Chapter 54 The Clues of Uncle Gardine

On the morning of the 15th day of the flowering period in 1318, Xikangbu.

Last night at the Suzuki Street Tavern, Bronzebeard asked the merchant Marat about the location of the well-reputed shops and the other four taverns in Nikonbu.

Dunk woke up from his sleep in the early morning. Since he had the "Medical Dream", he would go directly into the "Medical Dream" every time he fell asleep. He would wake up immediately as soon as he left there, and he would not even have the chance to have other dreams.

After washing up, he patted the sleeping little gray cat a few times. He followed the bronze beard along the route he set last night to visit the owners of four taverns one by one, and at the same time exchanged all the gold notes he received for gold coins.

The first tavern is called "Midnight Howling", located on Yeling Street on the northwest side of Xikangbu.

As soon as I heard the name, I knew that this was a tavern that became more and more noisy as the night became, and it closed during the day. The hall was full of alcoholic vagabonds, gambling men, and members of the club. The bartender behind the bartender wiped the wine glass half open, and did not know anything about the problem of bronze beard. After taking three silver coins and making sure that the bartender remembered the conditions for finding people, he quickly left with his companions.

The second tavern is called "Hanno's Beer and Barbecue", located on the Knitting Street on the west side of Sikonbu.

According to the tavern culture in mainland Feilun, taverns starting with the last name of the tavern owner are places for drinking and enjoying delicious food, starting from 9 am to 11 pm. In addition to the lobby, such taverns also have private rooms on the second floor and elegant seats on the balcony. Whether it is a family dinner or a gathering of friends, taverns starting with their last names are the first choice.

Bronzebeard talked with the tavern owner for a moment with a relaxed and pleasant conversation, leaving with some regrets, and there was no news about uncle Kadaiyin here.

The two walked along the street to the south side of Xikangbu, and turned into a dark alley after more than ten minutes.

"That's it. It seems that there are other businesses running here." Bronzebeard stood in the alley and looked up at the signboard and magic light box of the third tavern: Red Pants Tavern, Laughing Hall Branch.

"We will leave after we finish our business, as this place is easy to get into trouble." The bronze beard pushed open the wooden door in front of us and lifted the thick black cloth used as the door curtain.

Dunk followed his companions through the curtains and glanced around the scene inside the tavern, and knew what the bronze beard meant as "other business". The lights here are dim and the dark red light is deliberately used to create a decent atmosphere. The waiter who came and went between the dining tables was also dressed in "graceful".

"Two, you must know that people who are not here to enjoy themselves..." The tavern owner, wearing a cowboy hat, a black jacket, and a singular mustache, leaned against the bar.

"We're not here to make trouble." Bronzebeard raised his hands and said, "Two glasses of beer."

"Okay. You can call me Red Pants..." Red Pants took two glasses of beer from the wooden barrel at hand and put them in front of the bronze beards.

"I'll just say it. I'm looking for someone..."

Bronzebeard took a sip of dark yellow beer, pointed to the insignia on its belt and said, "Help me notice if this insignia has appeared here."

Red pants tilted their heads and rubbed their fingers.

The bronze beard took out three silver coins from the purse and put them on the bar: "The validity period is one year. Whether there is any news or not, these three silver coins will belong to you."

This is the most refined and common word that the bronze beard summed up after walking through dozens of taverns. It is more effective than "This silver coin is used as a deposit, if there is news within a year, I will pay two more silver coins."

"I haven't seen it before. But, the deal." Hong Pants swept three silver coins into the drawer with his hands, then picked up a clean leather wine glass and wiped it.

Seeing this, the bronze beard took out two more copper coins from the purse and put them on the table. Then he pulled Dunk, who was not drinking, and walked out of the tavern.

"If you don't want to get into trouble, you have to leave before he finishes cleaning the glass." Bronzebeard patted his belly, opened the new manual and said, "Below is... 'Sir Ding'. This one looks pretty good."

