded some viruses he was not aware of. Because he was from a lung disease laboratory, he soon noticed a respiratory virus, and its symptoms were described very similar to a new patient at Jeffre Hospital.

"Mers is a brand new virus. I have some strength in infectious diseases. I have never seen such rapid and destructive respiratory viruses." Qi Jing first said an objective reality and began to draw his words, "Can you be sure they are the same thing?"

"Can..." Joseph paused, and still maintained his scientific and rigorous style, "may not necessarily be able."

"Isn't this just nonsense?"

Joseph shook his head repeatedly and explained: "You said that this is a unique symptom. Respiratory tract infections quickly cause respiratory failure and spread to the whole body within half a month, causing other organs in the body to fail together. Isn't this what you said about Mers?"

"Yes, if you put aside some specific factors, this is indeed the onset of Mers. If you see it, I will also doubt it immediately."

"I'm the same!" Joseph took a sip of water to moisten his throat, and finally felt a little appetite. He stuffed a camel meat strip into his mouth and chewed it hard. "When I see these symptoms, my first reaction is it!"

Qi Jing knows this feeling very well. The more incredible he feels, the more he will think of all the past, and then the association becomes stronger. Once this association occurs, this thing will often come to mind. You can't sleep or eat, just like the researcher in front of him.

But these are just speculations, and there is no evidence. Qi Jing still needs to squeeze his shriveled toothpaste and force him to tell the truth: "Where does the new virus come from the description of the symptoms? Although the Mi Jun laboratory is level 4, the microorganisms inside are known..."

As he said, Joseph's face began to change constantly, as if the question had come to the point.

"Are they..."

Qi Jing was about to help him speak out, but Joseph glanced around again, calmed down his emotions before reaching his hand into his pocket, taking out his wallet, and taking out two photos from it.

He looked at the person in the photo, hesitated for a while, and handed one of them to Qi Jing: "Look at him, you should know him."

Although the photo was a little wrinkled and probably had several hands, the human face could still be seen clearly. Qi Jing quickly identified a familiar face and quickly pointed it out with his fingers: "Isn't he the Italian who died of Mers?"

Joseph nodded, raised his hand and moved his finger aside: "This man is his guide."

Qi Jing had already guessed this word as soon as he heard it, but he still asked, "What?"

"I've seen him in the lab, this guide," said Joseph.

Qi Jing laughed: "There are so many experimental subjects, do you remember it at first sight? The face of a big bearded Arab is not easy to recognize."

If you only saw it on the road, Joseph certainly couldn't recognize it. The inter-ethnic face-blindness did not adapt so quickly, but the timing of his seeing this man was too special, which forced him to remember: "When he first came, he was mixed in a bunch of people, and he really didn't see it. But when he left..."

Speaking of this, he hesitated again.

Seeing him like this, Qi Jing did not force himself to ask, but gave him plenty of time to consider while eating. After all the water at Joseph's hand entered his stomach, he said: "When he came, there were 32 people, but when he left, there were only 2. He was one of them. I think it would be hard not to remember them."

“The other 30 are all…”

Joseph grabbed Qi Jing's hand and interrupted him, and continued, "You should know what I mean. There were related cases of viruses in the past, and we did not develop vaccines and drugs, so there was no need to find someone to do the experiment. It would be impossible to find someone to come to the laboratory, let alone the number of people entering and leaving is so different."

"Didn't the laboratory give me an explanation?"

"It was said that because of the different reactions, people left in batches."

"You mean he survived the experiment with viral infection, and everyone else died?"

"......right."

Qi Jing has been waiting for this for a long time, and now he has heard it. But the facts are true, but he has no good idea.

It is unrealistic to stop it itself. No matter how crazy Qi Jing is, he will not fight against the entire Mi army. He can only detect the virus as soon as possible and notify the domestic and other doctors of the first time. On this basis, all he can do is to prevent the spread in advance.

This approach is effective for Mers. Even the spread speed of sars was very limited ten years ago. But if it is seven years later...

Sars and Mers are close relatives, with extremely similar structures and abilities.

In Qi Jing's view, the sars from 2002 to 2003 were just an attempt, and their infectiousness and pathogenicity were moderate. Although it caused a certain panic in China, the number of infected and deaths was still acceptable, and the transmission was timely curbed within a controllable range.

Now, ten years later, Mers seems to further improve its pathogenic ability, with a very high mortality rate, but it greatly reduces its transmission.

The virus developed later seems to have learned from the lessons of the first two, greatly enhancing its transmission ability, while retaining some of its pathogenic ability. Although the symptoms are not as fierce as Sars and Mers, for those who are not physically qualified, they are passing the gates of hell.

And the most important point is that viral pneumonia caused by the new virus is a whole piece of big white lungs, that's it

"This is good news, I've recorded it."

Qi Jing put down the spoon and was about to accept the photo. Unexpectedly, Joseph quickly changed his hands and changed the second photo in his hand: "You can take a look at this before you make a conclusion."

Strictly speaking, the photo is not a person, but a corpse. Qi Jing can't tell who it is just lying down from his face from his back on the street. However, it doesn't mean he can't guess. He leaned against the familiar street scene on the side and contacted the previous photo. Qi Jing quickly thought of the answer: "Is this person the guide?"

"Yes," said Joseph. "Just as you discovered Mers and started contacting the local health department, he died in Amman. The man jumped from the twelfth floor and the forensic doctor detected some hallucinogens from him, and the police determined that he committed suicide."

"It seems that he was 'been' committed suicide again."
