Chapter 676(1/2)
In the principal's office, the Phoenix whispered in Dumbledore's ear.
"Gellert was taken away? Well... those people have a bad attitude, Fox, we can't expect everyone to think the same as theirs. They're just doing business." Dumbledore comforted softly, Fox lowered his head so that he could touch his feathers.
Felix brushed through the air in front of him, and a mirror appeared out of thin air.
Magic symbols flashed at the edge of the mirror, and the mirror surface was like water waves. It penetrated the layers of fog and reflected a still picture: it was a piece of grass, with a huge weaving snake hanging in the air.
Dumbledore stared in the mirror and after a moment he cheered up.
"Felix, now we are the only two of us. While Harry still needs some time, I have something to say to you."
Felix glanced at Fox in a restless mood, which shrank pitifully.
"It just so happens that I have something to ask - is it worth it, Albus?"
Dumbledore smiled relaxedly.
"Just a year ago, almost this time, Voldemort asked me the same question." He looked at the scene in the mirror and said with some difficulty: "My answer is the same as it was then: worth it."
Felix frowned.
"I thought you would come up with a better way, rather than just one life for another...plus two soul projections."
"This is a necessary price, for... for the greater good."
"I can't think of any 'interest' greater than a great wizard." Felix said calmly: "You showed me that prophecy, and you know better than me how important a great wizard is in the current situation."
"But the question is, what do people need me?" Dumbledore said lightly: "Wisdom? Force? Reputation? I am afraid that even if I am intact, I will not be able to meet their expectations."
"You did it half a century ago." Felix raised the volume slightly, "I remember calling you the 'protector of Muggle and Muggle-born wizards'."
Dumbledore smiled bitterly.
"You said too - just protecting people, not anything else. You should know what happened to me - my sister became a silent man, my poor father died in Azkaban, and my mother lost her life to take care of Ariana - knowing the root of all this pain. Felix, I was full of resentment at the time, and I hoped to understand the meaning of this word, so I hit it off with Gellert. At that time, I was no less dangerous than Gellert!"
Felix let out a gentle breath and dispelled the chill in his heart.
"Are you afraid to be the second Grindelwald?"
"Yes, I'm afraid." Dumbledore said frankly, "Only I know how close I am to the step I'm going to take. I didn't think of abusing Muggles, but I've made accusation that some innocent people would be hurt. This number became bigger and bigger when I discussed with Garrett, but I numbed my conscience with empty reasons. So reality gave me a heavy blow. I woke up, but the price was too great... So I reminded myself that I can't have rights, only the school is suitable for me."
"In the years that followed, I protected the little wizards from Muggle family as much as possible, opposing the abuse of Muggle and against war. Have you noticed that, Felix? All this happened naturally when the Secretariat Act is working normally. But what if this is the opposite? If the tragedy that happened to me appears again and again before me, if I have the right to control the world, can I still maintain a clear and rational mind? Losing wisdom, force and reputation are harmful."
Tears slid from the tip of his nose.
Felix's heart seemed to be blocked by something.
A moment of silence. At this moment, Harry appeared in the picture, staring up at the Ourobosnake in the air - he could clearly sense that this huge patron saint had some of his magic and emotions.
Dumbledore reached out, "I think it's time to transfer the spell."
"Is it still time?" Felix asked in a low voice.
He looked into the mirror, Harry in the picture waved his wand, and the huge wetubesnake twisted, and for a stalemate, the wetubesnake suddenly collapsed and scattered into a silver rain of light. Like the morning mist in the mountains and forests, it was shining by the sunlight and turned into nothing in an instant.
"Enough, it's actually very simple." Dumbledore nodded slightly, "but when the spell is transferred, I must first remove my magic and then replace it with yours. It may take several hours."
"Then let's start." Felix said lowering his eyes, knowing that he had taken a heavy responsibility from Dumbledore.
...
Time goes back a quarter of an hour ago, something that has a profound impact in the future is about to happen.
"Ron? Hermione? Why are you here?" Harry shook Snape's greasy hair uncomfortable and was surprised to see the two people trotting upstairs.
