Six hundred and twenty-two. Commandos

On the afternoon of December 1, 1942, two outstanding soldiers of the Brandenburg Commando, who were fighting in the Soviet Union, were called to attend a secret meeting. Free e-book download (

They sat in a conference room with eighty-three other paratroopers. Everyone whispered, not knowing what had happened. A captain walked into the conference room, and all the paratroopers stood up and stood attentively. He walked to the front of the conference room and ordered everyone to sit down.

"Good afternoon! First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone here, you have carefully selected and are the best soldiers among us. You have been selected for a highly confidential and extremely important mission. I am Captain Dorn, and in this operation, I will be your commander."

He stood up, spread out a large aerial photo, and nailed it to the wall behind him with several pushpins. The photo shows a huge mountain fortress with some artillery and several bunker-like buildings. Heisenberg had never seen anything like this before.

"This is Polpov, located in the mountains of Petras, the fortress is strategically important, and it overlooks most of the frontline..." Then, he added ominously: "It is considered a very terrible single fortress, and for infantry and tanks it is even harder to deal with than the Maginot Line."

Heisenberg's heartbeat began to intensify, and he felt that he was being dragged into an extremely dangerous situation...

"We believe that the fortress has about one thousand two hundred defenders. You will be outnumbered, but your advantage is to raid!"

The captain paused a little: "As I said before, you are carefully selected soldiers with their own skills. Among you are the most capable soldiers in the army, including two commandos of Brandenburg Commando... and five blasting experts, three medical soldiers and three communication experts."

He pointed to the huge armored roof of the fortress and said, "This is the landing point for your parachute. When you land, people should defend it here, and this is a good landing area."

The captain pointed to several armored turrets with cannons. There were no cabin doors or other entrances on the top of these turrets that could enter. Then he pointed to the large number of artillery and anti-tank guns in the fort. "This is why you were sent to attack this fortress. As long as these 200mm and 20mm artillery were still in the hands of the Soviet army, the commando would launch an effective attack. In short, the entire invasion of the commando depends on this raid, and you must not miss it."

He reached into a wooden box that had been placed on the table and took out a submachine gun. "This is an mp40 submachine gun..."

The captain put the mp40 back into the wooden box and took out a small black pistol with a silencer installed on the barrel. "This is a Walter PP pistol equipped with a silencer. It also uses 9mm spores, with an effective range of about fifty meters."

Then he raised a flamethrower. The fuel barrel was shaped like a circular lifebuoy. "This is a piggy-back flamethrower, also known as the 40 flamethrower. It has an effective range of 36 meters and the oil can be continuously sprayed for two minutes. It is recommended that you spray for 10 seconds each time so that you can use it twelve times. You will be equipped with twenty flamethrowers."

Then the captain picked up a cone-shaped blow. "This is a hollow charge, and the fuse installed on it is the same as the s24 grenade, but the burning time has been extended to 10 seconds..." He pointed to the armored turret in the photo and said, "This blow is magnetic. Put it on the armored turret, pull the fuse, and then you hide to a safe distance. This blow can blow through the turret and blow the people inside. Twenty of you. Each one is equipped with two of this blow. Five blasting experts, each one is also equipped with two."

"Each of you is equipped with an mp40, a Walter PP pistol with a silencer, and two S24 grenades. Soldiers who do not carry flamethrowers or hollow charges will bring more grenades and seeds."

Heisenberg raised his hand...

The captain pointed to Heisenberg and asked, "Corporal, are there any problems?"

"I'm sorry, sir, but I'm a sniper. If I bring my own carbine, I'll have higher combat effectiveness."

The captain said to the people in the conference hall: "I know that many of you are good at using various weapons. Some of them are too heavy and are not suitable for this operation. Usually, the commando will airborne the weapon box while you are parachuting, but this operation will not be used this way because the accuracy of the landing point is emphasized. This time, a special weapon bag will be sewn on your military uniforms, and you can carry your weapons with you."

After the combat plan was announced, the commandos were given several hours to discuss and study the details of the attack.

Heisenberg received the order to cooperate with other snipers to suppress the enemy in the barracks and kill any sentry that might be outside the barracks. Edim received the orders like Heisenberg. The commando was all soldiers who were assigned multiple grenades and slaughter.

