Chapter Twenty-Three Fate Open
"Kapok robe?"
I muttered softly.
"Swoosh!"
The four words were out, but the three of them had a uniform movement. They turned their heads to look at me in an instant, which made me involuntarily think of the sound effect in my mind.
"Little brother, do you actually know this treasure? You are just an ordinary person, but your vision is good."
Su Pingsheng was full of surprise.
When I heard his words, it was my turn to be shocked this time.
"It's really a kapok robe?"
I replied in surprise, then shook my head and smiled bitterly, "How could I recognize this legendary treasure? I just saw you scrambling hard before, and I obviously cared about it. Now it looks ordinary when I took it out, let alone the robes, so I remembered this thing."
I have watched the rumors about the Kapok robe in film and television dramas.
I was curious at that time, so I also collected some relevant information in my spare time. The so-called kapok robe also involved the allusion of the famous Buddhist dispute over robe and bowl.
"Zen smiles when he picks up the flowers, and the stamens of Lingshan are filled with the Lingtai."
It is rumored that at the Lingshan Buddha Conference, the Buddha Lord Sakyamuni picked up a flower and said nothing. The Venerable Kashyapa broke his face and smiled, which was appreciated by the Buddha Lord. He also passed the golden robes to the Venerable Kashyapa as evidence. This robes were the Zen-fashioned kapok robes worshipped by later Buddhist disciples. It is said that this robes were made by Zhongtian cloth, and the Sanskrit word is called Bharana. It is difficult to break water and fire, and it is inseparable from swords and guns. It is the top magic weapon of Buddhism.
Later it was passed down to the 28th generation, and it was at the hands of Bodhidharma. Indian Buddhism was gradually declining and it was difficult to find its descendants. So during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Bodhidharma was ordered to cross the river with a reed to Shaolin Temple in Songshan, Henan, and became the first Zen ancestor of Zhongtu, namely Bodhidharma.
Bodhidharma faced the wall in the back mountain of Shaolin for nine years. When a monk named Shen Guang stood up in the snow and sacrificed his body to seek the Dharma, he moved Bodhidharma, so he accepted him as his disciple, gave him the name Huike, and gave him the kapok robe as a certificate for teaching the Dharma.
Huike's one-armed teaching method was famous and later revered as the second ancestor by Zen Buddhism. It was passed down from generation to generation. Zen Buddhism was recognized by the rulers and gradually had a far-reaching influence. With a broad base of believers, the kapok robe gradually became the supreme holy object. Only by obtaining it can one be considered an authentic successor. Some are similar to the beggar's sect's dog-beating stick.
I am not a Buddhist believer, and I have no intention of slandering Buddhism. I just make an analogy. I hope everyone won’t be surprised.
The story of the Dharma-Transferring the robes is very long. I will not go into details here, but just briefly explain its meaning.
According to rumors, the cassock was passed down to the fifth ancestor, Zen Master Hongren. There were many under his sects, and there were ten disciples. Before his death, he had to choose the descendants of the robe and bowl among the ten disciples, so he ordered him to write a verse. The other nine disciples all praised Shenxiu, so Shenxiu wrote a verse, "The body is a Bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror platform. Wipe it frequently at all times to avoid dust."
Hongren was not satisfied after hearing this, and told Shenxiu that his views on Buddhism were only at the door and had not entered yet.
At this time, a practitioner in the kitchen heard about this. Because he was illiterate, he asked his senior brother who knew how to read and recorded his verse, "There is no tree in Bodhi, and the mirror is not a platform. There is nothing in it, so where can dust be caused?"
This is a famous Zen monk, Huineng, who was later known as the Sixth Patriarch of Zen, who changed his Dharma name to Huineng.
Huineng was appreciated by Hongren and passed on the cassock. Hongren knew that Shenxiu would not be willing, so he warned Huineng to run away overnight and then passed away in the Zen room.
When Shenxiu learned about this, she sent someone to chase her, but everything was determined by heaven, and the pursuit naturally failed.
After more than ten years of twists and turns, the cassock flowed into Wu Zetian's hands and was also passed on to Liantai Temple. It was worshipped for a long time. Later, due to bandits, it was hidden by monks in a cave in Ziyang, and its whereabouts were unknown.
Bodhidharma's verse passed on the robe is "I was originally in this land and preached to save my delusions. One flower blooms five leaves and the fruit will naturally come true." There is a saying among them: the five leaves are the second ancestor, the third ancestor, the fourth ancestor, the fifth ancestor, the sixth ancestor, and the five ancestors. When they were passed on to the Sixth Patriarch Huineng, there was no need to pass on this robe, just pass on the Dharma.
As his verse says, after the Five Dynasties, the Kapok robe disappeared completely and it is difficult for people in the world to see him again.
I like this kind of historical records and rumors, and I admire the great wisdom of Zen monks, so I have a deep memory of these legends. But I never thought that the legendary robe could be encountered here.
This is a foregone conclusion. If the monks knew about this, they would probably try their best to find it back.
No wonder Su took this care so much in his life, I'm afraid anyone would have done this.
However, being able to obtain this treasure and treasure it to this day has made me more curious about his identity.
Qi Tianchuan remained silent, reached out to take the robes, then walked to me, and found the talisman paper covering my breath on my body and threw it on the ground.
The moment Fu Zhi left her body, Su Pingsheng's pupils suddenly shrank, completely clearly seeing me.
