Chapter 759 Needham's Problem
Zhaoer, you are like Li Zhi, just guessed the beginning right..." I chuckled, holding a beautiful woman's soft waist with one hand and said with a smile: "Actually, I have made a foundation with Li Zhi before. This time, I am for my husband to be for myself. On the surface, this is to make my Tang Dynasty reform the imperial examination system. In fact, I have a deeper thought in it."
The eyes of the two wives and concubines seemed a little confused. I stood up and walked around the room. When I arrived outside the door, I made sure there was no one around, turned around and looked at the two stunning women whose hearts were all tied to me. I slowly said my thoughts: "A husband has always had an idea, that is, to transform Confucianism!"
"Ah?!" The palace maid sister couldn't help but exclaim, and quickly covered her hand in front of her plump and pink lips. She widened her eyes in disbelief and looked at me with a smile, but her eyes seemed extremely firm. Cheng Luanluan frowned slightly, and also had a confused look on her face: "Husband, why do you say such words, don't scare me."
At this time, I seemed extremely relaxed. As soon as I said this, it seemed like I had removed a heavy burden on my heart. Yes, this idea had already had a vague concept since I began to adopt Liu Yue and others. The longer the time went on, the clearer the thought became, as if this was the most important thing I should do when I traveled to the prosperous Tang Dynasty.
If I had said this idea for three years, well, let alone three years, two years ago, I would have been regarded as a lunatic. Now, whether it is the direction of national public opinion or the expectations of people in the literary world, it is already incomparable to those at that time. Although I am still a leader of a minority, I also have my own foundation. In addition, Li Zhi, the prince of the Tang Dynasty and Uncle Li, are also my supporter behind the curtain. I can be 100% sure that when I start to act, the boost I receive will definitely not be much less than the obstacle.
What I told Li Zhi today was an obvious meaning. That is, the second man in the Fang Mansion was ready to start a big move. At this time, he would inevitably get secret help from their father and son. Even if they did not help, at least he should acquiesce to my behavior.
The first thing to do when transforming Confucianism is very important. That is, to control public opinion. Only when public opinion is turned to my side can I gain more support and my actions can gain support.
---------------------------------------------------
As for why I wanted to transform Confucianism, this point has to start with the thousands of years of scientific and technological development history in China that I learned in later generations. At that time, our professors in the history department of the local department mentioned a confusing puzzle more than once. This is also a puzzle proposed by a Western barbarian scholar. I remember clearly what the person was called. Because the puzzle he raised has always been recognized as the "Joseph Needham puzzle". The puzzle named after him.
As we all know, China is an ancient civilization world-renowned country, and has also had proud and brilliant brilliance in science and technology. In addition to the four major inventions that are eye-catching, there are hundreds of scientific inventions and discoveries ahead of the world. American scholar Robert Temple once wrote in the famous book "China, the Kingdom of Invention" that all the winners will belong to the Chinese without any dispute."
However, since the mid-15th century, China's science and technology have fallen like rivers and fallen into a dilemma. According to relevant information, from the sixth century to the early fifteenth century, China's land accounted for more than 54% of the world's major scientific and technological achievements, but gradually declined from the fifteenth century. In the 19th century, it dropped sharply to only 0.4%. Why did China and the West fall and rise in science and technology, and set off such a huge distance? This is what Joseph Needham finds incredible and difficult to solve for a long time.
Six hundred years before the Westerners introduced printing technology to the West, the Chinese nation had invented this technology. The Chinese nation built the first equipment to use chains to transmit power, which was more than 700 years ahead of the Europeans, and first used a compass. At least after more than one world, relevant information appeared in other parts of the world. So, since the 15th century, why did the Chinese nation, a highly developed civilization, suddenly stop moving?
When I got this thesis topic, the first thing I considered was that invention requires personalized thinking ability, which is different from ordinary people's ideas and a creative and enterprising spirit.
Therefore, I think the most critical question of this puzzle: Why did the Chinese nation seem to have lost their previous enterprising and creative minds since the 15th century?
For this paper, after I consulted a large amount of historical materials, I gave a complete explanation of this puzzle from my own perspective. That is, during the Ming Dynasty, the Confucian system had flourished and integrated with the Tang and Song dynasties, and by the Southern Song Dynasty, a fixed model had been formed.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, Neo-Confucianism, which inherited Confucianism, was born, and Neo-Confucianism once played a good role in the development of society at that time. Its development in speculative philosophy was undoubtedly a major progress in human history. Neo-Confucianism also had a considerable impact on the historical development of Japan and North Korea. However, Neo-Confucianism was increasingly playing a negative and even reactionary role in strengthening the development of feudal ethics.
In particular, the Cheng-Zhu School clamored to preserve the laws of nature and eliminate human desires, and the ideological control of "keeping oneness" and "uniformity" seriously affected the emergence of science and suppressed people's creative spirit.
In the end, the country's internal struggle increased, and more hypocrites became more and more. They rigidized people's thoughts and eliminated personalized thinking, which made our China slowly lag behind the world. This theory, which completely restricted personalized thinking, was prevalent in the Southern Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, and mid-Qing Dynasty, gradually declined with the invasion of Western barbarians.
There is a lack of personalized thinking, only a single thought model is left, leaving only a will and voice. In this way, the enlightenment, self-confidence and continuous progress of the Chinese nation will gradually transform into following the rules under this thinking model. Naturally, other voices and ideas will be strangled, which will gradually lead to the decline of the Chinese nation.
At that time, my paper was indeed not valued by the professor, and even despised and ridiculed. The old guy said that I was just an angry young man who completely ignored Confucianism and Neo-Confucianism for the development and progress of the Chinese nation. He directly scored my paper with twenty-five points. Damn, if the professor dared to give me this score, I would definitely let him be sent to him thousands of miles away to discuss a brief history of human development with Kunlun slaves.
---------------------------------------------------
Lao Tzu wanted to re-interpret all the Confucian thoughts and knowledge, including the texts they passed down, to re-interpret it in a comprehensive and correct way that would be conducive to the healthy development of our Tang Empire and the Chinese nation.
In other words, I want to revolutionize the life of Confucianism! Well, it is a bit too much. It should be that this young master, the great, wise and powerful man-in-law, needs to train Confucianism and thoughts that are still in the process of growth. This is why I need the help of Li Zhi, why I want to take in a large number of young intellectuals who are dissatisfied with the current teaching situation, and why I want to take in disciples to inherit my thoughts.
Because now, traditional Confucian scholars and their disciples belong to the majority, and I and my team must belong to the minority, so I have to fight for the right to speak and argue. So why did the Tang Dynasty Weekly and the Tang Dynasty Daily be firmly held in my hands? In order to ensure that I can have enough voices to tell more people that what the predecessors explained and what they said may not be correct. Today, we young and wise men who are full of enthusiasm and respect for our ancestors will interpret the knowledge of our predecessors again.
We can no longer let the ideological system that imprisons people's thoughts, destroys people's personalized thoughts, and kills all new things with one stick, and then jump out to poison the Chinese nation. I will personally kill this sign in the cradle, or even in the state of elements, otherwise, the great Chinese nation will still decline.
Therefore, I must do my best to re-analyze the ideological and cultural heritage of the Chinese nation in combination with reality and the pain suffered by later generations, so as to form a completely formal, officially recognized and vigorously promoted interpretation.
