Chapter 22: A car is a man's second lover(1/2)

At midnight, Wardson finished his business for the day and returned to his home.

On the top of the greenhouse, the last few greenhouse trains are still running, and the car lights illuminate the interlaced steel under the dome. This can be regarded as a unique scenery in the post-disaster era.

The street was deserted. On the path paved with bricks and stones, Wardson stood in front of his house with a tired look. He was silent for a while and took out a key from his pocket.

His face was covered with stubble, and it was obvious that he had not groomed it for many days.

Obviously, although the beast's problem has been solved, his work has not been reduced much.

In fact, because he had to deal with some follow-up matters, he had worked overtime for three consecutive days, which made the dark circles under his eyes a little heavier.

"Click." He raised his hand and inserted the key into the door lock.

Wardson was about to open the door, but suddenly he seemed to feel something, stopped what he was doing, and turned his head to look at a corner of the street.

Facts have proved that his feeling was not wrong.

Not far from him, in the shadows on the street corner, a figure was leaning against the wall, playing with a lighter in his hand.

"Pop." The flame on the lighter ignited and then went out.

Then, the figure walked out from the shadows.

The light of the street lamp illuminated her appearance. It was an extremely handsome face, and it was also a face that Wardson remembered deeply.

"Liuyuan." He called out the name, and Wardson stood there blankly.

"Yes." Yanagi Yuan responded softly, throwing the lighter in his hand and saying.

"I'm here to return your things to you. By the way, I want to receive my reward."

With that said, she stopped and threw the lighter to Wardson, who was still in a trance.

Wardson caught the thrown silver cube in a daze, and for a while, he didn't know whether it was a surprise or an unbelievable smile.

"Oh, you are still alive?"

"I will not die so easily." Yanagi Yuan lowered his eyes and said calmly, putting his hands into the pockets of his coat: "So, you don't want to default on your debt."

It was quiet everywhere, the lights flickered occasionally, and flying insects surrounded the street lamps as always, chasing the touchable but unreachable light.

"No, the Greenhouse Guards never default on their debts." Wardson looked at Liuyuan with a smile and said slowly.

Then, he threw back the lighter in his hand.

"Pah." Liuyuan raised his hand to catch the thing in mid-air, raised his eyebrows and asked, "What do you mean?"

"It's for you." Wardson waved his hand and turned around without looking at Yanagi Yuan.

"I will prepare everything for you tomorrow. Also, I wish you a smooth journey."

Yanagi Yuan stood lazily on the street. She looked at Wardson, and after a while, nodded and said.

"Well, I'll trouble you then."

After that, she was ready to leave.

"Oh, yes, there's more." At this time, Wardson suddenly stopped her and said.

"Thank you." In the silent street, these two words seemed short and powerful.

"Nothing." Yanagihara waved with his back to Wardson, put the lighter into his pocket, and walked into the shadows of the street again.

In fact, Yanagihara knew that she simply could not bear Wardson's gratitude.

Because in this battle facing disaster, she was a coward who chose to escape, but Wardson was still a fighter and was still fighting.

······

Yanagihara had long wanted to replace her old snowmobile, so when she saw the new snowmobile prepared for her by Wardson, she got on it without thinking.

Sure enough, human beings like the new and hate the old.

While complaining about the bad nature of human beings in his heart, Yanagihara felt the new snowmobile without shame.

Well, the hand is very comfortable, the load capacity is large, the fuel gauge is clear, the body paint is well preserved, and there are no foreign objects in the tracks.

Is it brand new? Yanagihara looked at the snowmobile intently, as if he was looking at his new lover.

The large oil pan and round cushions are upturned, which perfectly meets her needs. (You can refer to the tracked car in the girl's final journey.)

Wardson really knows how to do things.

Unconsciously, Yanagihara sighed again in his heart, feeling like he didn't want to get out of the car.

Al stood aside. She came to receive supplies with Liuyuan, but she ended up being the one standing here looking at Liuyuan's embarrassment.

After sighing helplessly and counting the supplies in the car, Al nodded to Wardson standing aside and said.

"The quantity is correct."

"Okay." Wardson responded with a smile, then looked at Yanagihara and asked.

"How's it going? Are you satisfied with the new car?"

"Well, I'm very satisfied." Liuyuan sat in the car, feeling the softness of the seat cushion up and down, and answered affirmatively.

After all, this mat alone is a hundred times better than her dry and shriveled old car.

"As long as you are satisfied." Wardson looked at Yanagihara with a dumbfounded look. He just thought that this person was really interesting. Sometimes he was terrifyingly calm, but sometimes he was so innocent and simple.

There is no way, why Liuyuan only has these two hobbies, one is eating and the other is driving.

Her old motorcycle can no longer meet her needs, so it would be better to break up peacefully as soon as possible, so as not to cause trouble for both parties.

Because of the extra open compartment, the snowmobile can carry much more supplies than the snowmobile.

After loading all the things and letting Al sit inside, there was still some extra space in the car.

"Okay." Helping to insert the last tank of oxygen next to the car, Wardson looked at Yanagihara and said.

"If there's nothing else, I'll go back first."

"Okay, bye." Liuyuan sat in the car and checked the dashboard. Hearing Wardson's words, he waved his hand and said.

You're really welcome.

Wardson smiled bitterly in his heart, then sighed and said.

"Bon Voyage."

"Well, you too." Yanagihara said, looking back at Wardson.

"Don't lose next year."

"Heh." Wardson grinned: "Don't worry, it won't happen."

He will keep winning until he dies.

"Goodbye then."

"See you."

On this vast expanse of ice, saying goodbye may be the heaviest promise between people.

Because it means that no matter how far apart we are, we will eventually meet again.

Whether Yanagihara and Wardson will see each other again, they don't know. What they know is that they both have to move forward on their own paths.

And goodbye is their blessing to each other.

The difference is that what Wardson hopes is that the two will eventually meet again.

But Yanagihara hopes that the two will never see each other again.

Because one of them wants to continue living, and the other wants to die.

The door under the greenhouse opened, Yanagihara started the snowmobile, and under the watchful eye of Wardson, he took Al and drove into the ice field.

Ahead is a patch of white snow with no direction. Only the traveler knows that she will go through the snow to the end of the land.

On the other side, a team of well-equipped hirelings was also sorting things out.

Under the astonished gaze of others, they loaded boxes of paint into the carriage.

A young man stood next to them and said with a wry smile.

"I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you."

"It's okay." One of the employees in the team said with a smile.

"If you're not feeling well, just rest more. Just leave these chores to us."

After all, the entire trip was paid for by the boy alone, which also included the hiring fees of the employees.

"Right." Having said this, the employer seemed to have remembered something again and asked the young man.

"Speaking of which, what are you going to do in the Eastern Plains?"

"Oh." The young man smiled softly, with an inexplicable light in his eyes.

"I'm going there and painting a picture."
