Chapter 79: Under Zhao Ziyu(1/2)

"Practice or inaction" is the fundamental difference between Confucianism and Taoism.

There are three reasons why Taoism advocates "inaction":

In ancient times, there was no action but now there was a way. In the way, there was no virtue but there was no way. In the sky, there was no way but people had a way.

Therefore, the dispute between Confucianism and Taoism is the struggle between ancient and modern times, the struggle between morality, and the struggle between heaven and man.

This is also the right and wrong between Confucianism and Taoism.

This time, the debate between Zhao Rong and Tao Yuanran focused on these three points.

Zhao Rong and Tao Yuanran competed against each other.

Zhao Rong: "Don't respect the virtuous, so that the people will not fight; do not value rare goods, so that the people will not be robbed; do not see desire, so that the people will not be confused. Therefore, the sages ruled, so that the people will not be ignorant and have no desires, so that those who know dare not do it. If they do nothing, they will be governed."

Tao Yuanran: "A gentleman is safe but does not forget danger, exist but does not forget death, and govern but does not forget chaos. Therefore, a gentleman is about to have actions and actions. Ask and speak, he will be given the order. He is like a direction, without being far and near, and then he knows that the coming things are not the most important thing in the world. Who can match this?"

Zhao Rong: "There are many taboos in the world, and the people become poorer; there are many powerful tools, and the country is in a daze; there are many skillful tricks, and strange things are raised; there are many laws and regulations, and there are many thieves. Therefore, I do nothing, and the people transform themselves; I like quietness, and the people are self-righteous; I have nothing to do, and the people are self-rich; I have no desires, and the people are self-simplified."

Tao Yuanran: “…”

...

Off the stage, Lin Wenruo listened at the argument on the stage attentively, stared at the two on the stage, and suddenly breathed a light tone.

Before the start of the debate, Lin Wenruo was very worried, especially after learning that Zhao Rong's opponent was a Taoist gentleman, and even had the illusion that he had lost the end. But now seeing that Zhao Rong was not at all at first, he couldn't help but let go of his heart, at least there was hope!

And the more Lin Wenruo listened, the more surprised he was. He found that Zhao Rong had outstanding eloquence and was able to read Taoist classics easily. He knew that Zhao Rong had a good memory, but he didn't expect that he had studied Taoism on weekdays, and it seemed that it was not as simple as seeing it.

The atmosphere was a bit depressing when the audience members of Chongxu were located on the other side of the venue.

Isn’t this conversation a one-sided situation?

This is very different from what they expected.

Qingjingzi's face looked a little ugly. Although he was not good at being accustomed to the right, he knew the matter very well. The stalemate situation on the field only shows one thing.

The two of them had similar eloquence on the field and could not defeat the other party immediately. They could only see which side exposed the loophole first, turned into a passive, and finally lost.

Qingjingzi glanced at Qingyuanzi and found that the other party was staring at the scholar on the stage whom he had always looked down upon, with an incredible expression.

Qingjingzi suddenly felt a sense of gratitude.

Fortunately, Qingyuanzi did not let this Zhao Ziyu choose in the second game, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable!

At this time, the battle between the two on the stage gradually became fierce.

Zhao Rong has always grasped the view of "nothing is done, but everything is done", believing that a gentleman will govern the country with the principle of "nothing is done" and does not provoke wars on his own initiative. If there is no disaster in the country, the people will naturally become rich.

A gentleman who governs the country has no desires, and the people will naturally become simple.

It is also said that "governing a big country is like cooking a small fresh food", do not move the shovel and stir it up as soon as the pot, otherwise the meat will be broken. In extension, it means that governing a big country means not disturbing the people, not being bothered, and not changing orders every day.

In short, only by doing nothing can you do everything.

Tao Yuanran strongly opposed it, believing that the premise of "governance of inaction" is that both officials and the people consciously abide by it, or rebel against wisdom, making the people of the country stupid and desireless, and obey the command of the ruler like a lamb. Otherwise, "governance" means nothing, and the country will become more and more chaotic.

These premises are ideal, so they are not valid.

And he believes that when a gentleman governs the country, he must do something, that is, "profitable", and must stand up and do something, no matter whether the result is good or bad, he must do something.

Zhao Rong held his fist in one hand and placed his belly with jade in the other hand. His eyes were focused and his words were burning.

When the debate began, Tao Yuanran, who had been turning the rosary, had stopped his hands and looked at the Confucian scholar in front of him with a more serious expression.

Both of them were clever and spoke fiercely, and no one allowed any of them.

Zhao Rong: "Doing things that are not done, doing teachings that do not speak, and not wanting to be quiet, the world will be determined by itself."

Tao Yuanran: "How do you do it?"

Zhao Rong: "The sage said, "I am weak in my heart, I am strong in my belly, I am weak in my ambition, and I am strong in my bones. The upper part is like a sticky branch, and the people are like wild deer."

Tao Yuanran: "According to what you did, there is no father or king, this is a beast! The world is in chaos, and it starts from you!"

After that, the situation suddenly took a turn!

Lin Wenruo frowned and looked at Tao Yuanran who was aggressive after gaining power, and had a bad premonition.

Tao Yuanran said in a bright tone, "You say, "If you do nothing, you will do everything, and then you will be ahead of yourself; you also say that you do not live, so you will not leave. This is entirely focused on human affairs, gains and losses, and you will completely plan to deal with power and strategy."

