Chapter 618 Unusual Dinner Party(1/2)
Chapter 618 An unusual dinner
On September 1st, it was raining in the evening.
The Hogwarts Express train enters Hogsmead Station.
Ron and Hermione had to maintain order on the muddy road in the rain, carrying the little wizards who were overly excited to the carriage. Harry deliberately slugged and waited until the platform was almost empty before he found the opportunity to sneak out. Therefore, they were almost the last group to enter the carriage.
"Oh, those little guys are so bad," Ron complained, "I suddenly want to eat French food, where are you?"
"Anything is OK," Hermione said tiredly.
The carriage moved, and it was cloudy outside, and the light was darker than usual. The rain hit the roof of the carriage and rolled into the carriage, causing Harry to shivering. The carriage finally stopped beside the stone steps leading to the oak gate. Hermione, who had been dozing off, woke up and jumped out of the carriage, "Hurry up, you two!"
"She's absolutely hungry," Ron said to Harry in a low voice.
The three of them merged into the crowd, stomping the stone steps with water accumulation. The bright foyer was far away. Harry couldn't wait to sit in the auditorium to enjoy the food. The idea injected a hint of heat into his cold body, and he climbed up the last few steps in one breath.
A pair of shoes blocked his way...
Harry looked up and looked at Professor Happ's stiff face without any extra expression. An inexplicable fear came, causing his internal organs to hurt. Ron and Hermione turned around in surprise and looked at them.
"Teacher, professor?" Harry swallowed.
"Harry, stay after the dinner. Principal Dumbledore and I are going to take you to a place." Felix said, blew the cold wind at the door for nearly half an hour, almost thinking Harry missed the train.
Valen's hair was soaked, and in the end he couldn't stand it, so he ran to the auditorium.
Harry opened his mouth and swallowed what he was going to say, "Okay."
Felix nodded at him and took him to the auditorium. "Professor?" Felix stopped and looked at Harry. Harry was trembling with cold, "What preparation should I do..."
"No, oh, it's better to bring your wand."
Harry walked into the auditorium with heavy steps.
The dining table was in a mess. When he sat down, Ron and Hermione handed over a puzzled look. Harry shook his head. He couldn't help looking at the professor's seat. Professor Hepp was whispering something to President Dumbledore over Professor McGonagall's empty chair. President Dumbledore nodded seriously.
His heart sinks little by little.
"I've already told Harry, wait for the dinner to end..."
"I get it." Dumbledore said in a deep voice. He picked up a fork and knocked on the goblet. The crisp sound of pounding echoed in the auditorium. The noise gradually subsided. The students focused their eyes on the professor's seat. Some people who had only cared about chatting with their classmates before discovered the abnormality.
"Two new professors!" Semo said in surprise. He counted one by one by one according to subject, with a puzzled look on his face, "How come one more person..."
“Professor McGonagall is empty!”
...
"Sitting next to Snape is Mr. Slughorn, and sitting next to Professor Heip is Mr. Basharat," Harry whispered.
Hermione took a light breath, looking a little uneasy.
"What's wrong?"
"The number of chairs does not match, one more is available-"
At this time, the door leading to the hall opened, and Professor McGonagall led a row of little wizards in and asked them to line up in front of the staff table. Then, she placed a dirty hat on a small round stool and stood by and waited.
The branch hat sang loudly:
I have worn it on the head of the most outstanding duel,
Although not given life at that time;
I am older than anything in the castle,
But don't think I will never change.
The four founders of the Great School,
Their deeds have been passed down for thousands of years;
Who else in the world knows them enough?
Think about who carried their thoughts!
Godric Gryffindor, an invincible duel,
Royna Ravenclaw, her wisdom is beyond her reach,
Helga Hufflepuff, generous and kind,
Salazar Slytherin, smart and useless means.
Although the body has decayed,
But their philosophy reappears in the students;
The four colleges have emerged in many talents.
Together, make Hogwarts famous.
But I want to pour a basin of cold water on you,
A single thought can only fight for each other.
Courage and recklessness are inseparable from each other,
Wisdom and arrogance are intimate,
Mercy and weakness always transform each other,
Smartness and selfishness are only a difference between one thought.
