Chapter 205: Five Questions

After rushing to lunch, George fled in a panic under the strange eyes of his colleagues.

He felt at ease when he returned to the independent office from the crowded cafeteria.

Only when staying alone can George feel that the world is real and feel relaxed.

He didn't know why, but he instinctively hated communicating with outsiders. Even with his students, he just wanted to deal with monthly teaching inspections.

Sitting on the soft wooden chair, George took out the little book Ball gave him, and decided to see what the book was and burned after reading it.

Could it be a banned book that slandered the empire? Or it is really...

His breathing became rapid, and then he couldn't wait to turn the first page.

The cover of the small book has no name, but on the first page, he saw a line of words arranged vertically: "The truth of the world"!

The title of the book made George frown slightly, rolled his eyes slightly, and then turned to the next page.

‘Do you have a feeling that you are living under an invisible and intangible shackle, like a domestic animal in captivity?’

‘What is the meaning of the existence of the empire?’

‘Why can’t you get the life you dream of working all your life?’

‘Is there some kind of close connection between people?’

‘Who… controls your life?’

The second page is also quite short, with only five problems, but these five problems made George sit up straight and his mind slowly calm down.

"What book is this?" George looked at the book cover again and did not find the publisher's logo from any place.

Turning to the third page, I saw the title on the top and the text below.

‘Invisible Enemy’

George looked at the content of the text, and the more he looked, his brows became tighter and the expression on his face changed constantly with learning and thinking.

Until the giant pendulum on the Black Stone Tower rang, reminding the students in the college that it was time to study and also reminding teachers that it was time to teach students.

Taking off the gold-rimmed glasses from his face, George rubbed his sore eyes, but there was still a shocking expression on his face.

But now he has to teach students and teach writing knowledge.

He carefully put the book into the lining of the suit, and George walked out of the office with the textbooks, and came to his professor's class in reminiscence.

All the students in his class are poor students, and there is an inner courtyard inside Obsidian Academy, which teaches the children of wealthy businessmen.

"...Okay, turn to the part we talked about this morning."

George came to the classroom and went straight to the topic without any opening ceremony. They had not yet developed the good habit of respecting teachers. Although these students respected the teachers, they only got along very normally, as if he was the same worker.

There is actually not much difference between teachers and workers in the outer school of Obsidian College, and their working hours are not short every day. The only better thing is that the school can provide food and accommodation.

More than 60 students opened the textbook as they said, and began to listen carefully, taking notes from time to time.

Although they are just children, they also understand the importance of knowledge. Each teacher only has one recommended place per school year. Only children who get the quota can enter the special class in the inner courtyard, learn knowledge that allows them to get good work, and then they can have a full meal when they grow up.

But today they found that Teacher George seemed to be distracted in this class and was reminded several times by several academic masters.

An hour passed, and the swing bell rang again, which finally made George, who was often distracted, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's over, go and have a rest. Don't be late later." George finished speaking to a group of students who were eager to see him below the podium, and announced the class was over. He couldn't wait to sit down on the chair on the podium and took out the little book.

A series of novel knowledge in the book broadened his horizons and also made him understand many problems that he had never understood.

After reading the first article, "Invisible Enemy", George felt that the shackles of his soul were opened by a key. When he looked at the world again, he felt a sense of enlightenment as if he had jumped out of the chessboard!

He temporarily put down the book and stared at the students who were still studying hard in the audience. After scanning it a few times, he stared at someone and shouted: "Doug..."

George's voice echoed in the classroom, attracting all the attention of those academic masters who wanted to have a place.

A thin and weak boy stood up and responded excitedly, "At! Teacher George, are you looking for me?"

Looking at the excited-looking good student, George opened his mouth and immediately closed his hand, waved his hand and said, "Uh, it's okay, I'll talk about it later."

The student named Doug sat down in disappointment when he heard this.

George also read the next article of the book again, man and beast.

The more he read, the more he felt that the author of this book was very knowledgeable, and this is the real knowledge!

This is the knowledge he pursues!

An hour passed, the pendulum clock rang again, and the students returned to the classroom one after another.

After everyone was seated, George wrote a question on the blackboard: "Why are you reading for?"

After writing, he turned to face his students with anticipation, and called a few people to get up to answer the question, hoping that they could give some insights similar to those in the little book.

But what disappointed him happened, and the students answered one answer after another that was consistent but not amazing enough with pride.

"I want to make money for my family!"

"I want to become an executive at Felix Alchemy!"

"I...I want to buy a big house."

...

George was unwilling to give up and started to name one by one, hoping that a "good student" would appear in his class.

The students who were named answered were feeling uncomfortable. They began to think about their answers, trying to make Teacher George, whose face turned worse, become the original expressionless look again. Unfortunately, when everyone answered, Teacher George's expression was still the same.

Looking at the student below who seemed to have done something wrong, George was a little disappointed, leaned on the chair tiredly, and said, "Forget it, everyone should study for themselves..."

The students were depressed, feeling that they seemed to have said something wrong.

The disappointment lasted for a moment, and George realized that what the little book said was true. They were actually living in an invisible shackle. The empire... controlled everyone!

He did not teach students in the afternoon classes, but looked at the little book and wrote down his insights and ideas about the contents of the little book in an empty notebook.

When the love reaches deep, anger and sadness will appear on his face. The teacher he was originally proud of was just an accessory that was added to him by capital. In fact, he is no different from those workers.