Walking out of the dark alley, Bronzebeard and Dunk walked around the ring road for a short half way to Jinbox Street, which was south of the center of Xikangbu.

Sir Ding Tavern is located in the middle of this street, and the nearby residents are richer locals. There are many enthusiasts and collectors of jewelry, armor and weapons. They often gather in Sir Ding Tavern to attend small trade fairs held by the tavern owners.

As soon as Dunk pushed open the metal door of the tavern, he was attracted by the various armor hanging on the walls of the hall. The most eye-catching thing was the full-body armor placed by the tavern owner Sir Ding in the glass cover in the center of the hall.

While the bronze beard was going to deal with Sir Ding, Dunk carefully looked at the exquisite work of art around the glass cover.

This full-body plate armor seemed to be tailor-made for Sir Ding. The same height and body shape, and even the width of the shoulders were almost the same... Dunk's eyes flashed back and forth between the glass cover and the bar. The flat chest and pubic armor were on Sir Ding's current belly shape, which made him understand why this plate armor was eating dust here.

8300 gold coins!?...Dunk looked at the base of the plate armor and saw that it was engraved with: "Maker: Deep Water City, Hilmer Weapon Master. It is worth 8300 gold coins and will not be sold." And an insignia: In the round pattern, a right hand with an iron guard folds a long sword into three sections.

Dunk stroked his forehead gently and decided not to look at the terrible numbers anymore. He walked to the bronze beard and listened to the conversation between the dwarf and Sir Ding.

"Please forgive me for asking," Sir Ding frowned and looked at the insignia on the waist of the bronze beard: "What does this mean if this pattern appears?"

The Bronzebeard rubbed the wine glass with a little nervousness, trying to keep a calm tone: "I'm looking for my missing uncle. He is from the Lingzhu clan like me."

"So that's how it is." Sir Ding put away the three silver coins in front of him and pointed to the wooden door behind the bronze beards: "Come with me, let's go in and talk."

This means there is a clue. Bronzebeard and Dunk followed Sir Ding's pace after the bartender lifted the cover of the bar.

"Please sit down, two of you. Let me prepare." Sir Ding walked into his office and started rummaging in the cabinet beside the table.

"You will know after a little inquiries. In addition to running this tavern, I also often organize trade fairs between collectors."

"Please look at this." A list was placed in front of the bronze beard, and Sir Ding pointed to the third trade and said, "There is the emblem of your waist on the handle of this dwarf's hand axe."

Dunk looked at the list, which described the axe as follows: a dwarf hand axe cast at least 360 years ago, with the emblem of the Spirit Forging Clan at the head of the handle. The origin of this item is unknown and is suspected to be a stolen item. If you want to buy it, please know the risks.

"Then this hand axe...is there any other news?" The bronze beard looked at Sir Ding, reached out and took out a gold coin and put it on the table.

"There is bad news, good news." Sir Ding put the gold coins into his pocket and continued:

"The bad news is that the axe has not been sold, but has never appeared since then. The good news is that the seller of the axe is actually a half-elf thief wanted by Xuanshui City."

The bronze beard looked at the sketch of the axe on the list. Although it was just a few sketches, the special arc of the handle had been drawn.

"Thank you very much, Sir Ding." Bronzebeard stood up with Dunk and nodded to Sir Ding. The two left the tavern without stopping.

"Is that hand axe your uncle belongs to?"

"It's not wrong." The bronze beard lightly hammered his palm, and the beard at the corner of his mouth raised and pointed to the sky. He said happily: "It's not wrong. We are going to Xuanshui City to catch the half-elf thief. Before that, we will first exchange the gold banknotes for gold coins. Later, we will arrive at the Ruichi treasury. Don't talk, let me do it. Give me the banknotes first."

The dwarf took away the banknotes handed over by Dunk and continued, "It is said that the goblin manager in the vault is very difficult, so you must not pay attention to them."
