Chapter 152: Opportunity, Beichen's vision

As early as 1900, when Beichen first arrived in Saigon, he met the comprador of the French bank, including Zeng Xizhou, Ma Peisheng, and Li Zhuchi, and others. In 1902, Beichen took advantage of the opportunity to visit the expo in Hanoi to organize the Xingzhonghui, but the number of people was very small. In the winter of 1905, Beichen and Li Zhongshi, Hu Yisheng, Deng Muhan came to Saigon again. He thought that with the foundation, he would be more smooth to form the Hanoi Tongmenghui and raise funds for the uprising, but things were not as smooth as expected, and it could even be said to be a big disappointment.

What he lacked for Beichen was his patience, meticulous, serious and down-to-earth work. It can be said that he established the Xingzhonghui but never organized and led it well. The Tongmenghui in history was almost the same. The practical work was basically done by Huang Xing, Song Jiaoren and others. In history, he only visited the ten uprisings of the Tongmenghui in a short time, and that time he set foot on the country. He and the other people in the Tongmenghui were always very alienated. Even during the Revolution of 1911, they were wandering alone to nowhere.

He traveled overseas for many years, raising funds, buying arms, then organizing uprisings, plotting assassinations, etc. It almost formed the main line of revolution in the first half of Beichen's life. His footprints were not between the world, but were spread all over the world.

This weakness or defect makes the weak foundation laid by Beichen in Hanoi have no effect. Just as the Honolulu base was compromised by the royalists, in a few years, the Revival Society has taken root in Hanoi and formed an unshakable foundation among overseas Chinese.

The embankment is a settlement area for overseas Chinese in Vietnam. Beichen lived in Saigon for a day or two and then went to the embankment. He thought he would receive warm welcome from overseas Chinese and met his old acquaintances very happily. It was easy to establish a Tongmenghui.

However, Beichen and others did not expect that although overseas Chinese businessman Li Zhuchi came forward to welcome them enthusiastically, he was in the spirit of entertaining old friends as a landlord. At the banquet, Li Zhuchi tactfully explained to Beichen that there was a branch of the Fuxing Association, an official newspaper, and a meeting place. Even Beichen's old acquaintance Zeng Xizhou and Ma Peisheng had joined and became a member of the Fuxing Association.

The wine was warm and cold, but Beichen did not want to give up easily. Although the Revival Society was established earlier than the Tongmeng Society, their program and purpose were mild and weak. There was neither a radical nor a revolutionary who could be called a famous revolutionary. Recently, Song Fuhua was launched, but only Sun Yixian should be recognized as a revolutionary leader by revolutionary patriots from all over the country.

"The representative of our 400,000 people is the hero of China!"

"Sun Yixian is the ancestor of revolutionaries recently. Beichen, the one who practices revolutionaries, is recognized by those who have ears and ears... Those who talk about the prosperity of China cannot escape the three words Sun Yixian."

"The first grandson should have countless grandsons to respond. Only when Sun Yixian can it be used in China."

Whether it is newspapers or individuals, is the praise of him false? He was the first revolutionary advocate. He proposed the Three Principles of the People, so he should be the banner of revolution. Revolutionaries naturally gathered under this banner and fought hard until the feudal dynasty was overthrown.

"The Revival Association has a lot of financial resources. When the Guangming Pao was first released, it was not enough to make a profit, but it was released every period and was not stopped." Li Zhuchi said his judgment and was also a tactful advice. "The Revival Association does not focus on raising funds and raising funds. It even established the Chinese Association in Vietnam, which provides many assistance to overseas Chinese who have difficulties in life at the bottom. The guild also hired foreign lawyers to sue for overseas Chinese and fight for the rights they deserve. A few days ago, Song Fuhua, the leader of the Revival Association, visited Hanoi, and then talked with overseas Chinese to talk and overthrow the Qing court, full of confidence. The overseas Chinese are very excited and are very active in subscribing to bonds. The time is very short. If you want to raise funds and raise funds, it may be difficult."

The Revival Society is very rich. The Revival Society has been promoting the revolution in the past two years and strengthening its foundation. The Revival Society has done practical things for overseas Chinese. The Revival Society has received support from overseas Chinese. The Revival Society has issued bonds and received active subscription from overseas Chinese...

Li Zhuchi's words were not long, but they contained a lot of information and the central idea was clear. The foundation of the revival will be solid and its influence among overseas Chinese has become. It is already quite difficult to establish a revolutionary group and raise funds.

