25. Script
Zhang Tan was very skilled in writing scripts. Before traveling through time, he wrote dozens of scripts of all sizes, including extraordinary and famous ones.
The adaptation of the comic "Lanner" is not difficult for him and is relatively easy. Instead, it takes more time to read the comics.
When Luo Ming helped him register, the project team gave him 5 days, but two days later, he suddenly received a notice saying that the time should be one day ahead of schedule. In other words, Zhang Tan still had two days left, and his script was just one-third.
"Is there time? I'm fine these days. You can concentrate on writing scripts. It's okay if you don't come to the company, just arrange it yourself."
After Luo Ming received the news, he immediately asked Zhang Tan about his progress. When he learned that he didn't have enough time, he said very considerately that he would not arrange other things in the past few days, so that he would concentrate on the script, and even ask him questions about writing, sooner or later.
Zhang Tan thanked repeatedly.
Luo Ming said, "It's my fault. When I told you the news, the project had been launched for several days and others were already writing, which led to your start later than others."
Zhang Tan quickly said, "How can you blame me for this? I can't even thank you."
In order to catch up with the script, Zhang Tan concentrated his energy and turned down Jiang Rong's dinner day and night, and also turned down Xiaobai's "football invitational tournament". Finally, two days later, he drove out the script.
He breathed a sigh of relief. The next day he went to work, printed out the script and went out to hand it over to the project team of "Lanner". Luo Ming happened to come back and saw him holding a stack of A4 paper bound into a book. He knew it was a script without asking. He calculated with his fingers that today is the day he submitted the script, and he was thinking about it.
"Have you written it?" Luo Ming asked.
Zhang Tan handed him the script and said, "I wrote it last night. Teacher Luo, if you have time, please help me check it."
"You have strong abilities and you can write adapted scripts without any problem. But after all, it's your first time doing your own homework. For you, this project is very important, so I'll take a look first."
Luo Ming put the bag on the table, sat down, and hurriedly opened the script. He usually used to making tea pots and watching the news online... These habits were all exempted today.
While looking, he sighed at Zhang without raising his head and said, "You should have shown it to me last night. You have more time, so I can check it out for you."
Zhang sighed: "I didn't finish writing it until after 10 o'clock last night, and I'll disturb you to sleep."
"What are you disturbing? I'm still teaching my daughter to do homework at around 10 o'clock. It's much easier to read the script than to do homework."
He then asked, "I remember it was submitted before 10 am this morning, right? It's eight-thirty now, and there is still an hour and a half, so don't worry, wait until I read it again. I've spent so much time before, so don't worry about this one and a half hours."
Seeing that he was involved in reading the script, Zhang Tan took the initiative to make a cup of Lushan Clouds for him and gently put it to his hand. Luo Ming didn't raise his head, and tacitly picked up the teacup and sipped a few times.
He read it very quickly, for about half an hour, breathed a deep breath, put down the script, rubbed his sore and swollen eyes, and said, "It's very well written, a few small questions, here, here, here, and here."
Zhang Tan immediately sat in front of the computer and revised it on the spot. After working hard for half an hour, the script was revised. After checking it, the two of them confirmed that there was no problem and printed a copy again.
Zhang Tan breathed a sigh of relief, looked at the clock on the wall, at half past nine, and said, "There is half an hour left, so I'll take it over and hand it over first."
"Wait." Luo Ming stopped him, "Give me the script, I'll hand it over. We don't leave the relationship, but we can't suffer losses in front of those who leave the relationship."
He picked up the teacup and took a few sips, picked up the script, hurried out, came to the tenth floor, and knocked on the office of the director of the project "Lanner".
"Oh, is Teacher Luo here to get involved?" The other party saw him coming, his eyes fell on the script in his hand and said with a smile.
Luo Ming sat on the chair in front of his desk, pushed the script to the other party, and said, "I am old and can't take care of two projects. Don't look at the script of "The Under the Mountain of Tianyu" now, there are many things to be busy with. Didn't I tell you the last time that Zhang Tan? This is what he wrote."
"Oh?" The other party picked up the script, glanced at the cover, and flipped it casually, "Isn't it enough to hand the script over to the review team? Is it necessary to give it to me directly?"
Luo Ming smiled and said, "Don't pretend to be confused because there are so many people who contribute. Once Zhang Tan's script is handed over, I don't know whether there is any following. I gave you the script, and I didn't want you to go through the back door. I just hope you know that there is Zhang Tan and such a script. You can take a little time to read it, or you hand it over to your review team so that they will pay more attention. I have read the script. Objectively speaking, it's really good. Even if I write it, it won't be better than this."
"Is it exaggerating? Teacher Luo, you are our golden pen, and you can compare with you young people. Is that okay?"
Luo Ming smiled and said nothing. He had already achieved his goal by handing the script to the director.
"Don't bother Director Li anymore, I'll leave first."
After Luo Ming left, Director Li opened Zhang Tan’s script again and read it. I don’t know how long it took, so he called someone to take the script and asked, “How many scripts have you received?”
The staff replied: "13, oh, add this one, it's 14."
"so much?"
"In fact, there are 21 people who signed up. The remaining few are not enough time and I can't win, so I can't hand it over."
Director Li was a little surprised. No wonder Luo Ming had to send the script himself. There were so many screenwriters involved in a comic adaptation project, and he felt a little heavy. These 14 scripts were not just scripts, but the dreams of 14 young people. He did not directly sigh because Luo Ming sent the script, but asked the staff to select the script internally, leave 5 copies, and then handed them over to the script evaluation team, asking them to help check it.
Luo Ming handed over the script, returned to the office, and told Zhang Tan to arrange his time freely today. It’s okay to stay in the office, or go home or something. He has been too busy these days, so relax and combine work and rest.
After Zhang Tan thanked him, he still stayed in the office. It was almost noon, Jiang Rong called and mysteriously asked him to invite him to dinner, as if he had found a treasure.
"Did you write a script called "Landlighter"?"
"Huh? How do you know?"
I immediately thought, "The script has been handed over to the evaluation team for review?"
"Bingo! You said it was fate. Your script was just given to me, haha."
Zhang Tan immediately said, "If this happens, I can't treat you to a meal."
"What does it mean?!! So stingy?" Jiang Rong's tone was a little unkind.
"Don't be angry, it's not just being stingy, but worrying that others say I'm bribing you, are you right?"
