Chapter 161 Eavesdropping
The elevator went down quickly. After a brief darkness, Felix saw the light under his feet in his light, and the light was constantly magnifying.
The noisy sound came into their ears and they came to a huge underground building.
Felix looked at the patterns and wall paintings on the vaulted ceiling.
Maxwell noticed his gaze: "We have adopted a new style - the constellation pattern, and some historical events. Have you seen that big sphere?" He pointed to the silver-white sphere above the dome, which was emitting soft light, illuminating the entire foyer like daytime.
"It was not in the past, thanks to the senior minister."
As the elevator landed, Felix walked out of the "bird cage". He looked around and the rotunda was divided into two floors, the first floor where he was, several long desks were juxtaposed in the center of the open space, most of which were full of seats, and people walked back and forth in a hurry.
The second floor is supported by some gallery columns, and at the edge is the aisle with railings. He saw someone standing in front of the horizontal railing, looking down from a high place.
"The buildings here are arranged horizontally?" Felix asked.
"What, oh, yeah, it's like a spider web, we're standing in the center of the spider web." Maxwell said: "It's not quite the same as the British Ministry of Magic. I heard you have opened up more than a dozen layers downward?"
"As far as I know, it's ten layers," Felix said.
Next, Maxwell took Felix out of the foyer, walked straight along an open passage to a small office with a piece of paper on it - the temporary registration point No. 2.
"I'll take you here directly, so as not to go to the front desk to ask the receptionist, there's always a long queue..." Maxwell pushed open the door, "Good afternoon, Willy, I'll bring a friend to register for the Muggle Research Conference."
A light-haired witch raised her head, "Of course... there have been many people coming lately, and I have no time to spend time on entertainment." He suddenly looked at Felix: "Do you like playing explosive cards?"
Maxwell interrupted him impatiently, "Willie, we're in a hurry and we'll have to go to the hotel later. I'm so angry when I think of that American woman."
"Ha! But you have to follow her command, right?" The witch named Willy handed over a form while registering Felix's wand, "Just fill it casually, mainly the columns of name, country and visiting purpose."
Maxwell's beard shook, "I'm following the minister's order."
Felix quickly filled out the basic information and turned a blind eye to the magic column on the form. When he handed it to Willy, the witch didn't look at it and stuffed it into the drawer. He turned his head and said happily to Maxwell: "But the minister asked you to listen to her. Did that woman ask you to do the job of a waiter?"
Maxwell returned with a rude gesture.
When they walked out of the office, Maxwell explained: "This meeting was applied by the American Magic France Association to the International Wizards Federation, and it will be hosted by us after all the committee members approved it."
"Why don't you go to the United States?"
"Who knows what they asked for?" Maxwell obviously didn't want to talk much. Felix guessed that it might have something to do with the 'that woman' he said.
The two came to a fireplace, "Bothres Hotel, remember? Please ask first."
Felix grabbed a handful of Flour powder and clearly shouted "Bousres Hotel" in the green flames, and his figure disappeared.
Felix walked out of the fireplace, and the interior decoration in front of him was mainly red and gold. The most prominent one was the red carpet and golden stone pillars, which reminded Felix of the Gryffindor College in Hogwarts.
He felt slightly amused.
Soon, Maxwell appeared from the fireplace, and he took Felix to a room and hurriedly left.
Felix pushed open the door, the furnishings inside were simple. He spent some time imposing some protective spells and then walked around the hotel.
There were seven floors in the hotel. Felix walked to the first floor and chatted with the front desk waiter. He quickly determined that this was a Muggle hotel and the location was very remote.
"Your tour group is so strange. Tourists will not flock here until autumn to enjoy the flowers and scenery. Now the surroundings are bare..."
"And once we move in, we are not allowed to clean the room, and there are all kinds of weird requests."
Felix responded to a few words. He didn't know how the French Ministry of Magic talked about it and didn't want to say more.
There were two men standing at the door, one hand in his pocket. His temperament was very similar to Maxwell, and he guessed it was a guard arranged by the Ministry of Magic.
Felix asked the waiter if there was a person named "Keridi Bubaji" who came. The waiter checked the service list and said, "No, her room is 203, and it is still vacant. I just cleaned it in the morning."
After politely thanking, Felix began to walk up from the first floor to check whether there were any traces of black magic.
I met several wizards from different countries in the middle, and they were also invited experts. Felix chatted with them for a few words. Except for the language that really didn't work, most of them were very friendly.
On the fourth floor, he found a huge auditorium with hundreds of seats.
‘It seems the meeting is going on here.’
The fifth and sixth floors were empty, but Felix walked over one by one until the seventh floor, and he heard some movement.
‘I really caught it? Or is it actually the staff in the hotel?’
Felix's figure gradually merged with the surrounding environment, and his footsteps were low and he stopped at the door of Room 705.
The sound inside was very small, but Felix saw two bright magic sources with the help of a black and white perspective. He pointed at the wall with his magic wand, and the intersection of the tip of the stick and the wall became softer.
The conversation in the room was clearly heard into Felix's ears-
"Have you got the list yet?" This is the voice of a woman.
"No, his mouth is very hard." A low man's voice rang.
"You can't--" The woman's voice suddenly stopped, as if she was cast as a tongue-locking spell.
"You also realize the problem. We can't take tough measures, at least I refuse."
The woman whispered.
After a long time, when Felix thought the conversation had ended, the man said decadently: "This is a complete disaster."
The sound of footsteps came and Felix quickly left.
In the room, he was still thinking about the information he had obtained by chance.
It turned out that one of the attackers was caught last time. Judging from the conversation between the two sides, the attackers' identity was very special, which made them worry.
Is he a relative of an official?
