Chapter 470 Time and the hourglass

In the last week of May, Professor McGonagall kept them after Transformation class.

"Potter, Weasley, Granger, you guys go to the room next to the auditorium below at 9 o'clock tonight," Professor McGonagall told them, "Mr. Bagman is going to tell the Warriors what the third project is."

After coming out of the transformation class classroom, they stood in the corridor and looked towards the forbidden forest, a group of staff were passing through the venue.

"What are they going to do?" Harry asked in confusion. "Looking at the direction is to go to Quidditch Stadium."

They stayed for a few minutes, and the men turned a corner in front of Quidditch Stadium and walked along the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Harry breathed a sigh of relief. Ten minutes before the magic history class, they hurried to the classroom.

When the bell rang, Professor Ghost Bins floated in through the wall, giving lectures in a monotonous and boring voice for decades.

"Even the food in Classroom 7 can't save him," Ron said.

Harry seemed very upset. He was eager to know what the third event was. After so long, he was more confident than the previous two games, but his focus was undoubtedly shifted to other places.

Should I ask where Hermione got Voldemort's information? He couldn't help but think, and at the same time imagined that after knowing the source of the information, he could take advantage of the summer vacation to investigate. Sirius would definitely not refuse this request. He could help him cover it, so the Ministry of Magic could not determine whether he was using magic outside the school...

Harry looked at the watch, and the watch had stopped. He turned his head to look at Ron to ask about time. Ron had a blank expression on his face, his head bit by bit. Harry didn't want to disturb Ron's dream. He took off his broken watch and stuffed it into his pocket. When he touched a hard object with his fingertips, he took it out and saw that it was a gray hourglass.

That was exchanged for him by Valen. He forgot that he had hidden it in the deepest part of his pocket.

Harry stared at the dark golden gravel solidified in the hourglass, thinking about his thoughts alone.

He suddenly came up with an idea. Harry was surprised by the idea, and he looked around and no one looked at him, so Harry quickly took out a piece of parchment paper, wrote a line of words on it and handed it to Hermione, who was concentrating on taking notes.

This is also what made Harry admire. Although Hermione also found the course of magic history boring, she could always listen and use this knowledge at the right time. At this time, Hermione looked at the parchment that suddenly appeared in the magic history textbook, and she bulged her cheeks in dissatisfaction.

Ha used her eyes to signal her to look at the words above. Hermione lowered her head and read them. The small words on it said: "Did you bring that abandoned time converter?"

Hermione nodded slightly, drooping her head lower, pulling a slender gold chain out of her collar. Harry widened his eyes and watched her place a gold timer on parchment and gently pushing him.

"Thank you." Harry murmured in a low voice, unable to wait to pick up the gold timer. According to Hermione, the intact time converter will glow, but the one in front of him looks very old. Its core is a spherical hourglass at both ends, with a few circles of metal ring brackets on the outside, and there are knobs that can be adjusted at the edges.

Harry took a deep breath, held his breath, put the gray hourglass and the time converter together, and was surprised to find that the heights of the two hourglass were almost exactly the same. It was exactly the same... Can it be replaced? He broke the time converter hard and tried to remove the hourglass on it, and the hourglass did not move at all.

He had no choice but to stop and dare not continue to exert force. Harry raised his head guiltily, but ended up meeting Hermione's shocked eyes.

"How did you think of it?"

Hermione couldn't wait to ask when she was over. They had just come out of the magic history class. In the last half hour, Hermione forgot about Professor Bince on the podium for the first time - "The giants are cruel by nature, and they killed each other more than other reasons combined..." - He only kept looking at the hourglass in Harry's hand and the broken time converter, his eyes flashed with light.

"I don't know either. It's just... a flash of inspiration?" Harry said innocently, Ron looked at the two of them with some unknown understanding.

They finished their meal quickly and walked through the communal lounge door, and Fred and George were selling a new product with their good friend Lee Jordan, which was a hat-shaped thing that Harry would certainly come over to check out, and the twins’ products were usually fun – as long as they didn’t have to be on him.

But today they passed by the crowd, turned a deaf ear to the surrounding amazement, and walked directly to the hidden corner. At Hermione's gesture, Harry took out the hourglass and the gold timer, and he deliberately put them together, especially two different hourglasses.

"Hiss~" Ron took a breath. "It shouldn't be-"

"Yeah, we think so," Hermione said excitedly, "I didn't pay any attention to it before! Although they were about the same size... but who would have thought of putting them together? A black wizard from ancient Greek from thousands of years ago, and a late alchemist Nicole Lemay."

Ron picked up the gray hourglass and shook it hard. The dark golden substance inside solidified into a lump and stuck to the inner wall of the glass without moving. "Other than a little," he said, "they are all bad. Hermione, you are wasting your efforts, you said it yourself, Professor Hayp has checked."

"Oh, oh..." Hermione said perfunctorily, "but Professor Hepp should not know that Valen had secretly taken the fairy hourglass. In his impression, he had asked Valen to return everything."

Harry's heart pounded, and he suddenly realized that if the gold timer could be fixed, they would have a time converter that was not restricted by the Ministry of Magic, although he didn't know what to do, Hermione had mentioned a bunch of restrictions before.

