Chapter 242: Looking for Wei Manwen

With fatigue, I passed through the corridor on the second floor. When I passed by Robben's room, I heard the sound of a TV from it. I thought he was asleep, so I took the spare key of his room and opened the door, ready to turn off the TV for him.

When I opened the door, I found Robben smoking a cigarette and watching the recording of a concert.

I was a little surprised and asked, "It's past three o'clock, why haven't you been sleeping yet?"

Robben bounced the ashes in his hand and said in a plain tone: "Habitual insomnia."

"Go to bed early." I said, yawning and preparing to leave.

But Robben stopped me: "Calendar with me for a while."

"I'll wash my face first."

...

After a simple washing up, I lay down on a bed next to Robben, picked up the teacup and took a sip of the calming tea, and asked, "What's wrong, are you thinking?"

Robben nodded and lit a cigarette for himself.

There will be no one in this world knows Robben better than me, so he reminded with kindness: "You shouldn't think too much when you are together."

Robben shook his head and rejected: "But some thoughts are engraved in the bones, and no matter how sharp a knife is, it cannot be cut out!"

I was silent for a while before asking, "Do you have news about that woman?"

"No, the only thing I dare not do in my life is to inquire about her."

At this moment, I felt that Robben was trapped in a world of self-presumption, unable to move forward or backward, but this knot in my heart was always about to be untied.

After another silence, I finally said to him: "How about you tell me the information about this woman and I will help you find out. No matter what, you have to untie this knot in your heart. After all, life will continue, right?"

Robben didn't say anything for a long time, but his expression was extremely struggling.

"Tell me, you will feel comfortable if you open this knot, and it is also a kind of respect for CC!"

After a long time, Robben let out a heavy breath and finally made up his mind to me, saying, "Wei Manwen, a graduate of the 2009 education major in Beijing Normal University."

"Do you know the home address?"

"She moved later and didn't know much about it."

"Do you have any friends?"

Robben shook his head: "Those common friends have basically lost contact since I arrived in Suzhou..." After a moment of pause, he said: "I have been burying my head in the sand like an ostrich, constantly telling myself: I can't find her... If it's really easy to find her news, maybe I'll go and inquire myself..."

I could understand Robben's emotions, and sighed in my heart, and then said to him: "Wei Manwen, a graduate of the 2009 education major in Beijing Normal University... I remember, just wait for my news."

Robben nodded, finally put the pillow flat and lay flat on the bed, but I was not sure if he had rested.

Turn off the light, I pillowed on my arms, remembering the conversation between Robben and me, he told me: In order to fulfill Wei Manwen's happiness, he slept with a young lady in front of Wei Manwen, just to completely cut off Wei Manwen's expectations for him. Later, Wei Manwen did leave Robben and return to Beijing because of this.

This is not such a complicated story, but it still feels thrilling when you think about it now, because the story contains too deep love and too cruel helplessness!

I'm curious about how the story develops after this: Did Wei Manwen accept her parents' arrangements to become a university teacher after returning to Beijing? Or would there be another ending?

From my perspective, I don't want other endings. The best ending of the story should be: after she returned to Beijing, she became a university teacher, found a man who loved each other and stayed together for life... And this is the best explanation to Robben, otherwise, his heart-wrenching giving up at the beginning would have no meaning.

The next day, the first thing I did when I woke up was to send Le Yao a message, sending her the information about Wei Manwen that I learned, and asked her to find this person in Beijing. I believe that with her current connections, it will not be too difficult to know her name and graduation school.

After having lunch with CC and Robben, they returned to Suzhou, and Robben would not return to Beijing for the time being, because the work in Beijing has been completed, so they stayed in Suzhou to manage the "Empty City" music restaurant and the "Fifth Season" themed bar together.

This is also good, after all, for Robben, staying in Suzhou is much better than staying in Beijing.

...

In the afternoon, the decoration company came to our inn and began to renovate some of the rooms. The boy was responsible for supervising it. I brought the "Perfect Travel Package Plan" I made last night to Afeng's bar.

It was afternoon and the bar was not open yet. Afeng and I started chatting in a quieter environment.

I handed him the plan and said, "See if this plan is feasible."

Afeng took it from me curiously and looked carefully. I was drinking beer while waiting for his reply.

About a quarter of an hour later, after Afeng finished reading the plan, he did not immediately express his opinion, but asked me: "What is the basis for your plan?"

"Customer needs... Last night I read all the domestic travel websites, and many tourists are very wary of the merchants in Xitang."

A Feng nodded in agreement and replied: "As tourist attractions, there are always some businesses who like to slaughter customers, and this is inevitable!"

"But all tourists are looking forward to having a perfect travel experience in Xitang, and the contradiction arose."

Afeng thought for a while and said, "If we can resolve this contradiction, we will get a unique business opportunity."

I nodded and said, "Yes, this contradiction cannot be solved by the customer themselves, so it provides us merchants with opportunities... My idea is to unite some businesses with reputation in Xitang, and then make the food, accommodation and sales services they provide into a package, and sell them together, so that customers can enjoy the perfect Xitang without worries with just one payment... You think: people's life is fast now, and the purpose of coming to Xitang is to relax and enjoy. We now provide such a one-click service. Is it meeting their needs? So they don't have to worry about finding inns and bars, and there is no need to worry about being cheated by unscrupulous merchants."

"It makes sense...but, some of our merchants alone cannot fully meet the needs of customers. For example, there are hundreds of snacks in Xitang, and customers will definitely want to experience as many as possible."

"This is easy to solve. As long as we buy our package, we will give additional tour guide services. Those who act as tour guides are the staff members of the participating businesses. First, they can save our labor costs; second, these staff members are also familiar with Xitang. In addition to introducing tourist attractions to tourists, they will also provide tourists with scientific consumption guides, so that they don't have to worry about meeting unscrupulous businesses and solve their worries in the true sense."

Afeng fell into thinking and clapped for a moment and said, "When I imagined myself as a tourist, I was very moved by this perfect travel plan... because it was really perfect and really worry-free!"
