Chapter One Hundred and Thirty African Fights

Two years passed quickly, and by the beginning of 1943, the entire world pattern also underwent tremendous changes.

The battle was dark on the European battlefield. In order to cut off the Caucasus oil supply and grain production areas of the Soviet Union, the German army launched the Second Stalingrad Battle. This was the bloodiest decisive battle. The Soviet army participated in the battle with more than 1.1 million troops, including 15,501 artillery, 1,863 tanks, and 1,115 aircraft. The German army had a total force of 1 million, and its weapons and equipment included 10,290 artillery, 1,675 tanks, and 1,216 aircraft.

The final result was that the Soviet army's successful Estalingrad dragged the German army, providing valuable strategic time for the Soviet army to counter-encircle the German army, and eventually wiped out the German Sixth Army Group, causing 330,000 casualties. The Soviet army itself was not having a good time, and it suffered 710,000 casualties and more than 100,000 civilians died.

But the Soviet Union seized the initiative in the war since then, because the German army was eliminated by the whole system, and it was difficult for new recruits to improve their combat effectiveness. The Soviet army was crippled at the beginning, and the remaining veterans led new recruits to quickly form combat effectiveness.

In the following two years, the German army was unable to launch a strategic offensive and was in a defensive state. The Soviet army gradually launched a counterattack, constantly recovering lost ground, pushing the battlefield to the German border.

On the other hand, on the Atlantic Ocean, the German High Seas Fleet was established. The German Navy built the third largest maritime force in the world at the fastest speed. Thanks to the shipyards and shipbuilding equipment of European countries occupied by Germany, especially the major British shipyards under Germany's control. After obtaining steel and shipbuilding equipment imported from the Tang Empire, the German army quickly restored the shipbuilding capabilities of major British shipbuilding yards and worked overtime to complete the construction task of hundreds of warships. It became the key to the resurrection of the German High Seas Fleet.

The huge German high seas fleet at this time had 8 large Zeppelin-class aircraft carriers, 8 Bismarck-class battleships, 12 P-class pocket battleships, 4 O-class battlecruisers, 5 heavy cruisers, 44 light cruisers of various types, 168 destroyers of various types, 90 torpedo boats of various types, 249 submarines of various types, and a total tonnage of more than 2.3 million tons.

Since the United States declared war on Germany, the US military has been fighting in Africa. Because it is difficult for the US military to find a suitable frontline base in Europe and then serve as a springboard to attack the European continent. The Tang Empire has been dragging on and in principle, it agrees that the US military borrowed the Ireland Island, which was actually controlled by the Tang Empire, as a base for landing in Britain. However, the German army deployed a large number of combat forces in the UK. Once the Tang army agreed to the US request, the German army would immediately attack the Ireland Island. The construction of various military bases of the Tang Empire on the Ireland Island also takes time to complete. It will not agree to be used by the US military before this.

In this way, although the United States has gathered millions of American troops, it has no foothold in Europe, so it has failed to launch a counterattack against Europe. Instead, it chooses to settle in Africa first, and use the British and French colonies in Africa to transfer millions of American troops. Then it fights with the German and Italian troops on the African continent.

Due to the failure of the German army in the Soviet battlefield, Hitler had to withdraw the elite German troops from Africa back to the mainland to defend the Soviet army. In this way, the Italian army became the main force on the African continent. Although the Italian army was also equipped with advanced weapons from the Tang Empire, such as the powerful single-army firepower weapon, the Italian army made it impossible to push the African continent in the years after the war began.

However, when the US military landed in Africa, the US military also spent money to obtain the production and use rights of the M1 submachine gun from the Tang Empire. The Italian army's individual firepower advantage disappeared. In turn, the US military was huge, reaching one million, and the Italian army had only 500,000 troops, and its troops were at a disadvantage.

The most important thing is the armored troops. The Italian army is only equipped with less than 700 K-type tanks, which is the foreign trade model of the Tang army's Tiger King tank. It is more than enough to deal with tanks from previous British and French troops, but the performance of the US M6 tanks is not bad. The most important thing is that the US army dispatched more than 3,000 M6 tanks to Africa.

As a result, the war broke out in Ethiopia between the US and the Italian armies. The Italian army could still fight against the US army for several rounds in the early stage. In the later stage, it would have been weak and was chased by the US army everywhere like a rabbit. If the German army had not sent the famous general Rommel to Africa to help, the Italian army would have been completely defeated.

However, although Rommel was powerful, it caused a lot of losses to the US military, but unfortunately the German army's troops were getting smaller and smaller in Africa, and the Italian army was low in combat power. The US and its British and French coalition forces quickly seized the initiative and forced the German and Italian troops to retreat to Egypt and besieged.

The US, British and French army pursued and fought relentlessly, forcing 200,000 German and Italian coalition forces to the end. They finally retreated to the Suez Canal, where they were disarmed by 5,000 Tang troops. The Tang Empire prevented the US, British and French troops from strangling the German and Italian coalition forces in the name of a neutral country, and the United States, Britain and France did not dare to cross the Suez Canal protection area designated by the Tang army.

Millions of British, French and American troops were eyeing each other nearby, and only 5,000 Tang troops stationed in the Suez Luck Zone, but they were not afraid.

On the other hand, the US envoy and officials of the Tang Empire were consulted. The United States asked the Tang Empire to disarm 200,000 German and Italian troops and not to put them back to Europe. In return, the US military was willing to pay all the expenses for managing 200,000 German and Italian coalition prisoners of war.

The Tang Empire was no longer optimistic about Germany and Italy, so it would not offend the United States at this time. So it agreed to the United States' request and rejected Hitler's request to extradite the 200,000 German and Italian troops back to Europe.

However, the Tang Empire still released Rommel and some senior German generals back, because even though they were not optimistic about Germany and were not the time to offend Germany, the Tang Empire was still selling various strategic materials to Germany and Italy to make a fortune in war.

As the US military cleared out the German and Italian troops in Africa and faced the Mediterranean, the US military began to plan to counterattack the European continent.

At this time, the US Navy had already gone to the Mediterranean. As the world's second largest naval power, the US Navy now has 16 Essex-class heavy fleet aircraft carriers, 9 independent-class light fleet aircraft carriers, 78 escort aircraft carriers, 8 Iowa super battleships, 17 battleships, 28 heavy cruisers, 29 light cruisers, 465 destroyers, and 206 submarines. There are also 18 large aircraft carriers under construction, 8 Montana super battleships, and a large number of light cruisers and destroyers. The total tonnage exceeds 4 million tons, ranking second in the world, surpassing Germany and ranking second in the world. It is still more than 2 million tons less than the total tonnage of the Tang Empire Navy, which is huge.