I'm standing in front of you now,
Let me be honest with you that past;
I have fulfilled my duties and told me bluntly—
Now let's start the branch office.
The branch hat was motionless after he finished speaking. The pause button was pressed in the auditorium, and a few seconds later, there was a sparse applause. The students whispered, "This is the first time I heard the branch hat criticize the thoughts of the four colleges." Ron said in surprise.
"But it does have the qualifications," said Harry, applauding with everyone, although he was a little surprised.
Usually the school hat only gives the qualities that the four colleges value and praises the four founders (sometimes exceptions to Slytherin). Last year was different, and it gave a warning for the first time, hoping that students would be united, but this was because Voldemort was eyeing outside the school.
Now that the war is over, Ginny even bets with Ron on the train that the Sorting Hat will sing a numb praise on people coming out of the shadow of war this year.
Professor McGonagall was also a little stunned. She cleared her throat hard, and the whispering sounds below stopped abruptly. She took out a long list of freshmen and read out the names above one by one.
"Tuls Ellimo."
"It's very distinctive." Grindelwald lowered his hand and said softly in the professor's seat.
Felix smiled slightly, his eyes swept across the auditorium, and the students and professors responded to the song of the school hats. For example, Slughorn, who had been loudly tying with many professors, now he said nothing and frowned.
He glanced at Dumbledore and stared at Grindelwald in no trace, and the walrus beard trembled.
Maybe it was to measure whether he was at a loss in his heart... Felix thought secretly. He knew that Dumbledore had used teaching and providing asylum as an excuse to win over Slughorn, but Voldemort had not yet fallen at that time, and Slughorn did not want to expose himself to the open.
Now that the war is over, the cunning old walrus can finally be suppressed.
However, this also brought a benefit. Severus finally got his wish and got the position he liked.
“…Toby Gilbert.”
Felix glanced at the school hat and keenly captured the focus of this year's school hat song - the same as last year - calling on students to unite. But the two are different. Last year was because of foreign enemies, and this year may be due to internal reasons.
Did the Sorting Hat hear anything from Dumbledore?
He looked at Grindelwald, who was very excited and contented, and thought that the direction was quite obvious. The old man had severely shrunk and could only talk. Although Felix had joked about Grindelwald with this year's book singles for the Dark Magic Defense Arts class, he did not think that the Dark King, who had once determined to rule the Muggles, would easily surrender to his concept of peace.
It's almost the same to use his book as a target for criticism.
Felix had already made up his mind that he would have to go over and listen to two classes when he had time. His book was written with great effort and could not be interpreted randomly by Grindelwald.
“—Hubard Zenobiya.”
"Slytherin!"
The branch ceremony finally ended. Professor McGonagall came over and wanted to pick up the branch hat and chair - "Please wait a moment, Minerva." Dumbledore suddenly spoke, Professor McGonagall stood there and asked hesitantly: "Albus?"
Dumbledore stood up quickly and walked lightly. He smiled and said, "I was just a little curious about what college I would be assigned to if it were now." He picked up the school hat, turned his arms and put it on his head, and sat on the small stool with some funny feeling.
The auditorium suddenly became boiling.
Although they were so hungry that they were roaring, the students stood up one after another, tiptoed and looked forward. "He was crazy!" Hermione shouted. "No, this is normal!" Harry and Ron said in unison, and all the students looked at Dumbledore without blinking.
"What do you think he wants to do?"
"I don't know, but if the branch hat assigned him to another college, I'll have fun!"
"Maybe that's exactly what he wants!"
Dumbledore sat properly on the small bell, his long white beard dragging on the floor. He closed his eyes and seemed to be communicating with the branch hat. Because the brim of the branch hat opened in a frustration, it shouted loudly: "This is not in accordance with the rules, Dumbledore!"
"Oh, don't do this... be more comfortable..." Dumbledore whispered, only Professor McGonagall heard this sentence. Her lips were pursed in a line, her fingers kept opening and closing, and she was worried about whether to force the separator hat to remove Dumbledore's head.
She couldn't tell which thing would turn into a scandal... so she could only stay in place, her chest fluctuating violently.
After a minute or two, the Sorting Hat reluctantly shouted the word "Gryffindor".
To be continued...