"Brothers came here this time, thanking Li Jun and others for such enthusiastic reception, I am really impressed by the fact that I am really worried that there is nothing that can live up to the welcome of you, but I have to give my brothers what they see and tell the overseas Chinese to save the country. I think it is also what you are happy to hear." Beichen decided to try his best. He did not believe that the foundation laid a few years ago was destroyed like this. "The Revival Society is also a revolutionary group. The big goal of the Tongmenghui is to achieve the same goal. I believe that it will not destroy it with despicable means, or even make more excessive moves?"

"Mr. insists on doing this, so there is no need to worry about the hostile actions of the Revival Society." Another overseas Chinese businessman, Liu Yichu, said: "After Mr. arrived in Saigon, the Revival Society made a statement in the newspaper and praised Mr.'s revolutionary spirit, but it also clearly shows that like-minded people are different, and the two families can be unique and do not interfere with each other."

"Don't interfere with each other?" Hu Yimin frowned and said unhappily: "To put it nicely, who knows how they arranged it secretly? They have made a lot of money from overseas Chinese to issue bonds. How many overseas Chinese are rich and able to invest in the revolution again?"

"It's indeed a bit difficult." Li Zhuchi was a little dissatisfied, but his face was normal and said slowly: "Most of those who subscribe to the bonds of the Fuxing Society are the lower-level overseas Chinese, with very few wealthy people, or they subscribe anonymously, leaving a way out, and not many funds raised. However, the royalists have supported them, and I believe the teacher knows the reason for this."

The Revival Association is not short of money, so naturally it is because of Chen Wenqiang's secret support and the Revival Association's organization and publicity, and it runs itself. As for the Royalist Party, because of people's traditional concepts, fundraising is also very smooth.

The Royalist Party’s method of raising funds was mainly to use the false “robes and robes” as a call, and to use the robes, jackets, boots and hats worn by many Qing Dynasty officials to sell official positions among overseas Chinese. It is said that they have the right to give titles under the third rank. The size of the title is determined by the amount of donations you donate.

Most of the overseas Chinese who participated in and supported the royalist party belonged to the upper class, and they all held more property. They had two purposes for joining the royalist party: one was to hope that one day, the royalist party would gain great power in the Qing Dynasty and get a half-office; the other was to wear official robes when visiting relatives in the future and show off their hometowns.

For these purposes, these wealthy overseas Chinese businessmen spent a lot of money to the royalists in exchange for the Qing Dynasty's official uniforms, boots, hats, and took photos with their stunning looks.

The middle-level overseas Chinese people did not object to the revolution. However, they had ideological concerns and did not dare to support it openly. They felt that although the Qing Dynasty should be defeated, the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty was always a rebellious thing and a "rebellion". If the Qing Dynasty could not be defeated, it would inevitably have worries about life when it returned to the motherland in the future. Therefore, the people who were most able to accept and support the revolution were mostly the lower-level overseas Chinese people. However, they were busy all day long and could not give great support to the revolution economically.

This situation is not the first time Beichen has seen, and the Revival Society also faces the same problem. However, the Revival Society focuses on publicity and mobilization. It does not put fundraising first, but it is more welcome to the passionate young people of the lower classes of overseas Chinese, constantly absorbing them into the association and constantly adding to the revolutionary army.

"I have expected these situations long ago, and there is nothing. It is not surprising that people do not understand the principles of revolution, so it is not surprising that they blame them!" Beichen paused, waved his hand suddenly, and said, "There are the most middle and lower-class people in overseas Chinese, but their economic situation is generally poor. Their position is mostly not valued by people, but we cannot use this estimate to look at the lower-class overseas Chinese, and their strength cannot be underestimated. We can often find treasures under the soil!"

Beichen went door to door to talk about revolutionary principles and promoted them in this way. In response, some overseas Chinese expressed their support and paid some money to support them; but many expressed their indifference; some sneered and even ridiculed them after hearing this; and some simply refused Beichen to visit. Therefore, Beichen was somewhat prepared for various possible situations.

"Sir, what makes sense." Liu Yichu said with emotion: "The overseas Chinese at the bottom are the most enthusiastic and active. So he said that the Wanning Uprising in Qiongzhou also participated. Three people came back a few days ago, and they went to the battlefield with real swords and guns. The one named A Shui, who had a lame leg, became even more energetic. He also became an official in the branch of the Fuxing Society."