He also said: "I began to focus on practical utilitarianism, value power and tricks, and he was close to fraud. He grasped nature and played with it on his palm. He pretended to be inaction, but his heart was deliberate, and he would do everything."

Tao Yuanran focused on the attack on Zhao Rong's conclusion "doing nothing but doing everything" on the three words "doing everything", and attributed Zhao Rong's views to conspiracy theory and power theory.

He misinterpreted Zhao Rong's views with clever logic, which made Zhao Rong's previous dialectics untenable and contradictory.

Zhao Rong suddenly stopped, frowned, leaned forward, and placed the hand holding the jade plaque tightly on the table.

Zhao Rong had nothing to say for a moment and didn't know how to defend himself.

His heart suddenly jumped, thinking that the rules of defense could not pause for more than three breaths, he hurriedly responded when he glanced at the Liuyi layman ready to speak.

It was just in a hurry, and I could only try my best to make a vague sophistry and try to divert the focus.

But Tao Yuanran was in power and was unforgivable, and he kept a close eye on the loophole just now.

Suddenly, the situation on the stage changed suddenly, and Zhao Rong began to become passive and became increasingly unable to support him.

In the debate, being passive means not far from defeat!

Lin Wenruo clenched his fists in the audience, his fingertips fell into the flesh of his palm, and he held his breath and stared at Zhao Rong.

On the other side, Qingyuanzi, who had a tight face, suddenly breathed a sigh of relief, grinned and laughed silently.

Qingjingzi beside him shouted ok, and looked at a certain furnace in the crowd opposite him with a joking look. He felt that it was within reach. He looked at the young Confucian scholar who was stammering on the stage, with cruel eyes.

Zhao Rong barely supported him, dealing with Tao Yuanran's "attack" and thinking about countermeasures with one mind.

His right hand was pressed against the table, and the milky white jade plaques in his palm kept emitting a burst of heat, just like his heart at this moment.

Zhao Rong felt that he was in a very strange state. He clearly felt where the theory to resolve the loophole just now was, but it was indescribable!

Just like sometimes, you are thinking about something the previous second, forget it the next second, and then you know it exists, but it is difficult to remember no matter how you think about it.

Zhao Rong was also in this strange state at this moment.

I have forgotten to speak if I want to argue.

The situation became increasingly dangerous. Suddenly, with Tao Yuanran's powerful shout falling, Zhao Rong paused again, speechless.

At this moment, Zhao Rong felt that time seemed to have slowed down. He stared at the old man in front of him with burning eyes, and saw the reflected self from it. He could feel that time was passing rapidly, like countless flying swords flying away from both sides of his face. He knew that in less than three breaths, he would lose, lose his dignity, lose the life of his friend, lose the 700-year-old ancestor of the Lanxi Lin family, lose... that stupid girl.

Under this heavy pressure like a mountain, he suddenly wanted to give up everything and bowed his head and gave in...

no!

He cried in his heart, like a giant beast sealed in the abyss tore apart Henggu's chains.

His teeth suddenly clenched the tip of his tongue, the fishy sweet smell of blood hit his taste buds, and the numb pain teared his nerves, telling him the existence of perception.

No, I didn't lose!

Zhao Rong turned his head and briefly avoided the old man's gaze, took a deep breath, preparing to continue to make arbitrary sophistry while searching for the key in his mind, but his eyes just happened to catch a glimpse of the people below the audience.

Su Xiaoxiao, who clenched her fists and bit her lips, looked up at him like a prayer.

Lin Qingxuan with a pale face.

There was Chen Muzhi who was lying in his seat and looked dull.

And... Lin Wenruo, whose face was red and his eyes were tightly opened.

He even saw Qingyuanzi holding his hands and looking at him with a smile on his face...

etc!

Qing Yuanzi! Lin Wenruo!

A flash of inspiration passed through Zhao Rong's mind like lightning, like the first sky light at dawn, piercing through endless darkness.

I remembered it, it was "theory of the body and the one source"!

It was just the second briefing, and the "inaction-based theory" raised by Qing Yuanzi, regardless of the "physical and functional theory" involved!

His eyes widened like a thousand-year-old dark room, igniting an orange fire in vain.

A light will make you clear.

Seeing that the three breaths had arrived, the lay Buddhist sighed in his heart and said, "I..."

Before the tone of the first word was completely spit out, he suddenly stopped because the Confucian scholar had already spoken out loud and the two of them started to defend each other again.

The lay Buddhist 1st shook his head slightly.

Zhao Rong had a clear mind and held his position. Although he was still inferior and extremely passive, he remained imposing and gradually climbed up. At some point, when Tao Yuanran grabbed him again and refused to let go of the loopholes before, the corner of his mouth unconsciously, and he threw out the "body-use theory" in a deep voice.

Zhao Rong said: "The most subtle is the principle, and the most outstanding is the image; the body and use one source, and the microscopicity is endless..."

And when Zhao Rong was just beginning to narrate meticulously, some commotion occurred in the audience.

It would be fine if you have been at a disadvantage before, but you may still have a chance to turn the tables, but just paused for so long, you obviously have no support for the wording. Even if you are a lay Buddhist in June 1st, you can directly be judged to lose, and you are still quibbling now.

Everyone is not Bai Ding, they have been to the debate and know what this situation means.