Ron was dumbfounded, obviously not expecting to run into Snape. Hermione stammered: "Yes, sorry, Professor Snape, we want to come and have a look-oh, I mean, we have maintained order as the professors told me, and now all the lower graders are returning to the lounge, and only a few of the upper graders are still in the auditorium, and they are unwilling to leave-"
Harry blinked, and he almost forgot that he was now pressing against Snape's face.
"I understand." He said calmly. After that, he continued to walk down.
"It's incredible that I escaped like this!" Ron patted his chest and said fearfully, "I thought I would definitely accept punishment. If I was imprisoned, the last part of the semester would be ruined - what's wrong with you, Hermione?"
Hermione stared blankly at the corner of the stairs, where Harry had just disappeared.
"It's so strange that Professor Snape actually called our name."
"Oh! It's a bit strange to say that." Ron scratched his head, "but we'd better meet with Harry first. Even if we can't see him, we can ask other professors for the situation."
"Okay, you're right," said Hermione, and the two continued to go upstairs.
At the same time, in a room with doors and windows on the second floor of the castle, Professor McGonagall kept twisting his fingers in the dark, and occasionally glanced at the unconscious person on the sofa - not long ago, they were colleagues.
Knock!
The knock on the door woke her up. She took out the lace handkerchief and wiped her eyes, took a deep breath, and returned to her usual solemn and serious appearance. Then she opened the office door and stood Professor Sprout outside.
"Pomona, you're back! Oh, and you guys, please come in-"
Professor Sprout walked in and exchanged a look with McGonagall. A dark-skinned man, who looked no longer young, had a serious face, and the wrinkles on his forehead were curved in the same arc as the corners of his drooping mouth. He was wearing a dark blue wizard robe with a brooch on his collar. When he walked in and took off his hat, his grey curled hair was tightly pressed against the top of his head.
Before Professor Sprout could introduce him, he took the initiative to extend his hand.
"Hello, I'm Babajid Akinbad."
Professor McGonagall was slightly surprised, "The new president of the International Wizards' Federation?" Babajid nodded. At this time, four wizards in formal clothes and looked very capable, also came in. "They are members of the law enforcement team I brought, responsible for this escort operation - Rodney." He said calmly, a middle-aged wizard walked to the sofa and lit up his wand to check on the unconscious Grindelwald.
"Get out of here, you ugly bird." said the team member, Fox, who acted as the light source in the room, stared at him dissatisfiedly.
Professor McGonagall frowned.
"Can you turn on the light?" said Babajid. "The light is a little dim. My team members may not be able to see clearly."
Professor McGonagall pursed her lips and said nothing. She took out her wand and waved it. The soft light fell from the ceiling, and the office suddenly became very bright.
"Magic lamp?" Babajid said with interest: "I have always wanted to find an opportunity to talk to Mr. Hepp about that storied... and of course Dumbledore, I hope to listen to his wisdom, but the matter is important."
Sprout suddenly screamed, and the two turned to look, and Sprout stuttered, "He, he used a stinging spell."
"Mr. Akinbad, your law enforcement process is too rough. This is abuse." Professor McGonagall said with a straight face.
"No, this is a necessary examination, professor." The team member said with a grin, and he raised his head, "No problem! He slept very heavily, and then it was a restraining spell, a confinement spell, a whisper spell-I've read an internal information that said he was so sensible-"
Babajid cleared his throat, "Rodney, follow the plan, you don't need to show your eloquence here." Rodney stopped talking, but took out his shiny handcuffs and shackles and put them on Grindelwald.
One team member pushed open the door, and the other raised his wand and pointed at Grindelwald. Under the influence of handcuffs and shackles, Grindelwald's body floated in the air, with his head and limbs hanging down weakly.
"Mr. Akinbad," said Professor McGonagall solemnly: "I don't know if Dumbledore told you, but he hopes that the whole process will be kept strictly confidential, especially not to restore his consciousness."
Babajid replied calmly, "What you said makes sense."
He drew a curve in the air with his wand, and Grindelwald's face was covered with a black mask. Seeing that Professor McGonagall wanted to say something, he smiled: "Okay, professor, take me to see Dumbledore. Leave professional matters to them, these young men deal with the most dangerous prisoners all year round."
