Chapter 1 The Remnants of the Alliance

The sun is shining brightly today and the sky is clear. It is a rare good weather, suitable for an outing. However, the thick smoke and rumbling sound of the steam train make this idea seem inappropriate.

Accompanied by the huge whistle, the train stopped slowly. Only then did Sheffield, whose eyes were dull, come back to his senses from his wandering state, and interrupted his imagination for an unknown number of times. Was he dreaming?

"Master, why don't you get out of the car and take a walk when you stop?" Across from Sheffield, a muscular man asked.

"We're home soon, what else can we do? Help us buy a newspaper." As one of the few entertainment items in this era, he has developed the habit of reading newspapers in the past sixteen years, even though he did not have this habit in his previous life.

The train's arrival at the station was just an interlude. Along with the flow of people, the familiar whistle sounded again and the train started slowly. Under the cover of the whistle, Sheffield, who was already holding the newspaper, looked at the title and asked, "Am I dreaming?"

In Sheffield's not-so-long life, he had asked himself this question many times, and now the headline in the newspaper made him ask himself again. The front page of the newspaper focused on the recent Brazilian Civil War. Why didn't he remember such a thing in his previous life?

One thing? What’s more, it’s 1895.

Even in the United States of America where he is now, there are many differences from the lighthouse country he knew. For example, his current destination, Arlington, Sheffield knows about Arlington National Cemetery, which will be famous in later generations.

In Washington, in the northern United States, that is where American soldiers return.

But next to his home, there is a military cemetery with the same name, and the soldiers buried in it are Confederate soldiers from the Civil War. He can guarantee that this Texas cemetery never existed in his previous life.

Historically, Texas did not shine in the Civil War, let alone the emergence of a Texas regiment. But this regiment appeared, and the commander of the regiment was his grandfather in this life, Edward Sheffield.

Even if Sheffield is slow, sixteen years is enough time to figure out where this specious historical root lies. The root is his so-called grandfather, a guy who planted cotton in Louisiana in his early years.

Sheffield has never met this time-traveling senior. He was injured during the Civil War and died after the war. The current leader of the Sheffield family is his grandmother Annabell.

Sheffield secretly swallowed a smear when he thought of this family old man who was always unsmiling and dressed in black. This grandmother was a ruthless character who was not easy to deal with. She was stubborn and stubborn to a fault.

After getting off the train, Sheffield found the carriage waiting outside the station without any guidance at all. The Sheffield family's carriage was easy to find. Two giant Shire horses, rare in the world, were in front of the carriage. He didn't know why he wanted to use it.

This giant horse-drawn carriage seems to be used for plowing the fields.

However, in a place like Texas where big is beautiful, it has played an extraordinary role and attracted a lot of attention from tourists. The Shire horse is the largest horse breed in the world. It is native to the British Isles and was an early breed of the British horse.

An important tool for agriculture, industry, transportation, and transportation, this horse can pull up to five tons of weight.

As for the carriage Sheffield was riding in, the two horses were both about two meters high at the shoulders. Their huge bodies were like hills, with thin horsehair growing on their wrists. They looked very cool, and many people passing by were amazed.

I couldn't help but take a second look.

This kind of waiting and watching also stayed on the coachman. This coachman was a black man, less than twenty years old. Facing this kind of gaze, he not only did not dodge at all, but took it calmly, which was completely different from the average black man who was afraid of white people.

"Martin, you've been waiting for a long time!" Sheffield greeted this black young man very skillfully, but every time he saw this young man, he felt a little bit in his heart. Before the Civil War, the names of these black people who were sold to the United States,

Naturally, it was named by the owner, and so was the black ancestor in front of him. However, his grandfather obviously had a bad taste. Three generations of this black family were named Martin Luther King, which is quite dark humor.

Black humor goes far beyond that. This young man's father is a mayor, and he became the only black mayor in the United States a hundred years ahead of schedule. He has searched all cities in the United States, and now he is the only one.

After the Civil War, this was the most resolute decision his grandfather made. Of course, this operation did not exist in isolation. Martin's relatives were in a country called Liberia. As early as before the Civil War, there was a movement to repatriate black freedmen in the United States.

Movement, many black people were deported to Liberia, the history is very clear.

After the Civil War, the Sheffield family quickly took over the immigration, which was not yet large-scale at the time. They quickly replaced the original minority with blacks under their own control and took control of the spokesperson of the United States in Africa. They even changed the stars and stripes of Liberia.

It became similar to the Confederate cross flag.

It sounds simple, but there must be many unknown details to be able to accomplish such a thing in this era. It is definitely not easy. This also reflects the strength of the Sheffield family during the Civil War.

After doing this, Edward ended his life, which he now concluded was a constant stumbling block for the United States. It directly led to the current Sheffield, which is very strange when looking at the human beacon.

How different is the current United States of America from the same period in history because of the two extra years of the Civil War? Has it become stronger or weaker? How much weaker has it become? Because he has never been out of Texas, so he has not yet

Judgment by law. However, as an important part of the losers of the Southern Confederacy, the Sheffield family was not liquidated, which shows that the Northern Confederacy at that time really had no energy left to pursue the case.

But the difference in Texas can still be seen in Sheffield. In addition to setting up a place for black people to experiment with autonomy, it is actually a variant of apartheid. The carriage carrying Sheffield just passed by a church, which is very common.

, it is normal for Texas people to be conservative, but this church is Orthodox.

Before the Civil War, Texas had only tens of thousands of residents, and the Lone Star Republic of Austin and Houston only had this population until Edward Sheffield moved from New Orleans, Louisiana. This had to be

It mentioned that the old grandmother Annabell, who is now in power in the Sheffield family, uses the strength of the whole family to buy and sell people from various European countries to support her husband's immigration work.

This has led to the fact that nearly one-third of the current population of Texas is Eastern Europeans. Eastern Europeans have never seen Africans due to environmental reasons. Naturally, they tended to side with the South in the Civil War.

Of course, all these operations must be based on one basic condition: money! Annabelle’s family is actually in the transportation industry. In New Orleans, the center of the South before the Civil War, there was a huge fleet of ships traveling between the two sides of the Atlantic. The buying and selling of people itself was the capital.

OK, it's just a shift from Africa to Europe.
