Chapter 1 Xuanzang's first disciple

After Li Shimin decided to set out north, Li Zhi looked sad, tears in his eyes, and sad emotions were filled with his face.

Li Yuanai even felt that Li Shimin never returned when he looked at Li Zhi with a rich relationship.

Li Shimin was very accustomed to this trick and kept comforting himself, his most caring son.

Li Zhi threw himself into Li Shimin's arms and choked and said, "The child has never separated from his father and is asking his father to spread the news together. The child wrote down his daily life and trivial matters in the court in the letter, and the father also wrote down the border situation and health, and passed it on to the child so that he could teach the child to rest assured."

Li Shimin did not refuse, and agreed and said, "The father must write letters every night, and he will send them to the Chicu."

Li Yuanai followed Li Shimin and Li Zhi to Jicheng, the logistics base camp for the conquest of Goguryeo.

According to geographical location, in the future, Beijing was the gateway to the northeast of the Tang Dynasty. Yang Guang, the former Emperor Yang of the former dynasty, built the Linshuo Palace in Zhuo County as a palace. After seven years of Daye, he used military troops to Goguryeo three times, using Jicheng as a base to gather troops, military weapons, and grain storage.

When he arrived outside Jicheng City, Li Shimin looked at Li Yuanai and said, "You can make a contribution to this, Sixteenth, you will make a great contribution."

Before this, Li Shimin originally planned to set his base camp in Dingzhou, Hebei.

It is because of the instability of the Grand Canal that there are certain risks in food supply.

However, in the second year of Li Yuanai's management of the canal, after on-site tests, he successfully connected the north and south canals built by Yang Guang. With Bianzhou as the center, it connected the old grain transport path of Cao Cao's conquest of Wuhuan, connected to the northern section of Yongji Canal, and went directly to Jicheng, Zhujun.

As soon as the canal was opened, Li Shimin immediately changed his base camp and moved to Jicheng, greatly reducing the pressure on transporting grain.

Li Yuanai patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, Your Majesty, I dare not say anything else. The canal will be unblocked within two years."

Li Shimin said confidently: "It's enough. Why do you need two years to deal with a mere Goguryeo? When I pacify Goguryeo, you can re-plan and do a good job in the aftermath. I am concerned about the future, not the present one or two years."

Li Yuanai nodded and understood that the canal dredging was successfully completed with the wonderful use of cement. The Luo River was also brought into Bian by God, and he was able to carry out a short-term project. The aftermath was not cured by Cao Cao's grain transport path. The time was too tight, so it was not easy to dig and keep the water flow smooth.

This is also the reason why Li Yuanai said about two years. Otherwise, such a project would only last for two years. What is the difference between being exhausted and being hurt by money?

But as long as you spend time building embankments in places where land is prone to loss and collapse, there will be no problem in using them for a hundred years.

After entering the city, Li Shimin immediately arranged a small meeting.

It is said that it is a meeting, but it is actually about arrangements after the war.

Those who participated were all the regent ministers formed by Li Shimin, either the prime minister or the prime minister’s choice.

Li Yuanai was also among them unexpectedly.

"This time I conquer Goguryeo, the prince's ruling and Jicheng are responsible for all military and national affairs. Fang Xuanling stayed in Chang'an and led the six departments to confidentiality."

"The prince is young, I will lead troops to expedition. Gao Shilian, Liu Wei, Ma Zhou, you assist the prince. The safety of the country is entrusted to you..."

"Changsun Wuji, Cen Wenben is in communication with me, responsible for planning military affairs..."

"Sixteen, I ordered you to be the commissar of Hebei provinces, and you are responsible for the logistics of the important things. This conquest is the most important thing, and you must ensure that the canal is unobstructed and the grain channels are unobstructed."

Li Yuanai originally thought that he had nothing to do, so she watched Li Shimin give orders, but she didn't expect to call him a name and was stunned. She called him a name with these big shots, and suddenly felt a sense of existence and said, "My brother, please obey the order."

************

Chang'an Hongfu Temple.

After Xuanzang left Luoyang, he returned to Chang'an.

After Li Yuanai and Li Zhi's repeated coercion, this famous monk who had attained enlightenment had already understood the choices.

On the one hand, he cooperated with the imperial court to establish a translation institute, and on the other hand, he organized a translation site at Hongfu Temple to prepare for translation of scriptures.

Regardless of the process, it is obvious to all that Xuanzang was highly valued by Li Shimin.

Originally, Xuanzang built momentum for Buddhist believers and promoted him to be the one who carried the Buddhist tripod. Now he is valued by the court and is in the limelight.

All famous monks gathered in Chang'an, and all kinds of Buddhist geniuses came to visit. All believers who were proficient in Sanskrit began to gather in Chang'an.

Yuchi Hongdao, the descendant of Yuchi Jingde, and Master Yuance of Silla, all appeared beside Xuanzang.

"master!"

Yuchi Hongdao saluted Xuanzang respectfully.

Xuanzang was harsh in choosing disciples. Although countless Buddhist heroes gathered around him, Yuchi Hongdao was the first disciple he accepted after returning to his country.

Looking at the disciple in front of him, Xuanzang was also in a happy mood and said, "You will enter our door immediately after the door. You should abide by our Dharma, abandon the past, and give the Dharma name Kuiji."

Kuiji respectfully worshiped and said, "Abide by the law!"

Xuanzang returned to his residence, and a monk with beautiful eyes stepped forward to serve, saying with some envy: "Congratulations to the Holy Monk, congratulations to the Holy Monk, and take over the first disciple."

The young monk named Zhilu is the most famous rising star in Hongfu Temple, and is proficient in various Buddhist scriptures.

Xuanzang moved into Hongfu Temple, and Zhilu Mao recommended himself to serve the people himself, and he was very willing to be a disciple. However, he did not want Yuchi Hongdao to take the lead, and he felt sad.

Xuanzang was absent-minded and replied casually: "Kuji is not my first disciple."

Zhilu asked in surprise: "It turns out that the holy monk also has disciples in India?"

Xuanzang shook his head and said, "I am in India and I am not able to seek Buddha, so how can I have time to accept disciples?" He paused and said, "The first disciple is Shi Pantuo..."

Because he was forced to write "The Record of the Western Regions of the Great Tang Dynasty", Xuanzang remembered the memories that had been sealed for a long time.

"Shi Pantuo?" Zhilu thought for a while and said, "I have never heard of it, I don't know where to become a monk?"

Xuanzang said: "He should not be considered a monk. If you don't mention him, go back. You and I are born equal and do not need to serve here."

Zhilu was shocked and hurriedly knelt on the ground and said, "The Holy Monk forgives his sins."

Xuanzang said blankly: "Get up quickly, why are you guilty?"

Zhilu cried and said, "I was ordered to serve the holy monk. The holy monk refused, so I must be disgusted. The abbot learned that he would blame him and beg the holy monk to beg him to be kind."

Xuanzang looked at all this in front of him, thought about his experience after returning to China, smiled bitterly and sighed: "Get up, there is a manuscript I wrote there, go and organize it."

Zhilu burst into tears and laughed, kowtowed repeatedly, and ran to sort out the manuscript in a hurry.

Xuanzang walked to the desk and continued to write a memoir of "The Record of the Western Regions of the Great Tang Dynasty"

Zhilu sorted it out very seriously, and suddenly found that the manuscript had the words Shi Pantuo on it, and couldn't help but read it.

"Shi Pantuo, the Hu monk from the Western Regions, looks like a monkey..."

Zhilu became more and more frightened as he looked at it. He couldn't help but exclaim: Does Shi Pantuo actually want to kill the holy monk?