Professor McGonagall's lips were pursed into a slit, and she walked at the end. When everyone went out, she stood at the door and looked at Phoenix, "Thank you, Fox. You can go back." Fox nodded at her, spread his wide wings, and his body burned. Then Professor McGonagall closed the office door.
A ball of fire shone through the crack of the door to her feet, and then it disappeared again.
"Is that a Phoenix?" Babajid said suddenly in surprise, "I didn't see it just now."
"It's called Fox," said Professor McGonagall absent-mindedly, "Mr. Akinbad, there's one thing you may not know--President Dumbledore has submitted his resignation to the school board, just today...ah, he, he can't wait to start a trip," she sniffed, "I'm not sure if you can see him."
They walked through the corridor to the spiral stairs, and a noise came from the downstairs. "What happened?" Professor Sprout asked in confusion. She glanced downstairs, and suddenly a silver transparent head appeared from the steps, which scared her.
"Kill people! Someone is killing people!" Pipi Ghost shouted excitedly while whistling loudly.
Professor McGonagall shouted, "What's going on, Pipi? Are you playing tricks?" Pipi was startled. He was a little afraid of Professor McGonagall, so he replied in a slick tone:
"There was a conflict, professor, little crybag to a few adults, magic wand to a wand," Pipig said seriously, "I was about to tell Felch that maybe his little stick could separate people-"
"Little crybag? Student?" Professor McGonagall's eyebrows were tightly twisted, and she hurriedly ran downstairs.
"Yes, that Longbottom - but he is not as fun as he was in grade one or two now." Pipi Ghost chased her and said, pretending to step on the stairs and keeping his tumbling, humming along the way. "Shut up, Pipi Ghost!" Professor McGonagall turned around and shouted. She had already arrived at the first floor, and the foyer was surrounded.
I don't know who shouted "Professor McGonagall is here!" The crowd separated from both sides, allowing Professor McGonagall to see the two sides facing each other. On one side, there are naturally four members of the law enforcement team of the International Wizards Federation, and on the other side-
"Longbaton! Abbot! Fenigan! Thomas! Goldstein! Greengrass!" Professor McGonagall shouted out names in anger, holding a wand in their hands, and then she turned to the other side, "And you two, Weasley and Lovegood, what do you want to do?"
The students who were named were embarrassedly hanging down the tip of their sticks, and they looked at one person at the same time - it turned out to be Navigable.
"Mr. Longbottom, did you do all this? Give me a reason." Professor McGonagall's chest was fluctuating violently.
"I want to know who they are?" Neville blushed and pointed at the four International Wizards' law enforcement team members and shouted: "Hannah and I came out of the auditorium and saw them dragging one person downstairs very rudely. Although they were covered in their faces, I recognized it as Professor Basharat. I clearly remember the patterns on his clothes and pants!"
"They are law enforcement officials of the International Wizards' Federation." Professor McGonagall said weakly, "Mr. Longbottom, you are too impulsive."
"That's because you didn't see what they did?" Neville shouted, his eyes red. "They, they-" He stuttered in his anger.
Hannah Aibo held his hand and said in his place:
"Professor McGonagall, we really don't know the identities of these people, but they just didn't look like law enforcement officers, like villains who broke into the school. They made Professor Basharat's knee hit the steps and his head hang on the ground! You know, Neville respects Professor Basharat very much... and asked a few questions, and was attacked with a spell."
The students were immediately indignant.
Professor McGonagall widened his eyes and turned to look at the four law enforcement team members. They stood there expressionlessly. At this time, Babajid walked over and asked seriously: "Rodney, is this student's words true?"
"It seems like that." Rodney curled his lips, "Who can explain why so many students speak for a black wizard who does everything he wants?"
"What evidence do you have to say that?" a student shouted indignantly.
"Evidence?" Rodney said contemptuously: "You don't know what he did when he was young, if it weren't for someone to protect-"
"Rodney!" Babajid shouted sternly.
He looked around, thought for a moment and said, "Please allow me to introduce myself to everyone: Babajid Akinbad, the current president of the International Wizards Federation--" The students around him looked at him in surprise, and then looked at Professor McGonagall confirmation, and she nodded gently.
To be continued...