"Yes!" Li Zhuchi nodded in agreement and said, "Originally, everyone didn't know what was going on. When Song Fuhua came to visit and gave them medals and bonuses with great fanfare, they became heroes all the time. That Ah Shui hung the medals on his chest all day long, and his lameness became an honor in everyone's eyes, which made more young people feel excited."

Beichen was silent for a while, and finally sighed, "Awesome, the strength of the Revival Society is so strong and the planning is so detailed, it is amazing!

Thinking that even though the Tongmenghui has been established, there have been hundreds of people, there has been no stable source of funds. Even the official newspaper "Minbao" has struggled to support it and has barely stopped publishing. In Beichen's idea, to establish a branch in Nanyang and issue newspapers, it is still necessary to convince local wealthy businessmen to invest. It can be seen that the Revival Society has already taken root in Hanoi, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Mangu and other places, and has all kinds of newspapers and publications, which makes Beichen feel a lot of emotion.

"Mr. He is the first to advocate revolution and is famous all over the world. If he can unite with the Revival Society, the leader will be unavoidable." Li Zhuchi advised tactfully: "Although there are differences in the program and purpose of the Tongmenghui and Revival Society, it seems that it can be bridged. For example, if this average land rights are changed to farming and land, it would be fine?"

"European and American countries have good fruits enjoyed by the rich, and the poor eat bad fruits. The few people always control civilized happiness, so they have become an unequal world. What is the root cause? It is because the land problem has not been solved. Average land rights is the first step to solving social problems. We should be far-sighted. Not only solve the two major issues of nationality and politics, but also solve the most difficult social problems in the future together, so as to build our country into the most kind and prosperous country in the world." Beichen flatly rejected Li Zhuchi's kind proposal. The program of "equal land rights" was proposed in 1903 by following China's inherent ideas and learning from the lessons of European and American society.

In fact, at the beginning of the establishment of the Tongmenghui, many people opposed or did not understand the "equal land rights", but Beichen's persistence, his ideals, passions and theories still made the conference pass the "Four Proposals" he proposed.

What’s more important is that Beichen does not think that Li Zhuchi’s saying that the leader would become a reality. Judging from the attitude and performance of the Revival Society, this revolutionary group is obviously unique and will not surrender to a certain person or a certain group. The Revival Society also has its own ideas and plans for the understanding of the revolution, which is difficult to integrate with Beichen.

In other words, the Revival Society did not show any invitation from the beginning to the end to Beichen, and there was no even temptation. This made Beichen quite confused and also felt dissatisfied.

Since the Revival Society has launched its leader Song Fuhua, it is obviously to compete with Beichen to reshape a revolutionary in public. In this regard, Beichen's stubborn nature has risen again. He insists on comparing with the Revival Society to see who is still the leader of the revolution and whose revolutionary theory and path are more correct.

Of course, Li Zhuchi, Liu Yichu and others could not guess these complicated thoughts of Beichen. They just thought that Beichen was too stubborn. What's the harm of changing the program and purpose? If they could really join hands with the Revival, wouldn't it be a good thing to be in the same world?

"Brother Yi Chu, can your Changji Trading Company be the communication agency of the Tongmenghui for the time being?" Beichen said to Liu Yi Chu with a happy face: "In the revolution, like-minded people are not in line with each other. The Fuxing Club does theirs, and the Tongmenghui does theirs, and promotes each other, which may not be impossible to set off a revolutionary victory."

Liu Yichu thought about it and nodded in agreement. Although he was not optimistic about the development of Tongmenghui in Vietnam, he was not easy to refuse due to his sympathy.

"First establish a Tongmenghui branch, promote, incite, raise funds, and plan an uprising. As long as the Yiqian is raised and the momentum is made, the revolutionary influence will be sensational." Beichenxiang was full of confidence and said enthusiastically: "The three provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan are the most promising, especially Guangdong. The civil anti-Qing forces are the most powerful. When the branches are established, I will go to Nanyang and set up Tongmenghui branches in various places to develop and strengthen the revolutionary forces."

Li Zhuchi and others nodded in agreement repeatedly, but felt that revival would have taken the lead. Song Fuhua was already traveling to Nanyang, and Beichen did this, and it may not necessarily lead to great results.
