Moyer, 1966.

Colonel Tarrant stretched, and it was probably another good weather today.

From an ordinary policeman to becoming the supreme commander of the Interior Guard in Moyer, he has spent 21 years in the city.

21 years is not a short time. He was born here, grew up here, and got married. This means everything to him.

Even if he was given a higher official title, he would not want to leave the city.

"Col. Someone is looking for you. I heard that it is your friend."

"Oh, is that?" Colonel Tarrant is a person who attaches great importance to friends. No matter who he knows, he will always meet the other party and even spare no effort to meet the other party's request.

However, when Colonel Tarrant saw his friend, his eyes were straightened. He could not believe that the place would come to Moyer in person to visit him: "Will? God, my old friend, you actually came to Moyer."

"Of course, we said three years ago that I would come to visit you if I had time. Now, I'm just here to fulfill my promise." Will Tinland smiled and said, "Why, my dear Tarrant, don't you even have a cup of coffee?"

Colonel Tarrant hurriedly invited his old friend to the office and poured Will a cup of coffee: "Hey, my old friend, my coffee here cannot be compared with that in Paris."

"But the coffee that my friend made is always the most delicious." Will took the coffee: "Mr. Tarrant, Moyle is such a beautiful city. As soon as I set foot on the land here, I felt like I liked it."

"Ah, you will like this place even more." Colonel Tarrant was full of spirit when he talked about the city he loved deeply: "What I can be sure is that you come here for vacation every year."

"Yes, I hope to be here every year for vacation, chat with my old friends every year for a cup of coffee, but unfortunately, I'm worried that this is the last time I've been here."

Colonel Tarrant was shocked. He thought that his old friend had a physical problem, but Will's subsequent words made him know that he was wrong:

"Tarrant, I must warn you in advance that this place will soon become a battlefield!"

"Battlefield?" Colonel Tarrant was stunned for a moment, then reacted: "You are talking about the landing battle that the Axis troops are about to arrive? Ah, to be honest, I am not particularly worried. Their targets are mainly aimed at London, not Ireland, and it is even more unlikely to be Moyer."

Will sighed softly: "Yes, their target will not be Ireland or Moyer, but what about the IRA?"

Colonel Tarrant stood up with a "wow" and then slowly sat down: "Will, do you have any information?"

He knew very well that his old friend was not just a businessman. He had rich connections in various countries and even in all industries, and there were rumors that he maintained a close relationship with Germany. However, even so, the French government at that time did not dare to touch him.

Sometimes the accuracy of the information a person has even exceeded that of the government.

"I think you should know this person, Belt Adams." Will slowly said this name.

Colonel Tarrant nodded silently: "Yes, the new leader of the IRA, a leader of the anti-government armed forces wanted by the government, is also a Moire. It is said that he often comes to Moire, but unfortunately I have never successfully captured him."

"Does your heart really want to catch him?" Will shook his head in disbelief: "No, in fact, both you and Moyer's Interior Guard police are all sympathizers of Adams. Oh, maybe not all."

Colonel Tarrant was frightened: "Hey, Will, you can't say this nonsense, otherwise you will cause us trouble. Wait, is the war you mentioned related to Adams?"

"Yes, it has something to do with Adams." Will did not deny it at all: "A fight insurrection is about to break out in Moyer."

"God, thank you for this news." Colonel Tarrant hurriedly said, "I will make an arrangement immediately."

"Quiet, my old friend, you have to listen carefully to every word of my words before you can make a decision..." Will kept the other party calm: "Of course you have the power to carry out any suppression you want, but what consequences will this be caused? Why did Adams choose to revolt in Moyer? Because he even knows the city better than you, he knows that there are a large number of sympathizers here, and even the Interior Guard you command has a large number of loyal followers... Once you try to suppress, I can guarantee that Adams will get the news as soon as possible... As for Moyer's people, you will not be able to grasp what choices they will make...."

Colonel Tarrant sat there in a daze, without saying a word. He admitted that Will's words were all correct. Whether in Moyer or in the Interior Guard he commanded, there were too many supporters and sympathizers of the "Irish Republican Army" and he could not control the situation at all.

However, he must not watch his beloved city fall into terrible war.

"Let me tell you what to do..." Will said slowly: "Just as such things have never happened. Once the IRA revolt broke out in Moyer, all you have to do is to restrain your troops and not to involve the war, neither shoot at the IRA nor support them. Remember, there is the power of the National Army nearby, which is their business. If you show your position early, it will cause you to be in great trouble. Since war is inevitable, all we have to do is to make this city minimize the losses caused by war...."

Colonel Tarrant stared at the other party in a daze, carefully savoring the meaning of Will's words. He seemed to have vaguely understood the real purpose of his old friend coming here.

"Did Adams ask you to come here to convince me?"

"No, my old friend, Adams doesn't have that great ability to invite me." Will said with a smile: "Tell me straight to the point. I came here by Baron Alexander."

The expression of Captain Alexander Tarrant suddenly became solemn, and this name is an immortal legend.

"Yes, I was commissioned by Baron Alexanderson." Will stopped his smile and said very seriously: "The army commanded by the Baron is about to land on Britain. Before that, he must do everything possible to put the Fenton government into chaos. If an insurrection broke out in Northern Ireland and Ireland, the blow to the Fenton government would be very huge. Let me tell you some truth. I did meet Adams, and I also gave him the maximum support for funds and weapons...."

In fact, Colonel Tarrant is very grateful to Will for telling him these things. If he hadn't been to him, he would have been in the dark about the uprising of the IRA. And more importantly, Will did not hide anything from his own, including his support for the IRA.

"But everything I do is that Irish unity and independence have nothing to do with it..." Will's tone was very calm: "I am just helping Germany, or to be more precise, to help the Baron. Tarrant, you have to make a choice whether to continue to be loyal to the Fenton government, or to be loyal to Her Majesty the Queen who is about to return to England? Now is your best opportunity. Do you think Moyer will not be in war? You are wrong. Whether a war breaks out here does not depend on you, but on Baron Alexander's choice...."

Colonel Tarrant fell into deep contemplation.

Whether war will break out here does not depend on you, but on Baron Alexander's choice.

Baron Pier, perhaps, was to give a warning, to himself and Moyer's final warning.

"If I choose to be loyal to Her Majesty, can the Baron make sure that there will be no war here?" Colonel Tarrant asked, and when he saw Will nod, he continued: "So what about Adams and the IRA he led? What should they do? Let them do whatever they want in this city?"

"I once said that since war cannot be avoided, the damage caused by war must be reduced to a minimum..." Will said lightly: "Accepting the IRA's uprising in Moyer can even provide them with weapons to leave Moyer to fight the National Army. The damage to the war will be other cities, and it will definitely not be Moyer."

Chief Tarrant let out a long sigh, and now he fully understood what Will meant.

It is indeed a bit immoral and even betrayed his professional ethics and conscience, but now Colonel Tarrant has no other choice, either let the war break out in Moyer or let the war burn in other cities.

He sipped a sip of coffee, which was a little bitter, which was exactly the same as his mood at this moment.

To be continued...
