Some things are destined, and you can't get them. Although Xueying's hometown has been developed, it is still a bit remote. Some outdated systems are ultimately out of touch with the world.

Xueying had just arrived at school a month ago and actually sent a message from the village. It was a letter written by Qu Xingmu, saying that a flood suddenly occurred at home, communication was interrupted, and electrical appliances were not available. The biggest bad news was: Grandpa Fifth passed away.

Grandpa Wu is one of the few old people in the world in the village. In fact, no one loves the village as much as he does, and no one follows the ancestral system as much as he does. When he was young, he participated in the Anti-Japanese War, and later when he came back, he became very capable.

During the reform and opening up, he still started the response atmosphere in the village. He often said that he hoped that everything would get better and better, and that the curse in the genealogy would be destroyed with the new era.

He has always taken good care of Xueying. Qu Xingmu said in the letter that it was raining heavily in the village these days and the river water has risen a lot, so Xueying's parents are all very good.

Xueying cried in a mess with the letter and was a little dazed. She didn't want to go back, but in those days, she always couldn't sleep well at night, and always thought of the good things her fifth grandfather was treating her.

Finally, she had dark circles and couldn't concentrate in class, so she asked the counselor for leave and went home to attend the funeral. The car only went to the township, and the only road to the village was pulled up by a long cordon. The police said: "We can't walk ahead anymore. We will deal with the very serious flood."

Qu Xingmu only said in his letter that the rain was a bit heavy and the communication was interrupted.

The township chief was also on the scene to help.

The township chief recognized Xueying, so he kindly invited Xueying to visit her home and took a break for a while. The township chief sighed and said, "This disaster is coming, and Mr. Qu is still inside. I don't know how to explain it to his father."

Xueying was thinking about her own thoughts in a restless state. Seeing that she was listless, the village chief said, "Don't worry too much. The police have been evacuating the flood these days, and the rain has become much lighter. You can wait for news at my house with peace of mind."

Xueying responded for the time being and comforted the township chief: "Uncle, don't worry too much. The ancestral temple in our village is on the mountain, so there should be no trouble."

The township chief also said: "Well, because this is downstream, no bad news has been heard."

Although she said this, Xueying became more and more anxious as she waited. That day, Xueying suddenly thought of the letter and wanted to take it out for the village chief to show it, but no matter how she looked for it, she couldn't find it.

There was a middle school in the township, and many children in the village were studying there, but they had agreed to take leave on the day of the flood and go home to attend the funeral.

Xueying finally couldn't wait anymore and wanted to sneak into the village. She approached the cordon in the dark, but before she could walk in, she was caught. Behind her was the village chief's wife. The village chief's wife shouted: "Xueying, Xueying? What are you going to do?"

Xueying looked back embarrassedly and said awkwardly: "Auntie, I'll come and see if the water is a little smaller. My parents are all in the village."

The wife of the village head shook her head helplessly and sighed: "I know you are a good child, but the storm is really heavy. Wait for two more days. When Chairman Qu's people arrive, you will go in with them, okay?"

Xueying had to retreat: "Yeah, thank you aunt."

Xueying and the wife of the village chief returned to the village chief’s house and continued to wait.