But if an accident really happens, just like that time on the bridge, if Hermione hadn't had the time converter in hand and found Professor Hepp to save the situation in time, they might have died one or two people, at least Petty Peter would have escaped.

Harry acted very concerned about this matter, "We'll give it a try at least! What if it succeeds?"

"The question is, how should we disassemble..." Hermione said with a frown.

"Yes, we don't have tools, does Hogsmeade have a store selling pliers?" Harry asked.

"Don't be stupid," said Hermione. "It's more sophisticated than anything you've ever seen, and it's definitely not something that a pliers or screwdriver can solve... Let me think about it," she repeatedly looked at the broken gold timer and said to herself: "No... it's definitely not something we can handle unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless we can get research materials from our predecessors," Hermione said decisively.

"You mean-" Ron glared at her.

"This broken time converter once belonged to Nico Lemay. The professor mentioned that Mr. Nico Lemay left a lot of things. I think, well, if the professor allowed Valen to give the broken time converter, he shouldn't mind us looking through some information..."

"Wouldn't we just ask Professor Hayp for help?" Ron asked in confusion, reminding him: "This is the fastest way."

"Of course," Hermione said seriously, "but we have to at least produce some evidence, right?"

At 8:30 pm, they came out of the lounge and walked downstairs to the auditorium. Along the way, Ron asked Harry about the appearance of the screwdriver. Harry first explained the purpose of the screws and explained different types of screwdrivers. "There is a tool box containing tools of various sizes, which can also unscrew the nuts-"

"What is that?" Ron asked in surprise. "Dad will definitely like it. He collected a drawer switch."

In the foyer, they met the warrior of Busbaton. Fleur greeted Harry enthusiastically, leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. Ron showed an expression of expectation on his face, and Hermione snorted dissatisfiedly, and the expressions on the faces of the two boys were dizzy.

When he came to his senses, Harry found himself sitting on the sofa in the room next to the auditorium. The big man in Vagad was laughing at him silly. It was so strange, how did he sit down? He had no memory of his experience passing through the auditorium.

"...My sister Gabrie will come next month and be with her parents. A few days ahead of the third project..." Fleur said happily, Harry looked left and right, Ron sat with him, and looked at Fleur with equal obsession. Where is Hermione? The next second he saw Hermione, and she sat with Collins.

They waited until almost ten o'clock and the lights were about to go out, when Bagman walked in.

He was wearing a pair of yellow overalls, looking like a large baby outfit, and he looked quite tired, with short blonde hair stuck to his forehead with sweat. He forced himself to lift his spirits and stretched out his hands, looking at the warriors in the room.

"Hello!" he said.

"First of all, I want to congratulate everyone. Yes, yes, the game has finally arrived at the final stage. I think it is something to celebrate whether it is for you or me." Bagman wiped the sweat on his forehead. "To be honest, I'm exhausted recently. I just communicated with the staff about the competition venue today. There are too many problems. Fortunately, Hagrid helped me out..." Harry and Ron exchanged a terrified look.

"When the game is over, I must apply for a leave... Ahem, let's get back to the point, the third event-" He blinked, "It's a maze. The third event is very simple and clear. The trophy of the Triumph is placed at the top of the maze. Which team can hit it first, you can get full marks."

"The top?" Krum asked in a deep voice.

"Yes," Bagman stroked the strap on his chest, "I never said that the maze only has one layer, right?"

"So we just need to pass the maze?" Furong said, confirming, "Find the right path?"

"Of course not, Miss Dragur," Bagman shook his head, his voice cheering, "Hagir offers a lot of animals...and some spells have to be lifted...and something like that, this is a competition of speed. The leading Warriors team first enters the maze. We will put the scores and order of the two matches in the foyer, it's too late today and wait until tomorrow..."

"In addition, there is another thing to remind you. The maze castle is not allowed to attack each other - we will supervise the whole process - but we can grab the trophy, of course, only if the same team is not gathered." Bagman looked at the warriors staring at him blankly, with a smile on his round face, "You will find that the trophy is the key. When three people in a team touch it at the same time, it will work and take you out of the maze."

The room suddenly became very quiet. Bagman waited for a few seconds and stood on tiptoe uneasy, "That's it! Warriors!"

...

"I can't believe it! They actually allowed the Warriors to take action!" Ron said incredible. As soon as they came out of the auditorium, he couldn't wait to express his opinion.

"It's not about taking action, it's about grabbing the trophy." Harry corrected him without thinking. He felt it was normal, and a faint voice in his heart was eager to try.

"But - if we don't attack each other, how can we get the trophy from him?" Ron asked.

Harry also hesitated, "I guess there will be restrictions, such as not allowing the use of evil curses...Bagmann said that the details will be posted tomorrow."

"I still think we have to be careful," Ron said.

At this time, Harry noticed that Hermione had been silent. He looked at her curiously, "Hermione, what's wrong with you?"

"Oh, uh," Hermione shyed her hair, "Remember Bagman's words, the Warriors' parents would be invited to watch the game, I haven't told them yet... In fact, uh," she looked at Harry and Ron carefully, "I made up some lies. I said in my letter to them... There is only one Warrior in each school, and two of Hogwarts because of accident... The other one is certainly not me... Oh, my god, I told them that the second Warrior was Harry."
