Chapter 120 Defense Against the Dark Arts Lesson

On a new day, Damocles Belby had breakfast and went to his first class happily.

Following Felix's advice and after negotiating with Dumbledore, he visited twelve wizards who had served as the Dark Magic Defense Class, which gave him first-hand information about the rumored curse.

According to these predecessors, the influence of the curse is very subtle and cannot even be felt. However, after half a year, some secret things begin to exert influence, and they often encounter some seemingly coincidental accidents.

As time goes by, this kind of accident will become more and more common.

Their advice to Belby was, "When you are cooking potions one day, you encounter a failure that you shouldn't have failed, and you must start preparing to leave."

Belby kept this sentence in his heart.

In the remaining days, he began to prepare lessons carefully.

...

‘Today is the second grade course, they should have the ability to deal with the Red Hat, but I’d better be more at ease.’ This was his first class, and Belby was excited and nervous.

When he appeared at the door of the classroom, the little wizards who were originally chatting fell on him.

The professor looked ordinary, tall and thin, and looked a little weak, but he used magic to drag two large cages covered with cloth, which gave them a hint of expectation.

There is no way, their requirements are already very low.

The professor stood at the door and greeted them, "Come with me, little wizards, today is a practical class, I need to understand your practical level." He directed the cage floating in the air to disappear at the door, "By the way, don't forget your wand."

The little wizards were busy packing things, but they exchanged surprise glances with each other.

They haven't taken a practical class on Dark Magic Defense for a long time, unless the memorable lesson this year is included, in that class, Gidro Lohart brought a cage of Cornwall goblins and stirred up the class.

"Do you know what I remember?" Ron said with a hint of reference.

"Those little guys with dark faces are not so quiet." Harry replied very experiencedly.

In the only practical class this year, the three of them cleaned up the mess, and captured the Cornwall Elves back into the cage, with Hermione's frozen curse helping a lot.

They walked through the corridor and came to a quiet, empty classroom.

Belby put the metal cage in the corner, and a low "chi" sound came from it. Neville, who was walking in front, shrank back, afraid that the things inside would grab his ears and fly to the ceiling.

"What would it be?" Harry asked.

"The sound is a bit like a cat," Ron guessed.

"But cats should appear in the magical biology class, they are not dangerous," Hermione said.

"I just hope it's not the eight-eyed giant spider." Ron said hopefully. When he thought of Hagrid raising a group of eight-eyed giant spider in the forbidden forest, he couldn't help but want to knock on his thick head and see what he was thinking.

This news was a secret revealed by Hager when they were chasing the monster in the secret room. When he later saw the photos and information about the eight-eyed giant spider that Hermione found, he was always worried about it.

"He even gave it a name - Aragork!"

Belby looked at the classroom with emotion, recalling the scene when he was in school - although it was not too beautiful, because he was not very sociable at the time.

He re-introduced himself: "Many people may not know much about me. My name is Damocles Belby. I have some research on potions, but teaching you black magic defense is also perfectly qualified."

"To some extent, I have some advantages. I read the second grade textbooks, and you need to learn some anti-evil curses and learn how to properly deal with some low-risk magic creatures, and I happen to be cooking potions, and I know them very well..."

He told a cold joke, judging from the effect, the little wizards were indeed frozen.

Ron whispered to Harry: "I guess Hagrid won't like him." But he suddenly had an idea and wanted to introduce Aragork to the new professor.

Harry agreed that if anyone dared to use his "little cutie" as a potion material, he would definitely go crazy.

After introducing himself, Belby named the list and remembered the names of the little wizard one by one.

“Millison Bossed.”

"Nevil Longbottom."

...

"Ronard Weasley."

After clicking the name, the little wizards raised their hands curiously to ask questions. They had already obtained all kinds of true and false news in advance-

"Professor, have you received the Merlin Order?"

"Yes, this month."

"Are you a potion master?"

"This is what others say about me."

"What is wolf poison potion?"

"A potion to relieve the symptoms of a werewolf full moon."

"Who is stronger than Professor Snape?" This is a Gryffindor question, and his other half Slytherin glared at him.

"Well... the research direction is different, and there is no meaning of comparison."

After a few minutes, Belby realized that he could not let the group of wizards with divergent thoughts ask questions, as if they wanted to go and fight Snape to fight for the title of Hogwarts' No. 1 Potion Master.

Belby cleared his throat and said, "Today, we will review what we have learned. Red Hat. I will ask a few questions. If you answer correctly, you can get extra points--"

"professor!"

A little wizard interrupted him, "What is the Red Hat?"

Belby was a little stunned, "Uh... Red Hat is a magical animal similar to a gnome. They are distributed in the Nordic region, wait!" He looked at the confused expression below, "Have you ever learned Red Hat?"

Responding to him was a uniform shaking of his head and sighing.

Belby stopped, he felt something was wrong, and he called a student, "What have you all learned?"

Simo Feinigan stood up and said something unknown: "Professor, we learned to play vampires." He unbuttoned the outer wizard robe as a cloak, bared his teeth, and made a noble expression of a lofty nobleman.

Many young wizards laughed.

"Okay, that's fun, but not the answer I want."

Finally, Hermione raised her hand to introduce their studies this year to the overwhelmed new professor.

"So, except for the little goblins in the first class, you don't have any practical lessons?" Belby was completely stunned.

I did ask about this course and was mentally prepared, but no one told him that there was no practical part of the Dark Magic Defense class?

It took almost half a minute before he came to his senses, "Okay, then we, uh... Then we'll learn Red Hat today."

He waved his wand and lifted up the curtain on the cage.

The creatures in the cage frightened them. This was a short, thin creature. Except for the top of the head, it was covered with a layer of red fluff, and other exposed skin gave people a dirty dark brown color.

"You can get closer and observe," said Belby.

The little wizards plucked up the courage to approach and looked at this creature that looked very fierce-

They curled up in the cage and grinned at the little wizards. One of the red hats suddenly slammed the magic-imposed metal cage with their cages, but it was in vain.

"Bang!"

But the little wizards were still shocked.

Harry clearly saw that its claws were very exaggerated, completely disproportionate to the body, and its nails were at least one and a half inches.

Belby explained the voice: "Did you notice their claws? I think someone has noticed that their forelimbs are very flexible and can use simple tools such as branches, sticks and stones."