The commando was taken to a simulated fortress. The imitation fortress was surprisingly detailed, almost exactly the same as what the commando saw in the photo. The commando trained again and again. In order to increase the number of practices per day, the commando replaced the parachute with a special glider. Every day, the commando drilled into the glider with a full set of equipment, glided to the roof, practiced the installation of explosives, and launched attacks on places expected to be resisted. The commando used empty bags and simulated grenades and explosives. Some infantry hid in the fortress and played the role of Belgian defenders. The commando practiced at least ten times a day until the invasion was initiated on December 6. Everyone knew every room, every door, and every aisle in the fortress.

The commando was waiting and listening to the news... At midnight on December 6, the commando was woken up and learned that the operation had begun and the commando would immediately enter the battle.

Very, the commando was wearing a special military uniform. There was a long compartment on the back of the military uniform, equipped with a zipper, and the MP40 submachine gun was installed inside. A pistol holster was also worn on the belt to place the Walter PP pistol, and the muffler was installed in a small bag next to the holster.

The commando also issued a special box pack containing eight mp40 submachine gun magazines and four pistol magazines. A commando-style dagger was inserted into the sheath next to the boots.

At 3 a.m., the commando took off on a plane and flew towards Belgium. The planned plan was that when it was dawn and I could see the roof of the fortress, the commando would descend. Edim and Heisenberg were both worried, so the commando shook hands with each other.

"See you on the ground!" Edim said.

"Heisenberg will be there. Be careful not to be shot, Edim!"

“Remember the first rule.”

"I remember!"

Captain Dorn turned to the paratroopers and said, "The commando will fly over the target area within 5 minutes. Everyone is ready. Remember to cut the parachute after landing to make room for your comrades behind you."

Heisenberg took out the pendant that had been hanging around his neck, opened it and looked at the photos of his wife and son. Heisenberg closed the pendant, kissed the cold metal cover, and stuffed it back under his shirt again. A few minutes later, the cabin door opened and the paratroopers lined up in a single column to jump out of the cabin. Heisenberg put on his goggles and jumped out. For a moment, Heisenberg was a little panicked because it was pitch black below. Then he saw the fortress on the ground, and a line of parachutes were falling. Heisenberg controlled the parachute and floated in that direction.

"I can't believe all this!" Heisenberg thought so. The fortress was getting closer and closer. Eighty-five paratroopers appeared quietly over the fortress like ghosts.

Immediately, the commando began to land. Just as planned, the paratroopers quickly landed and unraveled their respective parachutes. The commando landed one by one on the top of the huge concrete fortress.

Just as Heisenberg approached the roof, the silence of the night was broken by the Russian shouts. Heisenberg knew that the commando had been discovered. Gunshots burst out quickly around.

Heisenberg finally touched the ground. After running a few steps forward, Heisenberg stopped and then untied the parachute. The morning breeze blew away the parachute on the ground. Edim landed behind Heisenberg, and he also completed the established action.

Heisenberg saw several paratroopers rushing to the edge of the roof and shooting violently below. Some skirmishes jumped down from the edge and landed on the top floor where several armored turrets were installed.

"Does go!" They shouted below. After a few seconds, hollow charges exploded one by one. Heisenberg saw the smoke from the explosion rushing into the night sky.

Edim and Heisenberg came to the designated location as planned and controlled the entrances of the four barracks. Heisenberg saw the fire of muzzles from the doors and doors of the barracks, and the enemy in the barracks finally responded.

Heisenberg took out the mp40 submachine gun, put it in a box, and aimed it at the flickering point of the muzzle and fired.

Many paratroopers descended to the roof, and Edim and Heisenberg continued to shoot towards the barracks below. Heisenberg heard a shot of the wall beside Heisenberg and was opened. The commando lay on the ground, using the stone roof as a cover, avoiding the sons of Soviet soldiers.

Two German soldiers lying on the ground quietly touched the two barracks' houses, and they both threw a grenade into the house at the same time.

After a few seconds, the grenade explosion made two loud noises, accompanied by screams.

Heisenberg and Ellis aimed at the barracks' houses, shot out a box with mp40, and then reinstalled. Another soldier got up and threw a grenade through the barracks' door. There was another loud noise, and many screams came from the barracks.

Heisenberg picked up the mp40 and swept it into the door.

Now, German paratroopers are everywhere. Several grenades have been thrown into several other barracks, and the sound of gunfire and grenade explosions are everywhere in the air.
