Chapter Eleven: Man Has Three Lamps

The midterm exam results were similar to what I expected. I had more than 70 students in the class, and I ranked 34th. This score was not as good as I did. My deskmate Li Junjie did much better than me and ranked 16th. That's it. He was still sitting in his seat and sighing, saying that if he had done two questions wrong, he could improve his ranking.

I was a little surprised at his mentality. Isn’t it just that I pay so much attention to the results of the exam. When I saw many of the students in the class showing happy and sad expressions, I realized that it was my mentality that changed.

From the beginning of my cultivation, my originally lively mind gradually removed my impetuousness, just like a cup of muddy water that has settled, and my whole body has become clear and stable.

Well... you can pick up and let go; you can go in and out. This is the path to practice in the world.

After the midterm exam, the final exam will be around one more month. Many students start to study hard and strive to improve their test scores. I don’t have this sense of compactness, and my life is still simple. During the day, I translate and ponder "Daozang" and practice with Ah Huang at night.

Before I knew it, Ah Huang changed a lot. I remember when I first met it, its fur was dry and gray. Now its fur was shiny and shiny. Under the light, it was still a bit of jade.

As the Chinese New Year approaches, the weather gradually becomes colder, but my meditation and practice career has not stopped.

One night, as usual, I got up secretly after turning off the lights in the dormitory and walked to the roof of the teaching building.

The air around me was a little cold, and the moon was bright and the stars were sparse. I sighed and sat down cross-legged.

When practicing Taoism, we should focus on entering into meditation and rebirth of tranquility.

During a few breaths, my distractions were removed and I fell silent.

Huh... A slight and undetectable sound was made between the mouth and nose, and then a stream of air spurted out quickly like a white line, disappearing three feet away in front of the nostrils.

Inhale... in one breath, like silk threads, pouring into the mouth and nose, and then traveling through the internal organs and along the blood vessels to the limbs and bones.

The air around me became more and more deserted, but I was completely silent. From the outside, my whole body seemed to have turned into a stone egg. Except for breathing like nothing, the circulation of blood veins in my body gradually became slower. Digestion, breathing, heartbeat... and even my spiritual consciousness and thoughts were paused.

In fact, I didn't really turn into a stone egg. On the contrary, my head was in a state of emptiness and brightness, which was very wonderful. I "saw" the magic weapon of scissors in the Nirvana Palace again, instead of sensing it with my spiritual sense.

The scissor magic weapon is wrapped with a ball of air, which should be the vitality of heaven and earth. "I" can't help but move towards the scissor magic weapon and combine it into one. In the hazy, I have an illusion that I want to become a scissor magic weapon.

Boom!! As soon as I merged, thunder seemed to have entered my body. I felt a loud bang in my mind, and then my scalp became numb, and the sky spirit cover was slightly ups and downs, as if something was about to break out of my body.

The slightly closed eyes flashed with light, as if a few stars in the sky fell into my mind. The whole person also floated up from the ground, lost in the stars, gradually moving away, and melted into nothingness. He could "see" himself, but he could not feel the existence of his hands and feet.

I really saw... "I" floated out and saw the body sitting cross-legged beside me, and Ah Huang. What's going on? I ran outside my body!!

Imagine what it would be like to suddenly see my face without mirror reflection. I was shocked, and I felt cold and trembling all over, and I couldn't say that my whole body was as if I was naked and thrown into an ice hole.

Ah Huang also discovered my existence at this moment and jumped up in horror. It turned its head and looked at the body beside it, and then squeaked at me in the air.

Go back, go back quickly! As soon as I had thought, I felt billions of light penetrate into my mind from outside my body and randomly condense into pieces. When I opened my eyes, there was still no other "me" in front of me.

Did I practice something wrong? Recalling the horrifying scene just now, I quickly jumped up and stood up, not daring to continue practicing, and then sensed my body without any adverse reactions.

"A thought of clearing the soul, the soul consciousness has not dissipated, like a dream or a shadow, it looks like a ghost, and this is the Yin God." A sentence from "Daozang" suddenly popped up in my mind, which is very similar to the situation just now. Isn't it because I practiced wrongly, this is the out-of-body situation in the Yin God realm?

