Chapter 10 Departure

The morning of early December was a bit cold, and today's Bennett Castle was very busy. After getting up in the morning, the servants were busy cleaning the carriage. The two horses pulling the carriage also fed soybeans and hung sky blue decorative pendants on the horses. The attendants repaired their weapons and cleaned their respective leather armor and boots. The Bennett Knight's war horse was carefully combed and replaced with gorgeous saddles.

When Abel brought his servants to lift his box out of the room, a noble ceremonial warrior composed of six spearmen, a team of not-gorgeous but very clean carriages had been waiting in front of the castle.

The spearmen were wearing uniform sky blue cloth armor, half-high leather boots on their feet, and a sky blue cloth hat on their heads. They held a three-meter spear. The whole body was equipped with only these three-meter spears, which were real military supplies. The others were made by castle tailors. The cloth armor could at most make the attendants who were caught in the arrow to take out the arrows from their bodies, and they could not keep the arrows low, let alone the cloth hats for preventing cold. Standing at the tips of the two spearmen in the front, there were two flags hanging, and the pattern on them was the pattern of the thorn shield of the Bennett family.

The carriage did not have too much decoration, but the curtains and door curtains were also replaced with sky blue. Sky blue is the main color of the thorn shield heraldry, so in formal occasions, the decoration of the castle is mainly sky blue.

Just as Abel put the box on the carriage, his father, Knight Bennett, came out of the castle on a war horse, followed by his mother Nora, who was covered in tears, and his elder brother was holding his mother aside.

Knight Bennett looked very solemn. Under the sunlight, the shiny silver-white armor on his body reflected cold light. There was no helmet on his head. The helmet, shield and great sword were hung on one side of the saddle. The hair was simply tied into a ponytail shape. When the cold wind blew, the hair kept dancing with the cold wind.

The shield hanging from the outermost part of the saddle, the sky blue thorn shield heraldry covered the entire shield, which shone with the sky blue great sword scabbard.

My mother didn't say anything, as if she had finished speaking last night. She just looked at Abel like this, as if she was looking at the most beautiful treasure in the world.

The eldest brother Zach knew that one day Abel would leave the castle. This was a tradition and no one would violate it. So he always cared for and loved his only brother, but he didn't expect that this day would come so early. Zach walked up to Abel and held Abel in his arms, with great strength even Abel, who was the same realm as him, felt pressure.

"Remember to come back when you have time. This is your home." The elder brother, who usually talks a lot, didn't say much at this moment, but this affectionate sentence almost made Abel's already peaceful heart lose control.

The winter morning sun did not make people feel warm, the wind was a little strong, and the flag tattooed with the family thorn shield in the team was blown away. Abel did not get into the carriage, but followed the middle of the team on the horse, who was almost three years old. The iron armor given by his father was too big. At this moment, he was wearing a cowhide-lined armor with wool and a light sword on his back. The weight of the sword was actually too light for him. The gift given by his father was not very practical than that of him who had already level 4.

Abel looked back at his mother Nora, who was still watching the convoy leave in front of the castle, and Zach who was holding her, and immediately turned his head again. He was afraid that he would fall from tears without controlling his eyes when he turned back.

There were not many people in the convoy when they left. Because they wanted to leave some attendants and guards, they only brought 6 spearmen, one coachman, and Knight Bennett and Abel, a total of 9 people. Last time, Norman, the attendant of the town of Fortress, after Knight Bennett left the castle, he was the second master in the territory and wanted to stay to protect the castle.

What we can explain here is that as the lowest level noble, not anyone is qualified to be a knight's attendant. Loyalty, reliability, strong force, and inability to have a low status are important conditions.

Like Norman in the Bennett family, he followed the knights to fight bravely from the battlefield. After his loyalty was recognized by the knights, he found the secret skills of warriors from the family heritage to teach him, making him a formal warrior, and upgrading his identity from an ordinary guard to a knight attendant with an identity higher than that of ordinary civilians.

Many wandering knights want to find an opportunity to become a knight attendant of a fief knight. From this we can see the identity of the knight attendant. You must know that after the knight attendant gives his loyalty, the knight is responsible for all the expenses of the attendant, including weapons, armor and the placement of the attendant's family. Therefore, both the attendant himself and the knight must be cautious and cautious about the inclusion of an attendant. Perhaps in the next battle, the attendant will save you or harm you.

The convoy traveled for six hours. Except for the half-hour rest at noon, the convoy was moving all the time. No one was watching the aristocratic team led by the Knights. Even those beasts could feel the Bennett Knight's dormant active volcano, which erupted with great destructive power at any time, and bypassed the convoy.

This was the farthest time Abel had from home. Whether it was the 11 years in my memory or the nearly two years he had come to this world, because it was winter, the scenery on the road was not attractive, and only some evergreen plants were dotted on the gray land.

Fortunately, it did not snow. Although the people and horses walked on these dirt roads, they were much better than the mud after rain or snow. Abel heard that in the roads in those prosperous areas, the ground was paved with large pieces of rock, which reminded him of the cement roads on the earth.

Abel thought that if cement was made, these roads could become as hard as those paved by rocks. He patted his head and told himself in his heart not to think about inventions and creations. Without strength, he would harm himself and his family, just like the castle water diversion system that was tied up by the Knight Bennett.

As a modern-day educated person, Abel clearly felt that his thinking was much more active than the boy in his memory, and even more active than when he was on Earth. This is also the reason why he mastered the speed when learning knight skills. Not only the knight skills, but also some other aristocratic etiquette and cultural knowledge, he could easily learn it and remember it firmly. Sometimes he couldn't help but wonder if this was the physical benefit he brought from time travel.

The road ahead turned from a dirt road to a gravel road, and the road surface was much flat. Knight Bennett turned around and pointed at the road in front of him and said to Abel: "This is the characteristic of Knight Marshall. He especially wants to save face. He requires everything to be the best. If it weren't for the plains and there were no mountains to mine huge rocks, then he would turn this road into a huge rock road."
