Chapter 29: Every story should have a good ending, but not every one(1/2)

At night, the team's snowmobile stopped on the roadside to rest.

The car lights were still on, and the yellowish light silently illuminated the snow on the road.

The wind was a bit strong at night, but Deloso walked out of the carriage alone.

He stood on the snow for a while and took out a medicine bottle from his pocket.

If they didn't look at his pale face and trembling palms, perhaps no one would know how painful he was.

Of course, it's the same now, at least the employees don't know that he's going to die in a few months.

"Ka." De Rosso took out a pill from the medicine bottle and put it into his mouth.

After taking the pills, he took out the oxygen tank from his waist. After taking a few deep breaths of oxygen, his complexion gradually improved.

On the snow, Deroso panted feebly for a while, then put his hands into his pockets, stood quietly, and looked up at the starry night sky.

At the end of the canyon, the endless snowfield seemed to be connected to the sky, and Drosso became the only figure on this white snow.

People before the disaster must have looked up at a starry sky like this.

Standing between the Milky Way and the ice and snow, Drosso thought in a daze.

His eyes became more and more fascinated, and he seemed to be able to see the past scene in the starlight.

"The world before the disaster must have been beautiful..."

The young man muttered to himself.

"It's okay." At this moment, a voice suddenly appeared behind him.

This startled De Rosso. He quickly turned around and saw Yanagihara sitting on the top of the carriage, crossing his legs together in boredom and swaying gently.

At this time, Yanagi Yuan looked very quiet, with his hands supported by his side and his face expressionless.

"Ms. Yuan."

Droso smiled slightly awkwardly and said hello.

"Yes." Yanagi Yuan responded, lowering his head and looking at Droso.

"Have you not told them yet that you are about to die?"

"Not yet." Droso smiled bitterly and shook his head: "Otherwise, I'm afraid they will refuse to accept my commission."

"Aren't you afraid that they will give up the commission if they find out?" Liuyuan asked again.

"When we reach the eastern ice wall, I will pay all the rewards and let them leave." Droso shrugged, obviously not caring about this.

This time, he had no intention of returning to the greenhouse alive.

The sounds on the snow were silent for a while.

Suddenly, Yanagi Yuan patted the seat next to him and said, "Would you like to come up and sit down?"

"Okay, but I can't get up." Deroso glanced helplessly at the roof of the car and sighed with a smile.

"I'll help you."

With that said, Yanagi Yuan jumped out of the car and walked to Droso's side.

Under Deroso's stunned gaze, she put her hands on his waist and lifted him high, like lifting a child, and lifted him to the side of the car roof.

"Climb up." Yanagihara said.

"I, huh..." Delosso came back to his senses and smiled feebly, but still put his hands on the roof of the car and climbed up bit by bit.

"Ms. Yuan, I will be embarrassed if you do this."

"can you?"

"Um."

"Then you should crawl faster."

"I'm trying my best, aren't I?"

······

After a while, Yanagihara and Deroso were both sitting on the roof of the car.

Different from the feeling of standing on the snow, the view from the roof of the car is obviously wider, so that even the sky seems closer.

Droso looked into the distance and seemed to be in a good mood. This was obviously a rare thing for a patient like him.

"I heard from Maika and the others that you want to go to the Eastern Ice Murals to paint a picture?"

The evening breeze was blowing, and Yanagihara asked aloud beside Droso.

"Yeah." Having said this, Deroso's face showed another smile and nodded affirmatively.

"What kind of painting is it?" Liuyuan's tone was light, like the wind blowing in front of him, with a hint of coolness.

"Ms. Yuan, do you want to take a look?" Deroso raised his brows, slightly twitching the corners of his mouth, with a gentle smile on his face.

"If possible." Liuyuan did not deny it.

She also really wanted to see what kind of painting it was that would make the young man in front of her willing to spend his last life for it.

"Here." Droso lowered his head, took out a photo from his arms, and handed it to Liuyuan.

"That's it. I'm going to paint it on that ice wall."

Liuyuan took the photo, and the scenery above made her stunned for a while.

It wasn't until a long time later that she blinked and returned the photo to Droso.

“It’s beautiful.”

There seemed to be a rare fluctuation in Liuyuan's calm voice.

She couldn't remember how long it had been since she had seen such a scene. At that moment, she almost thought she had returned to the past.

Unfortunately, it's just a close call.

"Really?" De Rosso smiled proudly.

"It will definitely be a great piece of work."

As he said that, the young man looked at the snowfield in the distance again, his eyes distant and peaceful.

"And how honored I am to be able to write it."

The stars are shining and everything is quiet.

Liu originally thought that the topic between her and the boy was over.

Who knew, Derroso suddenly asked again.

"By the way, Ms. Yuan, have you seen the scene before the disaster?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Because you just gave me the answer."

When I was talking to myself, the young man thought of this helplessly.

"Well, I have seen some of them, I guess." Yanagi Yuan paused for a while and gave an ambiguous answer.

Droso subconsciously thought that she had seen the records before the disaster in some books, and then asked excitedly.

"Was the world really warm before the disaster?"

"Yeah." Liuyuan thought about it silently in his heart, but he could no longer recall the warm feeling, so he could only state it lightly.

"Before a big hole appeared in the sky."

"A big hole in the sky?" DeRoso obviously didn't know what it was.

"It's in that direction." Liuyuan raised his hand and calmly pointed to the south.

"The sky there was once cracked, and there was a hole that could not be seen to the edge."

Is this so?

Droso looked in the direction of Yanagihara's finger. At least for now, there was nothing there.

"Then what?" DeRoso continued to ask.

"Then soot and ash obscured the sky, and the planet lost most of its sunlight. A cold wave came, and ice and snow buried everything. Humanity had to enter a dark age."

Yanagi Yuan spoke slowly, his voice calm, as if he was really just narrating a piece of history.

But her eyes were always lowered.

Those dark eyes seemed to be able to make people see those dark years.

"Did the darkness last long?"

Droso was a little distracted by Yanagihara's words. He had never understood the history of mankind, so he had never known about the past that had been sealed in dust for too long.

"It's been a long time." Liuyuan put down his hand: "It's been so long that people have almost forgotten what the sun looks like."

That was a whole century, the darkest century after the disaster.