"The fate of a god? But it was invaded by the evil spirit. No wonder you borrow this cassock for him."
Su Pingsheng suddenly spoke.
Qi Tianchuan nodded and told me to sit down, then put his robes on me.
In an instant, the warm golden light scattered, and the blue-gray ancient robes suddenly changed. Golden threads wrapped around it, and the solemn and solemn aura scattered, making people feel calm.
I only felt warm all over my body, and the cold and powerless feeling disappeared instantly. My whole body was warm, just like taking a hot bath, which was particularly comfortable.
I looked at the cassock in surprise, and suddenly I found that the exposed palm parts of my hand had deep purple patterns, revealing a mysterious aura.
I was very surprised and looked up to ask Qi Tianchuan, but my brain suddenly felt sleepy. Before I could speak, I couldn't help but fall asleep.
I just vaguely remembered before going to bed that Qi Tianchuan looked serious and stared at me and whispered softly, "It happened, the new destiny of the gods and humans in the Dharma-Ending Age, that legend..."
...
In a daze, I seemed to have a dream.
In my dream, I became a god, flying in the sky and hiding the demons, and living a very uncomfortable life. Until suddenly, a huge and ferocious face appeared, approaching my cheeks as if teleported.
The scarlet eyes revealed endless cruelty and tyranny.
I suddenly woke up and found that I was still sitting in the same place. The robe on my body was gone, and my palms were as smooth as before. There were no patterns. It seemed that some of them were dreams, which made me unable to tell the truth and illusion.
"You're awake."
Qi Tianchuan sat next to him, spoke calmly, interrupting my contemplation.
"How does it feel?"
"Forehead……"
I scratched my head, put aside my messy thoughts, and after careful feeling, I found that my whole body was full of strength, not cold or sore, just as if the insomnia had finally had a good sleep, and my whole body was much more relaxed.
"I'm fine, well, it seems to be better than in the past."
I said in surprise.
"It seems pretty good. The kapok robe is worthy of being a legendary treasure. It not only drives away the evil spirits in your body, but also helps you open your fate." Qi Tianchuan said.
"Open the fate? What does it mean?"
I looked at him in confusion.
"Simply put, you can understand the foundation building in the novel "Xingxianxia", but now you are in the Dharma-Ending Age, and you have opened your destiny, and you don't know whether it is good or bad." Qi Tianchuan's expression was a little complicated.
"Okay, no matter how much you say, you won't understand, but you can practice now. Let's go. I'll give you the Taoist scriptures when you go back. You can understand them well. In the future, I don't have to do everything for my parents."
Qi Tianchuan stood up after saying that.
I stood up in confusion, and then I realized that there were only two of us in the room, Su Pingsheng and Wang Zheng were gone.
"Where are the two of them?"
I asked.
"You have been sleeping for three days. Wang Zheng has something to do and can't wait to go back first. As for the old guy, the place where he settled was discovered, how dare he stay there? He had already run away."
Qi Tianchuan said calmly.
"It's been three days?"
I was extremely surprised, "Why did I feel like I've only been in a while? And I don't feel hungry now."
I reached out and touched my stomach, without any hunger.
"Hey, it's normal not to be hungry for life. That's because you haven't practiced yet, and you'll know when the time comes..."
Qi Tianchuan smiled evilly, without saying much, and took the lead in walking out.
I followed him quickly, with countless questions lingering in my heart, so I asked for answers, but this guy didn't say anything. In desperation, I could only raise my middle finger to him and stop asking.
After leaving the door, there was no rockery and the manor disappeared. We actually came directly to the path halfway up the mountain. Looking back, there were no thatched houses or fences, and only a pile of scattered weeds, swaying in the wind.
I sighed in my heart, and went down the mountain with Qi Tianchuan back to the car, then rushed back to Yanjing and went straight to the store.
Qi Tianchuan took out a thick book from the cabinet and threw it to me, told me to study it carefully, and then left alone.
It was like a poor worm abandoned by the world, and I was once again left in the empty room.
Bored, I opened the book cover and took a look, but was immediately attracted by the content.
This book has no name, but it records the various ways of drawing various talismans, including Taoist artifacts, ghost division, zombies, witchcraft, breathing operation, etc., which is simply a hodgepodge of the supernatural world.
According to the techniques recorded in it, I imagined that the breath was running in the meridians, and I actually found that a stream of energy was flowing in my body. Under surprise, I gradually immersed in it and practiced several times without realizing it.
When it was dark, I was awakened by a feeling of hunger.
As if I had been hungry for seven or eight days in a row, I felt like I could even eat an elephant.
I quickly made a meal, and then I found that this was not fake. I actually ate eight large bowls of rice in one meal and steamed two pots in a row before I was barely satisfied. This is my usual meal volume for nearly three days.
And now, after a meal is gone, I just feel a little full.
I couldn't help but think of Qi Tianchuan's smirk, "Is this the sequelae of cultivation?"
I thought in my heart.
Of course, I would not be scared by the poison of immortals and the delusion of becoming an immortal. I would not be scared, and I would still follow the route of the martial arts and continue to run. In my spare time, I would also look at the ways of using other magical methods.
For several days, I was deeply immersed in it.
I realized that when I watched these things, my brain would always become very clear and easily integrated. I even tried some simple talisman effects several times and could easily use them.