"The Thirty-Six Techniques of Taoist Cang" divides Yin spirit into five realms: leaving the body, burning three candles, condensing the Taoist image, connecting the six orifices, and burning the heart fire. According to the above description, "condensing the essence of heaven and earth, you can reach the Yin spirit realm for several years", and I only practiced for a few months and reached the first realm. This is probably not because of my extraordinary qualifications, but because of the scissors magic weapon in my head.

Alas... After all, the Taoist heart is unstable. When I encounter an abnormality, I am at a loss. I know that I have not practiced wrongly, and my mind gradually calmed down. When I recalled the scene just now, I suddenly had the idea of trying again.

Then sit cross-legged and start the magic trick.

With the experience just now, I was very sober this time and "watched" myself floating out very slowly.

Seeing two "mes" appearing on the roof again, Ah Huang screamed again, and a confused look appeared in his eyes.

I have just read Su Shi's "Preface to Red Cliffs" not long ago. There is a sentence in it that describes the current scene as if it is most appropriate: "It is as floating as if it is independent of the world, and it has become an immortal."

I am now like an immortal. As soon as I think about something, the Yin God began to rise into the air.

I took off four or five feet high and suddenly felt a strong wind whistling by my side, which almost blown away the Yin Spirit. I was shocked and quickly lowered the height and landed on the roof.

"I want to ride the wind, but I am afraid that the jade building and jade tower are so cold that it is so high. I dance and play with the clear shadows, how does it seem like I am in the world?" I suddenly remembered two lines of Su Shi. Is it possible to write such poems that are in line with the wonderful realm? Su Dongpo has also had the experience of the Yin God leaving his body.

Since I couldn't fly in the sky, I went around the ground. Looking at the ground more than ten feet deep, I suddenly moved and had already jumped down from the top of the building.

The landing silently, just as I expected, it was fine.

A newborn calf is not afraid of a tiger, and ignorance is a blessing. Later I learned that the first time the Yin God left the body is not as bold as me. Many people will not leave their bodies too far in the early stage of practicing Yin God, otherwise it is easy to have accidents.

I floated all the way and came to the school gate in a few breaths.

The little black dog tied at the gate of "Wangwang" suddenly yelled at me. The black dog was a few feet away from the Yin God, and I felt uncomfortable. It seemed that something was carrying it, which was strongly scorching me, making me afraid to get close.

At this time, the old man who was watching the gate walked out in his clothes and raised the mine lamp to shine around. Recently, several new game halls have been opened in the town. There are many students going over the yard wall to play games at night, so the old man sleeps in his clothes at night. When he heard the dog barking, he immediately got up and went out.

It was broken, and someone was about to be discovered. I was shocked and hurriedly wanted to turn around to avoid it, but I knew that the light swept past me and shone elsewhere.

He didn't notice me, and I felt relieved when he saw that the other party was not looking here.

The old man looked around, but he didn't notice anyone climbing over the wall. Seeing that the black dog was still yelling, he just thought the beast was messing around, scolded him a few words, and then went into the house to sleep in his clothes.

Since I saw that Ah Huang could confuse Tibetan mastiffs, I realized that many legends in the countryside are not superstitious. This frightening black dog in front of me reminded me of a saying circulating in the countryside: black dog blood can drive away evil and avoid disasters. If black dog blood is scattered around the house, it will be difficult for external evil ghosts to get close to. Many newborn children wear black dog teeth bracelets because of this, and the same is true for wearing peach wood cards.

What surprised me even more was that when the old man who was guarding the gate first appeared, he was wearing three balls of fire on his body. He had a cup on his head and shoulders on his shoulders.

When I was a child, my grandma often told me, "When I walk at night, if someone calls your name, don't look at both sides, because once I turn my head, it may blow out the fire and attract ghosts."

It turns out that this makes sense. Those three lamps are the yang fire in the human body. Ordinary people cannot see it, but the Yin gods and ghosts can see it clearly.
