Chapter three hundred and eighty seventh, little boy(2/2)

Why did Colonel Majek sell heavy equipment such as the director and the little boy to Xu Jie? No one at the base objected. It was because everyone had not received salary for a long time.

In order to support their wives and children, they had to work with Colonel Majek to sell things to Xu Jie.

The Malyshev Transport Machinery-Building Plant in Kharkiv is one of the most important tank factories of Malyshev.

Like the Black Sea Shipyard, the Malyshev Shipyard has a long history, dating back to 1895.

The establishment of the factory was possible. At that time, a factory producing steam locomotives and accessories, the Kharkiv Steam Locomotive Manufacturing Plant, was established near the Kharkov Railway Station.

On December 5, 1897, the factory began producing steam locomotives, and in 1911 it began producing internal combustion engines and generators.

After the October Revolution, the factory was nationalized and in 1922 it was renamed the Kharkiv Comintern Steam Locomotive Factory.

Between 1920 and 1923, the factory also repaired 30 foreign tanks captured during the war. And with the mastery of cast armor technology, the factory began to produce tanks and armored vehicles.

In November 1927, according to orders from superiors, the factory established a Special Machinery Manufacturing Design Bureau (which later evolved into the Kharkiv Morozov Machinery Manufacturing Design Bureau) and began to develop the T-12 tank. In 1929

Production starts in December.

This T-12, with a total combat weight of 4 tons, is Mao Xiong's first dual-turret tank.

In 1939, the factory was renamed Kharkiv Factory No. 183. At this time, the factory not only produced BT-2, BT-5, BT-7 and BT-7M light tanks, but also participated in the development of the T-34 tank

.

Before the outbreak of World War II, in addition to manufacturing tanks, the factory also had steam locomotives, crawler tractors, and ship diesel engine manufacturing workshops. It was already a large-scale military-civilian integrated military-industrial enterprise with diversification.

After the outbreak of the Soviet-German War, the factory moved to the Ural region and continued to develop and produce the T-34 series and T-44 tanks under the leadership of tank designer Alexander Morozov.

After World War II, the factory moved back to Kharkiv and put into production the T-54/55 tank.

In addition, they also produce TE steam locomotives and 2,000-horsepower D-100 diesel engines. In the 1950s, based on traction locomotives, the factory developed the BTM-3 high-speed trench excavator for the Mao Xiong Army.

In 1960, the plant was once again renamed Kharkiv Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant.

In 1964, the factory began mass production of the T-64 tank, the predecessor of the T-72 tank, and the 700-horsepower 5TDF turbocharged diesel engine.

In 1987, the Kharkiv Morozov Design Bureau replaced the gas turbine of the T-80 with a 6TD-1 diesel engine, forming the T-80UD tank.

Before the disintegration of Mao Xiong, Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant had produced about 500 T-80UDs, making it Mao Xiong's largest tank factory in Ukraine.

It has an annual production capacity of about 800 tanks and armored vehicles, and its number of employees generally exceeds 10,000 people. If the number of employees in cooperative enterprises is included, the number exceeds 150,000.

However, after the disintegration of Mao Xiong, the Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant also fell into trouble due to the breakdown of the military-industrial cooperation chain and Ukraine's lack of attention to the military.

Because wages could not be paid in time, a large number of employees were lost.

In the near future, the troubled Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant will sell some of its factories to Polish companies and try to switch to the production of combine harvesters, mining equipment, artillery and other products to survive.

"This is the legendary Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant. How did it become like this?" Wang Zherong led his team to Ukraine and went to the Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant accompanied by Jiang Lang.

Originally, I wanted to learn from the experience and see how the Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant produced a monster tank like the T80UD, but I found out after arriving.

Malyshev Transport Machinery Manufacturing Plant has lost its former glory, has been suspended for many days, and even has a lot fewer employees.
